the pdaviet rom is working now with reg fixes for two of the bug issues of it of the usb not charging and the incorrect keyboard. much faster than the original for some reason. with it overclocked my wizard feels like an hermes.

as I mentioned before turning on/increasing the cache sizes makes the Wizard much more responive/faster - that's probably what they did as well and thats the reason for the decreased available RAM! If some body takes a look into the registry (see molski.biz for where to look) and posts it here we will know more...

YUP! Good as new (wm5 good).

Follow the directions. you will find 3 files (I think 3) that won't overwrite the system files. That's fine.

Manually copy a shortcut for camera.exe into your Program files. Assign it to button 3 and you're done.

Works.

I can't imagine what Faria's cooked ROM is like. He seems to have most everything figured out.


Does anyone else have the problem turning off the WiFi from the status bar when it is on? When I click on it, it says "Turn ON" regardless whether it is on or off... :(

yah, the wifi bug will take a little while to get used to and was one of the reasons I removed Crossbow the day I got it and put on the 3.3 Crossbow hybrid.

When the "patched" came out last night, I tried it but quickly went back to the original Crossbow release. Even with the WiFi bug, I love it. Works fast and the additional features make it worth it. I'll run Crossbow pre-release until a proven cooked ROM comes along.

you can turn off gprs by click and holding the hangup button(red one) for 2 secs, why bother using other tweakes?

I tried the black vista skin (second from bottom). It installs fine, but you can't call the Last Number Called by hitting the dial button on the phone. You have to do that through the contacts. Not even hitting the dial button on the skin causes it to dial the last number called.

My problem with Crossbow is that I entered the O2 wap settings as usual
and my cingular connects to O2 and everything seems ok but the IE won't
load the sites instead it brings the error:
"The page you are looking for cannot be found due to an unknown error 0x80072f78."

Has anybody experienced the same problems? And maybe found a solution?

Besides that problem the rom is perfectly running on my device and it is FAST!!!

Hi folks,

of course I searched on the xda-developers and on google but I am
not experiencing problems while connected to ActiveSync.

My problem is that the IE connects but it won´t get past the 409 homesite.

So if you got some helpfull hints and tricks I would be most happy :)
please spare me with "Install another browser" --- IE used to run in all the
other roms I flashed on my cingular so that it should work with crossbow as well.

Ok I installed the CAB file found in this thread to get MMS working on WM6. Well I have a question cuz I am stumped. When writing a new MMS, in the line to add who to send it too, I cant just click it and add from my contacts list. How do I get it so i can do this?

The same here. .mid files doesn't sound at all with Media Player. The Phone Settings is unable to play them also, so altought you set it as default ringtone the windows mobile default ringtone is always on.

One second problem is the configuration of the hardware keyboard: the Locale reg key is not working, at least with spanish settings (040a).

I know with my phone after the flash I can use MP3 files as ringtones. Stored on my SD card. Same goes with SMS tones. Is this the same with anyone elses device?

alright peoplz, Sprite Backup works great, back up and restoring without any warnings!! i got warnings in WM5, but none in WM6...kickass!! running smooth like a babies ass! haha...hows everyones battery life? ive been experiancing low batt life, someone said it was radio ROM, but never happend in my other ROMs...how bright is everyone keeping their screens? and how baddly does it effect it?

haha very nice! now does keeping the brightness slider in the middle affect the batt life a lot as opposed to keeping it second to the lowest?

nobody has problems with direct push?? doesn't work for me with the leaked rom - i can sync with exchange server without any problem, but although i set the schedule on "as items arrive" for both peak and non-peak times it won't notify me on the arrival of new mails... :( :confused:

P.S.: i have the 02.25.11 radio installed - may have something to do with the radio version??

UPDATE: works again - just a problem with notification system... :-)

You've got to load one of the WM6 ROMs that are floating around the net. Only they have a messenger app that supports HTML mail.

Ok here is my 2 cents...can login to live messenger but can't see online contacts..2 the video call button is missing i live in europe we use this...3 ..no rotate screen icon(tried the reg hack 2 show it..does not work after reset)...4 vibrate phone keys hack does not work..its usefull for me:-).

otherwise..nice fast rom.. acess to storage area is good..looks nice needs polishing....if anyone had these problems or found a solution reply to subzerolives@gmail.com..danke

I had to downgrade my radio rom to the 2.19 radio. With 2.25 or 2.47 my calls dont all come in, i don't get voicemail messages and incoming txt messages seem to be flaky as well. Im on day 2 on the 2.19 radio and it seems to be working good for me so far.

I noticed this too, but my phone was close to my speaker and found the screen seems to turn on when it is broadcasting. On my way home from work I must get my phoned 'handed over' to 3 cell towers as the screen came on 3 times. Much to my annoyance.

Exchange 2007 has only been available for a couple of months yet. It differs enough from 2003 to make it require a bit more work than a simple upgrade. It requires a 64 bit installation of Windows 2003 which rules out a in-place upgrade which was the easiest method usually (EX 2003 only runs on 32 bit Windows). That alone will put a lot of people off as it means new hardware most likely for them.

Did you try the Chinese version, which I found is the best so far? Unforunately I have to go back to the English one because of the interface.

Of course! But I am nowhere near my roomates status. He used, between sent and recieved, 17000 texts last month! He works at a call center so all he does all day long is text his friends.

YES, if you want to try WM6, you are quite easily able to go back to WM5 afterwords.

had the rom for couple of days n this is wat i noticed...the sound disappearin after an incomin call on the hbh-ds970 is solved n the music is routed bac perfectly..in the beginning, the ad2p quality suck but after i changed the max bitpool from 30 to 60 in the registry, its ok now...but the last prob which is the strangest of all is that if i am listenin to music or talkin on my smalltalk, after a while, the sound is rerouted to the external speaker as well and the speaker and mic of the smalltalk as well as the speaker on the fone works at the same time!!! Anyone seen anythin of this sort?

Has anybody managed to get Hitchhiker 0.4b working? In previous ROMs you just had to configure MSNMessenger once to get rid of the error after establishing the connection - on this ROM with Live Messenger it doen't help anymore... :(

there are bunch of warning msgs when starting this app...

and, most annoying thing, after applying 'GPRS always on' tweak i lost clock and part of signal strenght icon in taskbar :(

scratch that prob about clock - i just applied 'Taskbar Date/Time' tweak, which had value 'Nothing' by default... i set it to 'Clock' and now it's ok.

hey, yeah I just noticed this bug...oddly my other videos work on it but not the ones I record with the phone...yet tcmp(wht ever its called) plays it, so I know its not the recorder,but the media player

You should to add some registry strings and files to you rom.

Havn't got this problm on my own rom) also i added voicedial and now it is possible to add some voice tags for contacts.

Copy the "Voice Command.lnk" file from \Windows to \Windows\StartUp and reassign the button for VoiceDial.

Hi- Like many I've had some challenges with getting my bluetooth headset(s) to work properly with WM6. I have found a resolution that I would like to share.

The only time I can get the unit to successfully pair and keep the BT settings is when I set the headset to discovery and look for new devices on the unit. Before I was using the feature where it automatically asked if I wanted to pair but would only work one-time. Meaning when I turned the headset off it would never work with the pda again, even though it was defined in the BT settings. So I tried the old fashion way of pairing using the built in routines and it works consistently now. I can turn the BT headset off/on and it always re-established a link My headsets:
Bluespoon
& Plantronics

I have 1.6 Voice Command loaded and both headsets work fine with it. I can call up VC and ask what I want. In addition I can call and hang up as I please.

Anyways not sure if other have seen this but thought I would pass it on.

i installed WM6 Pdaviet Version 3 with all the fixes but when i tried to configure my BT GPS there is no option of New Incoming port and without that there is no way to run TOMTOM. Anyone has that problem ????

a gps receiver uses an outgoing port which should show up in com ports when you have successfully paired your receiver, from there just select the com port that you use for tomtom

If i am not wrong my BTGPS previously with WM5 i had to configure incoming port on com7 and BTGPS port on Com6 to work. Anyone else has the problem

I have found that the scroll function is inconsistent - In Outlook, I can use it to scroll down through a list of messages, but I can not use it to scroll down inside an opened message. The buttons for open and close work fine, but if I open a menu (Like Today), I can't scroll through that either.

Intellisync 5.5.0 works, unlike WM5 where the data file could point to either the local or network ini file WM6 requires it to point to the profile on the local drive.

You will always have that cus the Wizard does NOT have a backup batt, so when you take out the batt, it will go back to default settings!!!

Has anyone else noticed their wizards missing calls and txts since updating to WM6? It seems to have the same problem that the AKU3.x ROMS have with missed calls, but not as bad. So far I've noticed that I'll miss a call if the phone has been in standby for a couple of hours. Wake it up and phone calls start coming through again. I'm using 2.47 radio from molski's 2.26 final rom, and had no problems with missed calls before I replaced 2.26 with WM6.

as for missed calls, i think i have the same problem, or it may be that im using the internet, because i noticed that if ur online and data is being transfered, you wont get phone calls....

Strange problem with startup apps. It seems the last item to run at startup will not run and cause the "The file **** cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found..." error message to pop up. I had smenu and smartskey in startup and smartskey would always cause that error, but smenu started up fine. I removed smartskey from startup and now smenu is causing that error message. Both apps run fine when started manually.

I am having this problem with voice speed dailing. i figured out how to make it work with the button of the phone but it's not working with the button of the bluetooth headphone, everytime i press the button the voice speed dial is not starting so i can enter say a name but instead it's connecting to the phone mode. I never had the problem with other roms.
Second problem i am having is hiding the SIM contacts, I have heard of registry editing technique for WM5, but it does not apply for crossbow, i could not locate that key to edit in this rom. Can anyone help me how I can hide the SIM card contacts from showing when i hit the contacts button, or any way to put them all the way in the bottom of the list (like in old ROMs). Or is there any program that does it for me.

Hiding Sim contacts does work in WM6. If the registry entry is not there, add it and it'll work. At least it does for me.

Well i'm using PDAVIET3 and i can install yahoo go, which is what i use for yahoo mail...but when you go to actually open an email for yahoo, it's completely blank and it doesn't even allow you to reply...another problem with that is that yahoo's mail settings are blocked so you can't even try to change any settings...any help?

WM6 Orwells version, when trying to play a video file in MediaPlayer I get the following error:

The source filter for this file could not be loaded.

Has anybody got the same problem with this rom?
Record a movie with the cam and then try to play it in WMP, then you should get the error!

Did anybody find a fix for for WMP in WM6? All I get is a black screen(no video) at best. Most times its an error. I tried all the WM6 roms i could find and they act the same. PockeStreamer links connect, but only sound, for example. Its realy the only problem I have right now with the PV3 rom, that I found for now. I often use WMP which plays mms://www... , Does anyone know a Fix or an alternative with WindowsMediaPlayer's functions? Please, help!

There's a fix (not an easy one) in the PDAVIET3 thread.

The thing is i do have VC 1.6 in my phone, it's when I press my headphone button the voice command is running, but I want it to run voice speed dial like the old ROM used to do. (I have recorded voice tags for few contacts)

I tried to play with registry but could not resolve it. However i was able to assing the button 4 on my phone to sddial which does what i want only with phone though.
i do not have problems with incoming calls, i can pick them up with head phone, when i dial someones number the headphone picks it up. It's just I cant press the button to activate the darn speed dial.

Any help will be appreciated.

There is no backup battery in the Wizard because it isn't needed since WM5 no longer stores files in volatile RAM, it's all ROM based now.

I keep getting this roaming message when i manualy try to send/recieve mail through xpress mail or even over gprs for my pop3 account, is there a way to fix that? i tried going into the scheduling of active sync but it wont let me even pick it.

I have used A2DP and it worked great the first time i flashed to wm6 but after flashing to another rom then back to wm6 it stars to skip i think its the bloutooth range that has a problem or my head phones but it worked without skipping the first time i tried it. i havent had time to sovel my problem but i think a reflash will solve it, i hope:(

its very fast, but i have some questions.

Just to mention a compatability issue. I can't get GPSInfo to work with pv3. For those wondering what GPSInfo is, it is a program that works in hand with globalsat bt gps units. If anyone thinks they might be able to help please pm or email me for more pecific info.

you just pair the two devices and your set. no hacks no anithing just like other roms that came with A2DP.

The memory usage i cant help you because im on a trip and just have my wizard with me but i think i would go down between 11 to 15 of ram running windows media but im not sure. sorry:(

i dont think that its active at the moment...havnt tried it...but i Microsoft said in their WM6 announcement that the vendor will be able to issue updates through the phone...so im assuming Windows Update will be made for your cell phone provider...

Since I upgraded to "PDAMobiz_Wizard_Crossbow_AKU3.3_v.3311_G3_only"
my HTC will not let me upgrade to anything anymore.. once I run the "ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe" utility for any version of software including the original PDAmobiz file..
the phone will shutdown when it is supposed to but will not restart.
Now if I hit the reset button it will reboot just fine, it will not go to the colored bars but will boot like nothing ever happened.

it seems like it is freezing from automatically restarting.

any ideas?

i have heard the 2.47.11 radio causes some missed/dropped calls with wm6 and AKU3.X roms. The 2.19.11 radio is known to be much better with regards to missed or dropped calls. I do not know if the new 2.61.11 radio has the same problems as the 2.47.11 radio? Anyone trying it with a 3.X rom or WM6 can chime in if they know for sure.

Anyway, when in doubt read the wiki. Downgrade your ROM, upgrade to the original shipped ROM, then finally, upgrade to the ROM you want.

when I run the update utility the phone goes down like it will reboot but just shuts off. it no longer restarts to continue the update. therefore I have no option than to just manually reset the phone.. it will no longer let me reset it.

Here's a case of the search function really working:
This function had always worked for me, then suddenly quit and I didn't know why; I searched the forum, came across this post, looked at my registry setting and it showed flags2=22. I set it to 8 with Resco Explorer, and immediately I had my function back.

- Bluetooth Syncing is still in its infancy; I got it to work three times, but after that - no dice. I am hesitant, however, to put the blame on Microsoft as Bluetooth on its own is a nasty hack anyways.

- Whenever I call a place that requires me to punch in some numbers or whatever, for whatever reason, they aren't able to pick up on it - any place. I can dial just well and I see that I'm punching the numbers in, but they're just not transmitting.

Any suggestions or fixes would be appreciate for the above problems.

if you're experiencing missing phonecalls and or messages, try a different radio rom. im currently using 2.61 ( the latest) i havent encountered any troubles yet, as far as i know 2.47 was buggy and 2.19 was perfectly stable on my device. just try it out :)

When connected to my wireless network, if I click the WiFi antenna icon in the start bar, I am given the option to turn on WiFi rather than turn it off -- it doesn't seem to toggle with WiFi state.

- BT PAN (haven't tried it but it should be there)
- HTML Email
- Better designed Message application (accounts are more easily reached)
- different notification icons for text or email msgs
- Remote Desktop: much better than terminal services client
- Smartdial included in phone application. No more HTC's external smartdial app.
- Improved contacts application

I know this rom is not perfect/complete but it is really a gooooood starting point!

I have also tried taking a picture with the flashlight turned on in CoolCamera on my G4 locked 8125 running Orwell WM6. No avail... Can I find Faria's cam-fix somewhere? Searched my butt off. (FTP doesn't have it.)

Sidenote: I would love to see a list of all the fixes compiled in one thread or even one post if possible. I am too new to do it myself and therefore implore the help of those greater than I.

(I haven't tried the bluetooth sync yet, although I was able to share my Edge connection with vista over bluetooth very very easily!)

I have 2 minor issues. I am using PDAViet3.

First on is that the pictures don't show up in the contacts list anymore. they show if I select the contact but not in the main list.

second is if I do the quick dial on the phone like "566" for "Jon", "Jon" is display in the little list but if I use the DPad to try to select it the list changes to my recent calls list. I don't think it did that in the stock wm6 rom, might be a PV3 specific issue.

I'm guessing it doesn't work for the same reason you need to upgrade to the Beta Activesync for Windows to use it.

What you need to do is quite the opposite. Put in the german code of 0407.
The locale is for what the hardware is not the lang you are running.
Here are the steps:

1. HKCU >> ControlPanel >> Keybd
create string named Locale and put 4-digit code of your keyboard (my german wizard with WM6.0 WWE ROM uses 0407)

2. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> 1 >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code (in my case, I changed e0010409 to e0010407)

3. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code (in my case, I changed e0010409 to e0010407)

4. exit registry editor and continue to operate your device for few minutes. After that, softreset. Caution: sometimes your wizard "forgets" to write modifications to your registry, so repeat this procedure 'till it works.


If you do this to the stock rom it does break predictive text.

PDAViet3 (WM6) has it set up like this by default with predictive text woking. There must be a tweak to get it back.

Biggest problem I had with WM6 was the ActiveSync changes that Microsoft made for WM6. Any attempt at syncing email over GRPS results in "Attention required" and the error:

The security certificate is not valid. Contact your Exchange Server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server.

Well, our exchange server has a valid veri-signed certificate for its public address. I've tried installing the certificate manually on the Wizard, but still the same error.

As I can't seem to find a way to stop WM6 complaining, am downgrading back to Faria 3.3

I had the same issue, try downloading and loading this certificate to your MDA..... Equifax_Secure_Global_eBusiness_CA-1_DER.cer

That worked for me....only time it didnt work for me was w/PDAv4......every other rom has worked just fine after installing this cert.

I was also using pdaviet4 when the certificates weren't working, sounds like the same problem as you. Did you try crossfire underground, or any 'true' wm6 version working with the certs? faria is a great piece of work, but i'd much rather be running wm6.

Just installed it yesterday on one of my MDAs. Haven't installed any apps yet. Gonna give it a good run first, then will install. So far runs good. All default apps working, including camera.

As mentioned:
no MMS, but ArcSoftMMS can be installed
camera app "hidden": copy file camera.lnk from /windows to /windows/start menu/programs
need AS 4.5 to sync

The smartdialer is even smarter. It mixes your last called list from Call History, your Speed Dial and then your contacts all on the main screen. You can hide the keypad as well. Numeric keypad looks smaller now though.
Windows update, I wonder what they're going to update here :)
OS-ROM update only (it kept my splash screen, radio roms)
Internet Calling is provided for SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) for VoIP, probably works with Windows Live, but I don't use Live so I don't know. I'm sure Skype will work on here as well, but haven't tried it out recently and on this ROM.

I have been using PDAViet 4 for over a week now and have no problem. You will need to hit the reset button before the extended ROM about to run after you have installed your ROM. If you don't hit the reset button, PDAViet 4 will install whatever you have in your extended ROM. The cook forgot to disable that feature which was included in PDAViet 3. PDAViet 3 has some files in the extended ROM. PDAViet 4 doesn't have anything in the extended ROM. Therefore, if you don't hit the reset button, you will install a lot of junk which will make the ROM unstable.

Works better than previous attempts in that the Camera functions. But I can't seem to download email, and my pocketgcalsync won't connect. It also doesn't seem to sync with my outlook calendar, though contacts are syncing fine.

Any insight out there on potential registry hacks and such?

I got PDAviet 3, and after upgrading, automatically it installed few essential programs and fixed camera bug.

Now i need help with these bugs.

--On keyboard, when Z and Y letters are switched. Whenever I press a Y, i get a Z letter, and the opposite.

--Same goes for ',' Whenever I press a '.' (dot) i get a comma and reverse.

--When device is idle (in the hybernation mode, when u press a power button), from time to time it turns on by itself. WTF??

-- Also my internet settings got messed up. Cingular settings that are described on their support forum do not work. Anybody have a Cingular CAB file??

--Wife connection sucks. Before i used to connect to hotspot flawlessly, now it sees the connection, but cannot connect to it.

--Internet Explorer is very slow (as a program) and sometimes locks up and freezes

--BATTERY drains very fast.

if you type keyboard fix in the search tab you should find something that help i deleted the local reg setting in the registry that worked i got the info from another thread but if you search for it you will find it

I'm running on Vista, Outlook 2007, WM6 PV3.
I get this error message on Windows Mobile Device Center:
View status%ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop.

I've been able to sync just fine but for some reason, I tried today and I got that message. I restarted to phone and computer, deleted the partnership and created a new one. It even erased all my contacts and calender data on the phone. Anyone know how I can get it to sync again without un-installing outlook?

I recently purchased a kjam.

I want to upgarde the rom to WM6. Just downloaded the ff wm6 upgrade (a) helmi version and the (b) PDAviet.

In the helmi verson I encountered:
1) Country error.
2) Then after moving the nk to the country error folder, I am getting a communication error. My PPC keeps on discounting from my CPU when I press upgrade..

WHAT I AM DOING WRONG ????

In the PDAViet:
1) When I ran the upgrade - THERE IS AN ERROR AGAIN in COMMUNICATION ? Again, the PPC keeps on disconnecting from the CPU

-sms app has left button mapped to "delete". I'd really like it to be "new". I read it before in these forums as well but havent found a fix yet.
-I disabled cleartype, but in pocket internet explorer and in messaging app when creating mail (probably html as well) but also sms text it is still on.

I'm using the Underground Crossbow , and it apparently has Adobe 2.0 built in. However , this version does not have reflow ( or else i'm unable to find it ) , so reading is not all that fun . I'm also unable to install the Adobe reader : it fails to intall after the .cab file is copied :( any suggestions ?

Try getting it to the 3 color screen (Hold the Camera button in and push the power button for 2 seconds) and then running the rom update utility. Hope that helps u upgrade/downgrade ur ROM. I'd reccomend first going to an official release before loading any other ROM

I tried the black vista skin (second from bottom). It installs fine, but you can't call the Last Number Called by hitting the dial button on the phone. You have to do that through the contacts. Not even hitting the dial button on the skin causes it to dial the last number called.

Anyone found a fix to this one yet?

Hey fellaz, I didnt read of anyone having this issue, or else I missed over it, but I am having an issue similar to when using AKU3.X roms with Pauly-a skins, when in voicemail or any call that require input from the keypad, the buttons are not responding to the commands.

I had done a fresh flash twice and both times I had no problems when first testing it out after the flash, but eventually they become unusable again while in call, and this is the original dialpad with WM6 and not a custom one from pauly-a or anyone else.

This seems to happen after installing apps and seeting up direct push in which works flawlessly, but tried to install programs individually and test afterwards to see what problem causes, but none, but as time passes they become unusable.

Anyone expierence this or know workaroud. By the way this is Underground Edition. Thanks in advance.

Ok, I figured out the issue here, I have done maybe 9 hard resets now just to figure out my problem, and I think I have now found it.

After installing PP_GPRSandEDGE_DTMF.cab and doing and soft reset, when calling voicemail or anything that has to deal with an input of numbers after calling in, the buttons do not respond.

As I stated in the post above, I remember having the same problems in the AKU 3.x roms as well and I remember someone saying that has always been a problem with those roms, so I'm wondering could that be the cause of the problem??

Is there anyone with T-Mobile, using this ROM and is able to get online and use phone with no problems, willing to share there T-Mobile connection cabs to access the internet?

or is there an different approach to this problem that I have not see or been aware of??

****EDIT**** OK, I found an solution for this whole situation.......I think, went to t-mobiles site to get settings for internet access and Im back on, and not only that the phone, at the moment, is working properly, as well as MMS. So for now Im happy, but imma test it a bit, and install all my other proggys and see if I end up back to my same situation.

Also found something new. Since yesterday my GPRS icon changed from a G to an E. I guess that stands for EDGE but my provider doesn't have Edge (100% sure).

I had a similar problem on my last Molsi ROM. Calendar notifications suddenly had the phone icon (like missed call) and not the calendar bell. Rebooting doesnt solve this.

I have an unlocked G3 Wizard currently running Molski 2.x, so I know my phone is unlocked.

I have tried both the Underground and Most Beautiful WM6 roms, and both crash at 95-96%.

I flashed my phone all the way down to a 1.x rom prior to the install, as I have done in the past with all other WM5 roms. After the WM6 install fails, I am able to flash the Molski 2.x on top of it and get my phone back up and running.

I thought that maybe this 1.x rom is just too old and that it could be causing the failure, but I am unable to test this theory because the base Cingular OEM rom from HTC's site will not install. It scans my phone, puts it into bootloader mode, and then quits with an "Upgrade Error." After this, I have to load a radio update to get the phone working again.

Hopefully somebody a little more experienced with the WM6 process has seen this problem before and can help me resolve it. Thank you.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I still cannot get WM6 to take on my phone. I get errors on my screen while running the program such as "Unable to open file" eventhough the software reports that it worked OK.

The part I really do not understand is that of all the roms I have tried in the last 2 days, only 2 work. 1 is a very old 1.xx version that I flash prior to upgrading to a custom rom, and the other is the 2.26 Molski Final.

Even the Cingular OEM rom bricks my phone.

Hello, i have a few problems with Crossbow Underground. No sound atall! music wont even play in Media Player, the Radio didn't work atall, no messages or calls could be made. And it was rreeeeeeaaaallllllyyyyy slow! you'd have to press things two or three times to get it to respond sometimes. Can anyone offer any solutions? I'm probably gonna go back to Faria's AKU 3.3.

I was able to get rid of the message by removing the roaming indicator. The actual steps I used were to remove ArcsoftMMS, change the registry for the roaming indicator, reboot and then I was able to connect without the message. I reinstalled Arcsoft and remain message free. Hope this helps.

Hi guys , I've been running WM6 crossbow for almost a month and one major bug I see that from time to time,the wizard refuses to come back from standby.This especially happens if I don't answer a call , ( and thus ) leave the amber light blinking , and then try to switch it on after some time.

I am now running XDA Live 2.01 and media player will not play stereo to my Plantronics 590a headset. When I adjust the volume I get the beeps into the headphones and the little Headphone+Music symbol is in the top bar, but audio only comes out of the built in speaker or wired headphone if i plug it in.

Strange (although likely not related to the problem) is that when I long-push the "phone answer" button on the headset (used to signal voice dial) I start to get mono low quality sound (hands free seems to be activated) sound for about 4 seconds and then back to nothing.

Note that the media control buttons all work correctly (pause, forward/reverse) and the headset works fine for phone calls, just no A2DP function at all. This worked with WM5...

I get this with TomTom 6. I have TomTom set as the 2nd to last plugin on the Today screen and following a soft-reset it intermittently doesn't appear (doesn't appear more than it does appear). Going to Settings, Today and Items and then just clicking 'OK' restores it.

I have just been living with it since this must be the ROM (MB) I have least soft-reset. I am hoping this is just a bug in this build of WM6 and it will be fixed in one of the upcoming releases :rolleyes:

I'm running the Underground Edition of WM6, and my problem is the G/E icon keeps on going off and gets replaced by an "x" symbol, indicating GPRS/EDGE is not available. This however is not true, since with WM5, this never happens. I have tried Radio ROM 2.19, 2.25, 2.47 and 2.61, all except 2.61 have the same manifestation, but 2.61 has the "missed call" problem.

I upgraded to MB yesterday from Faria’s 3.3 (which is super stable by the way). Although I don’t run nearly as many apps as most of you do, I did run into the standard set of problems; my BT headset worked once and only once after the upgrade, I re-paired (is that a word?) it with the wizard and it worked once..no so good. The issues I found that were odd, I tried to load PHM Registry Editor and the MSI refused to load it saying the application wasn’t for my device. I know it works I see it talked about all over the place. Also the Cingular CABs didn’t seem to change anything, for example the MediaNet data in the P_Conn_CWS_APR12_Wizard.cab doesn’t show up after running the CAB and soft reseting. Same thing with the Cingular mms CAB, no change what so ever.
Anyhow, in the end I went back to Faria’s 3.3 I need the stability more than I need the latest and greatest. Hopefully the next couple WM6 ROM will have all the bells and whistles that the 3.3 does.

Hi- Like many I've had some challenges with getting my bluetooth headset(s) to work properly with WM6. I have found a resolution that I would like to share.

The only time I can get the unit to successfully pair and keep the BT settings is when I set the headset to discovery and look for new devices on the unit. Before I was using the feature where it automatically asked if I wanted to pair but would only work one-time. Meaning when I turned the headset off it would never work with the pda again, even though it was defined in the BT settings. So I tried the old fashion way of pairing using the built in routines and it works consistently now. I can turn the BT headset off/on and it always re-established a link My headsets:
Bluespoon
& Plantronics

I have 1.6 Voice Command loaded and both headsets work fine with it. I can call up VC and ask what I want. In addition I can call and hang up as I please.

Anyways not sure if other have seen this but thought I would pass it on.

Have you tried it the other way around? ie. Turn off your handset and turn it back on or walk out of range then walk back in range and see if it automatically pairs up again? I was able to do this when I was using an AKU3 rom but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

The only problem I want to be solved with crossbow is problem with speed-dial or dial pad. I think it is the problem that all wm6 have. When entering the phone screen and starting dialing a number the list of numbers shown can only be scrolled up and down by using the screen. Is there any way to make up and down buttons do the job? It really irritates using the tiny scrol line on the screen.

Edit Smartskey.ini and set the dpad to 0 to turn it off. Then you can scroll to your hearts content on the speed-dial...

I was able to get rid of the message by removing the roaming indicator. The actual steps I used were to remove ArcsoftMMS, change the registry for the roaming indicator, reboot and then I was able to connect without the message. I reinstalled Arcsoft and remain message free. Hope this helps.

I love the WM ROMs with all their beauty and speed. But just one thing forces me to come back to WM5: Modem Link does not work.
You may know that in WM6 and WM5 AKU 3x the Modem Link is replaced with Internet Share. But this app does not support using my phone as a dial up modem, i.e. to dial a number directly from my PC which is connected to the phone via USB or IR instead of getting access to the Internet from PC through the GPRS of the phone. You may argue that why not using GPRS. But the problem is that not everywhere on earth is covered with GPRS signal while GSM is likely.

I managed to extract the files ATCIUI.exe and ATCMDINT.DLL from the original MiniS WM5 ROM (attached). However when I copy the files to window in WM6 and got Modem Link running, it returns error when I hit the Activate command (Unsupported or ...Connection used by ActiveSync).

Anyone has a solution for this. If going with WM6, I miss the Modem Link. But coming back to WM5 to get Modem Link, I miss WM6, there're so many WM6 ROMs have been released and will be released.

Battterystatus 0.03 works perfect. PQZII can't insert symbols, otherwise it also works.

I am not having any luck getting PQZII to run on WM6...does anyone know of a fix for it?? Thanks
