View Full Version : G4 ROMs & TomTom 6

Hi All,

I have a G4 MDA Vario (IPL & SPL 2.21.0001)

I have had it unlocked using IMEI-CHECK (paid the dosh!)

I have tried the latest Molski G4 ROM (RUU_Molski.Biz_Faria_AKU3.2-3000_3000_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G4.exe) but the phone keeps freezing up when using TOMTOM 6.
I loaded it again but still the same.
I then tried the AKU2.3 Molski G4 ROM (RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G4.exe) but this did not seem to be much better.

I want to try the latest T-Mobile ROM, (RUU_Prodigy_2210206_22102109_021911_TMO_UK_WWE_Sh ip.exe) but the T-Mobile site only has this one ROM version for the MDA VARIO, whereas the MOLSKI ROM for example has a G3 & G4 version.
Does the T-Mobile ROM update check if it is a G3 or G4 and apply the correct ROM update automatically?
I don't want to brick it!!

Qu 1) Basically can I use the latest T-Mobile ROM, (RUU_Prodigy_2210206_22102109_021911_TMO_UK_WWE_Sh ip.exe) on an unlocked G4????

Qu 2) OR can someone advise me on a good stable ROM to use for an unlocked G4 that will work OK with TomTom 6??

Any help would be appreciated.

I've got no problems using Tomtom 6 on all the ROM's I flashed until now. I think the TMO rom has IPL/SPL in it. I wouldn't load it but recook it myself without those parts to make sure it doesn't break the G4.

Cheers Vippie. I definitely get problems with the G4 phone I have. It also sometimes goes funny with other programs. Maybe it is my SD Card? I will try a different one and see if that improves things.

I have tried an old 512Mb mini SD Card (Apacer) with TomTom 6 on it and it seems to work OK (formatted as FAT). Runs TomTom 6 up every time and does not freeze.

If I put in a 2Gb Sandisk Mini SD card (FAT or FAT32) it locks up.

If I put in a 4Gb Mini SD Card (Supposedly Sandisk) (FAT32) it locks up.

I am going to try a different ROM and see if that helps.
