Hi,
As I understand things, under Windows Mobile 5, both the user and system(ROM) file system and are stored in the same piece of 128Mb flash. How does windows CE differentiate between files in these two locations? For example, what stops me from modifying a file stored in the ROM portion of the flash? I've had a read of the wiki and it seems that it is possible to modify the extended ROM, can the same trick be performed with the OS ROM without having to re-flash the entire device? Finally, does anyone have any details regarding the exact procedure a hard reset performs, I assume it just clears the user portion of flash?
