Guys, this is major. We need someone to hack or create a driver. It seems most existing hardware from lst 1.5 year can be defined to accept the new cards. This is becoming an issue with Microsoft and e phone maker not creating driver or providing upgrades though we end spending more than a PC's share of dough on a phone.
8GB of raw storage. This is beinf supported in Treo and they have found a hack from the 680 model and seems it work for other models too once they copy the driver.
Can this be a new project, create a driver for WM5 to read and work with SDHC 2.0, high speed high level cards.
Why aren't this phone companies or microsoft providing us with upgrade the way they do for PC.

I would suggest that you don't do this and just wait a while.

Hopefully it won't be necessary to develop a new driver.

Has anyone heard anything new on this?? My 4gb sd card just died & I need to get a new one. Regular 4gb sd cards are seeming to be a bit rare now days, everything I see is 4gb sdhc.

vijay, you suggest just wait a while? What does this mean? Wait for a new device. A new driver, or an updated rom? Curious what timeframe you suggest waiting for as well.

I'm using a standard SD 4gb. I want the 8gb SDHC. I have tons of my music on my card. There MUST be a way to do it!! They told us that wm6 could not support the 240x240 display, how can they explain this http://www.intomobile.com/2007/03/27/palm-announces-treo-750-wm6-update-hsdpa-for-cingularatt-customers.html
If they can update the 750 to wm6 then everyone w/ the 700wx should get the update too!!

"advised to wait" ho hum ...
I'm sorry, but this is a post typical of this "debate" over SDHC. "Waiting for Godot" - a stage play perfectly describing such a post !
Until we KNOW the hardware & software developers are actually in the same universe, we have to do it ourselves.
