WM6 PDAViet 2 rom - bugs, fixes and stuff

Well since WM6 is giving me some problems im going to try the PDAViet 2 WM6 rom... im installing it in 1 hour, so are there any new stuff people who are using it found out so i cant start to fix it before using it ???

Ok, very nice rom !
No customisation afer first run....

has magic button X in the install
Camera is fixed
Has TASK MANAGER installed
Has latest POCKET RAR 3.60 installed
psShutXP is on there
SMS Backup
Tray Launch
WM5sTORAGE
DisplaySwitch
pBAR (not english, but very cool)

Looks like battery problem is not there...
Free memory is 20 megs....

Just change this for keyboard :
\HKCU(HK Current User)\ControlPanel\Keybd\
change string "Locale" value from "0407" to "0409"

after install and some customisation and some 3rd party apps that are really needed, i have 31.56 megs free.... thats before inserting SD CARD... after that, there is 23.10 mesg free.... i have BATTI running and smartskey, and curently nothn on the today screen ...

thats for now, ill leave 9100 run in this state, so i see if the battery is running out too fast or not...

One more "little" bug..

the camera is working and its a 3.3 version (probably got it from faria :) ), but they did not include any template in My Documents\Templates, so you will have to copy at least one template from other OS there or you will get errors in camera when switching to template function...

and for those COOLCAMERA freaks, there is also an NIGHT option in the normal camera.. in settings in AMBIENCE put the NIGHT and it will make better picutres in dark places...

really!? man, i just cant seem to settle into a ROM! theres so many WM6 ones coming out, pv is just going nutz!

your cant play the recorded files from the cam in windows media...umm i fixed the mms so thts working great...battery does die a bit fast...dont know why?

check out those posts...the settings are there for TMOBILE USA, and what i did under that...let me know if it works out

Ok, after 8 hours here is the results :

Battery dropped from 73% to 70% ... thats standard, since i was kinnda using it before going to sleep so the drop to 73% was faster couse it was on... but the bug is not in the OS i guess, last WM6 i was using it dropped from 80% to 30%...

now the memory... when i went to sleep there was 21.63 meg of memory ... now after 8 hours there is 21.61 free memory... so i guess no memory leak in OS... have Resco keyboard, batti and smartskey running jouced to 264mhz.. and resco explorer with plugins, resco picture viewer... but this apps are not running all the time

now lets install some other apps :)

Ok, the MEMORY problem with font cache :

FONT CACHE supposed to be cache for rendering and screen stuf... and here is where they got it WRONG...
the HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\limit is set to 16384 , but NOT DECIMAL !!! its HEXA that means its like 92XXX somthn !!!! thats WAY WAY TOOOO MUCH and thats WHATS BEEN hitting the MEMORY so HARD... setting that to DECIMA 16384 / hex 4000 , gets you 5 megs of memory BACK !!!!

Now installing other apps, and after that, sync with PC to get all the contacts and data...

im kinnda worried for the WeatherPannel and for Photo Contacts PRO apps... they are the last two who are running all the time that i didnt install yet... maybe they have memory problems and battery drains ?

Ok, i managed to install all the SW i use, just skipped that weather today plugin, and i get 26.22 megs of free ram after tunning it up as described allready... thats good news..

now lets see about battery and ram usage after 2 hours... ill keep you posted :)

Ok, seems like its working..

After 2 hours of using device like every day, few calls, some BT activity, only 6% of battery dropped, thats normal...

Ram went from 26 to 24 megs, since i ran almost all the apps i have installed, so no strange thing there...

in 12 hours when i go to sleep, i will see how the memory drops in 10 hours of not even touching it, and how the battery drops... if thats goes OK, its time to final install , thats the Photo Contacts PRO and weather plugin.

thats not just a fix.. u need to install ARCSoft MMS Composer .. search the forum where to get the .cab

OK here is the deal...

the pda lost 8% of battery during my sleep, so thats 8% in about 9 hours... battery is good !

I tweaked it to 299mhz by batterystatus 003, and its running stable and without any problems, the tcpmp reports a 254mhz tunned up pda :) so its like 264mhz in smartskey with omap app...

there are 2 more things i need to install until im totaly finished with this, and thats the weatherpanel and the multiIE... if thats survives, i will stay on this rom for ever :D its working, its fast, it has more then enough memory left (24,7) when everything including photo contacts pro (which takes 1.7 megs of ram) is installed...

so people, finaly a stable, working rom...

the best part for me is the BIG fonts in MESSEGING if you make them just 1 slide bigger then default in the screen app. thats really cool.. and the smsdrfix is working, and thats all for now...

I uninstall smsdrfix, 'cose I have a problem with "attempt to restart shell". I'm not 100% that smsdrfix causes the problem, but looks that way.
