If i read correctly i beleive there is a pdaviet 3 out now. i have a copy but have not had a chance to try it out. i will inform you guys on how it goes. Supposedly they say that wmstorage is fixed. this is what is said

i just installed v3 of wm6....i liked it...until i tried to change ma device name.... all the symbols are messed up can some one fix this fast.....

and also the "y" and "z" keys are mixed up

Just wanna tell you that this is a sensitive case (if you read some comments on PDAViet's ROM some days ago - the thread was already removed). So please don't post the ROM on this forum without the permission from admins and moderators here, plus the permission from PDAViet.
Actually, those guys of PDAViet are great in cooking ROM. However, as a result of the above mentioned issue, they don't want to publicize their ROM until they are officially permitted.

for some odd reason, none of the other WM6 versions would work. only this version 3.0 would install without errors.

Im actually using this ROM right now and i like alot better than v2. with this one im getting about 21 mb's of ram. and also with this one i've noticed that the battery doesnt run down as low as the other versions. One thing i did not like as how sim manager waS not in the programs menu. i had to manually put it there but all is well now. I'll keep the updates coming guys. oh yeah and guys please dont post links to these ROMS, I know for a fact none of us want this awesome site being taken from us. I really appreciate your guys time and efforts. :-)

Is it possible to create/download one registry key (which you can import on your device's registry) in which all recommended performance tweaks are build in and all other recommended tweaks? For instance all the tweaks mentioned here http://www.pocketpctweaks.com/pocketpc_tweaks/view_all_tweaks and in the xda wizard wikki.

Would be great to just import one file instead of doing all those tweaks all over again one by one. Saves a lot of time if you like to keep up with the newest WM6 roms :-)

Actually - no, it wouldn't. After installing all my apps and my registry changes I have more than 31 MB free!
I haven't tried version 1 and 2, but this versions have all the changes founded in this forum, they even remove faria logo :) So , if you want to start with crossbow, use tis rom.

tried the 3 versions, liked the 3rd one, but all of them had the z and y keys interchanged so you need to edit the correct registry, what i dont like is the lag when you press the message button on the upper left it takes a couple of seconds(8secs) for the messaging to start

it is wm6. there are only 2 roms for wizard: original chinese and wwe vesion (orwell, pdaviet 1, 2 and 3), which is not original wizard wm6 rom, but universal wm6 rom with drivers from chinese wm6. both missing extended rom and lot of features that comes within it.

I actually thought that it was understood that we will NOT give out links to this ROM. Using the search on xda-developers works great to find the link.
Try searching for PDAVIET, in Wizard Upgrading, showing POSTS not threads. you should be able to find the link easily.

It is getting very annoying that every post concerning a ROM (especially WM6 ROMS) contains 50% posts asking for links!!!!!

Installed Version 3 (had orwell before, caused a big battery drain).
V3 seems quite better in that respect.

Got a question however:

With V3, there are about 5 or 6 icons on the today screen (tray).
Normally, one can get rid of them by deleting the file Init_Tray.exe in the startup folder. This file can be deleted also with V3.

However, 2 icons remain: the BT icon and the ScreenRotate icon

This is caused by 2 programs in the Startup folder:_bt_tray.exe and
ScreenRotateTray.exe.

Problem is that they cant be deleted !

With the Universal, these icons are controlled thru HKLM/Services.
Wizard is not the same.

Any pro got an idea how to get rid of these "bastard-icons" ?

Help would be very much appreciated.

After installing this cab on a clean PDAVIET rom you should have 27 mb memory again.

Of course wait a few minutes after installing before rebooting you're device to make sure the changes are saved.

ok so anyone notice issues with this rom tending to drop signal and not regain it? i know that has to do with GSM issues which this rom doesnt touch.....but....i dont fully drop signal i just have no bars exepect the recpition icon and then it just hits there til i soft reset.. it was like that for 20mins eariler.. never experienced this b4.. im running 2.47 radio.. any ideas?

hehe no problm, just that everyone can enjoy the ROMs !

The dialpad problem is a solution the DPAD=0, but if u did not set the smartskeys by yourself the ini file is in the windows folder, it needs to be edited and then put back there couse the smartskeys are run from the windows folder since they are included in the rom and active in startup.

My advice is to delete the smartskey.lnk from the startup folder, make your own dir with executables in the program files, and there edit the ini file, and then run the executable there, it will create a link in the startup folder to your app and customisation....

I was using smartskey to speed up my pda, but something happend that overclock wasnt working anymore so i use now smartskey for key stuff, and batterystatus for tunning the pda, the combination is cool.

Iinally this Rom from PDA Viet is usable, softkeys react very fast even of lot of soft that I install mine device.

so the registry fixes/tweaks are copyrighted? ... i admit some things were "stolen" from faria but you're acting as if this was the worst rom you have ever had.
I am using pdaviet3 and I think its great. I respect faria's work but sadly I have had a few issues with the ROM's created (may be my fault, may be the ROM's fault) but I guess as long as you get a version that works for you - use it! I actually even prefer this ROM since it doesnt have as many applications included. Having 20 programs where i need 5 is kinda overkill. I prefer installing what I need and keeping the rest free.
PDAVIET3 gives me 40mb free space and 23mb of ram with all my programs installed and running. I don't think I will be switching back to wm5.

To sum it up: find the ROM that YOU are happy with and use it. There is no point in complaining about ROM's or trying to make others use a ROM that you prefer/like/whatever. Its a personal choice. Nothing else.

You should create it as a dword... value 0 to hide them. I've made a little cab that does the trick. As always... wait a few minutes after installing before you reset the device. WM needs the time to save the registry.

If you put the value of ShowSim to 0 it hides the contacts from SIM. The cab does the trick.

It's very strange because of VC is already included in this rom, but it seems the older version (m.b. 1.5?)
Now i installed VC again (1.6), and it's working indeed. 10q a lot :)

I didn't want voicecommand to take my precious space if it's already integrated into the rom. Tried a lot of things. This is what works for me:

- Edit the original voicecommand cab with an editor (like winCE CAB Manager).
- make the "default installdir" %windows%.
- check the flag for all files "do not overwrite existing files".

After running this CAB and rebooting, bluetooth works and it only takes an extra 400kb of storage space.

Do not PM me for the CAB. I won't give it due to legal issues.

Voice Command is not freeware. I bought it and my solution contains editing the original version. I can't and won't post it (would be warez), but people can do the trick too.

When you install vc it install to a directory on you're windows machine. This directory contains the cab that activesync uses to install it on your device.

If you already have it just grab the rom the same way I did - basically install through the exe. This will install the rom to the device. Before you install take a copy of the rom then use the above method - then copy rom back and all set.

It seems the integrated one is 1.5 since it doesn't support blutooth headset.
The file just changed it's date because of it was saved later ;)

the patch for RAM is not ment for SD decrease of ram, since that does for several reasons, cache and so on.. the fix was for display cache, since that takes too much of it couse of the bug... so after clean install nad ram pathc you should have 25-27 megs of ram left... if not, donno why not :) worked here.

the intergrated one is 1.6.1* because it says the caller name over bluetooth on call waiting and stuff..

The whole trick mentioned above is to keep the original files in the rom. The files are not overwritten so it could still be 1.6.1*. Just tested a little bit. Checked the option "announce incoming calls". The callers name is mentioned through bluetooth when being called. Is this what you meant?

VC is not integrated correctly into the rom. I think it's a register issue, but I couldn't find the precise problem. This is only a workaround till someone has fixed it in the rom.

i have no problem going to internet in the PDA! but in compter i just can't!

-when i connect whith or whitout Activesync , it doen't create a COM port to use.
-i don't have any problem connecting whith Activesync.

Some apps with a battery meter has such bug (e.g. iLauncher v2.x).

I started from scratch....
1. I re-installed a T-Mo Rom to steal the T-Mo customizations cab
2. Re-installed ROM > installed T-Mo Cust CAB > installed > ArcSoft MMS
3. Set-up proxy
4. Installed my MMS CAB file

Everything works now......DID A BACKUP @ THIS POINT

Since you have Cingular I can only help but so much...the reason for installing T-Mo setting before ArcSoft MMS because this allows me to manually configure MMS which failed but my CAB file worked.

PM me if you need to....I didn't have to use wsp://........

Worked well on what AKU version? Because some users experienced problems from 3.x and above. Try radio version 2.19.11. It solved most signal / missed call issue's.

I used to wonder the same thing, what version of Active Sync are you using? Im using the beta 4.5. Connect to the phone via A/S then intiate the internet sharing and you be able to surf.

i suggest total commander to edit the file, or use the notepad on ur computer not the notepad on ur phone.

Same happened to me!
What radio are you using?? I've noticed that you can not just update the radio in this rom.
Install 2.19.11 and then reflash your rom. Before you start re-installing your goodyz, make a test call to your voicemail and use your key pad. It's a rough fix but it works.

1) with the pdaviet rom 2.0.0.6 if I launch tomtom or any other applications that use a lot of cpu the universal go off when the battery is at 60%!
Yesterday, I have start the photocamera software and, after three-four photo, the device go off. I have restarted it, re-launched the photo-camera and it go off again. The battery was at 72%! I has must connect the device to AC and all "go to ok".

2) If I put the destination of saved photo in the storage card, when I click on the button for the photo this message appear:
not enough memory
And is impossible to do a photo.
If I leave the setting "save photo on main memory" all work fine.

3)Is not possible to select arbitrary ringtones for the phone. I.e. if I select for the phone the ring "Pour Elise",
after I close the window of the setting, or if an incoming call arrive, remain the old ring.

I have reinstalled WM5, based on Helmi rom, and all work "fine" now!
The device go off when the battery reach 40%, if in standby when reach 27-30%.

All others problems reported in my previous message are now disappeared :)

i just loaded the most current (compiled date 2.4.07) PDAVIET on my wizard and all seems to be going quite spectacular. removed a couple startup programs (notice you can remove the rotatetray after you kill that process in task manager). Performed the keyboard trick and now everything seems to be just dandy.

I noticed someone complaining about messageing taking some time to load... well thats because smartskey is already loaded onto this cooked ROM with the right softkey defaulted to close apps instead of minimizing, also it already overclocked to 240mhz (on the top of my head), anywho just edit the smartskey.ini in the \windows folder to change any of those settings. Battery seems to be on par with a custom 2.26 build i had running for several months (that is with directpush enabled 14hours a day i can run this phone almost 48 hours without a charge)

my only quirk...is which rom version is this?! my ipl and radio version remain the same from 2.26 (aku2.3? not sure)

I am using PDAViet 3 on my g4 Prophet and everything is working fine except the following issues:

1. Charging does not take place unless charger is connected and you soft reset. This issue is found in both the usb charges as well as main charger.
2. When I installed this OS and used memmaid, it found 3 duplicate notifications. I deleted those. Now these duplicates seem to increase after every reboot. Yesterday, I saw 18, now I have 24 duplicate notifications. For info, the duplicate notifications are for the following events:
\\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\MSPPDUGat.. (cant read the rest.)
Condition: When: The system time changed.
\\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\WLMSchedu.. (cant read the rest.)
Condition: When: The time zone changed.

Can anyone help / guide me to the solution for both issues?

It is me again - can someone also guide me or direct on how I can upload my PHONE PAD in my KJAM. The qtry ketboard is helpfull for me for long SMS. For the short reply, I prefer to send SMS using the nokia way (Phone Pad). Thanks in advance for taking your time in reading this post.

Can you please tell me how you did it.
I tried it several times but it doesn't works for me.
Maybe i did someting wrong, it pretty annoying.

has anyone tried checking their voicemail? because when i checked mine i couldn't use anyone of the numbers for ex. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,#, none of those are working plz help

ok you might try this with yours, it worked on mine, on your registry editor, go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDTMFSupport change the Value from 1 to 0

like I said it worked for me but I am currently using the 2.25.11 radio rom.

anyone else having these problems, I have noticed that sometimes when I place a call whether it be to a contact or to voice mail, I find that I cannot end the call, and when it does that it will not send the dtmf tones either, maybe that is what Savage houston was referring to. and it would seem that I have a rather large battery drain as well, I have already turned on the sd card power management in the registry, anything else I might try?

Update: I fixed this problem by downgrading to the 2.19 readio rom, apparently it was a problem with the 2.26 radio rom from t-mobile.
