I was having some issues with streaming videos and radios on my HTC Hermes on cingulat network. I was getting proxy errors and server unreachable so I disabled the proxy in my medianet settings.

I was wondering if cingular is going to charge me per kb now since I'm not going through their proxy.... I have the MediaMax unlimited plan.

sorry I didn't do a search but I'm in class and this proffessor is boring the hell out of me!

I believe there is no affect on your billing if you unset the internet proxy server. The thing that can affect your billing (supposedly) is if you change the GPRS acceess point name from wap.cingular to isp.cingular. The latter is for PDA data plan subscribers only and you will be charged if you try to use it otherwise.

that is correct, i use the my isp connection on my phone which does not utilize the cingular proxy but uses the wap.cingular apn and it does still count as normal on your plan.. however if you were to change your apn to isp.cingular then you would get charged out the a$$
