WM 5 Contact Problems

I have install WM5 on my XDA2s with the Villina version the prob. is tha when i try to use my contact button it keeps closong down, i cant seem to access the contacts at all how can i solve this problem????

PS i ther a better ROM that this one that i can use if sent me the link.

u can find many ROM and fixing troubleshot there's step by step how to upgrade or downgrade u'r ROM...
try Helmi AKU 3.5 ROM it's quit stable.

Hi gitt,

I don't think it is a problem with the ROM but related to the AKU version.
If you copied your pim.vol from your previous WM5 Rom to this one and the AKU version was different (coming from 2.xx to 3.xx), then I'm pretty sure this is the problem.
So you have two options to solve your problem, but both are not straight forward, sorry:

1) Try first to do a backup using PPCBckpContacts in this ROM, if it doesn't work then you have to revert back to your previous ROM and do a backup of your pim.vol using PPCBckpContacts ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1033173 )
2) use the emulator to achieve the same ( http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C62D54A5-183A-4A1E-A7E2-CC500ED1F19A&displaylang=en )

a) launch the emulator, select a directory on your pc that will play the storage card, then replace the pim.vol by yours, do a soft rest via the emulator menu and use PPcBckpContacts to do a backup

3) use PPCBckpContacts to do the restore in your new ROM.

I have the same problem after upgrade from version BA 5.1.1700 to Helmi aku 3.5 v 1.4. Is this solution for my problem too?

Version name is BA WM5 English Rom 5.1.1700_bulid_14343_ upgrade.
I have a question. Can i format all storage and after upgrade the windows? because now when i try reinstall windows the previous version setting and programs stay there and maybe the old contacts stay there too and this is the reason why now concacts dont working.
But i dont know how i can format or delete all data in my storage. I have qtek 9060 and the soft reset is the same as hard reset (some programs not working after reset but nothing esle)

When you upgrade to a new OS version, you always have to format, otherwise you will have inconsistencies in the registry and on the disk.

Use the solution provided on first page, I don't know any other. If you can't do it, I can do it for you, if you don't mind that I can see your contacts!:)

i have backup files(contacts) from old version of windows. So if u can to herlp me i will be happy :).

I don't use ICQ, but you can send me pim.vol by mail, I will send you the corresponding backed up files that you will have to reload on your ppc using ppcbckpcontacts...

I tried using Total Commander to backup and restore. It worked fine in one machine, but when I try to restore the backup from my old PPC Phone to my new PPC Phone, it doesnt work and it happened just like that too...I tap Contact and it flashed and disappeared.
