Hi all

My colleague has recently got a Orange SPV M3100 here in the UK and is
having loads of little problems with it. I myself have an XDA II Mini S and
don't appear to have simlar troubles.

The bluetooth seems very unreliable and he has tried different headsets. I
personall don't use a BT headset

There are many strange problems on the phone like when an SMS arrives and
you goto view it sometime you cannot open the message in the Inbox
application. tapping it several times makes no difference. you can however
close the inbox app so the device does not appear to have "locked". I've
never had this on my XDA

Sometimes the right hand side of the onscreen keyboard stops working. you
still get the key tap sound but back space/enter etc do not work. I have had
this on my xda about once or twice in twelve months but the SPV seems to do it quite often.

A soft reset tempoarily cures these and other strange problems. apart from
BT

I do notice that in poor signal strength areas these devices seem to
'struggle' and I assume this is because the phone module MUST take priority
over all other functions and the device appears to 'freeze' for a few
seconds. This does seems to effect mine from time to time.

All i'm really asking are these common faults with the SPV M3100 ? I'm just
trying to narrow down if this is a one off dodgy device or the Orange front
end software is quite buggy ? or thats just the way these TyTn devices
perform. I would have expected two WM2005 devices to behave in a similar fashion.

There is no 3rd party software on the M3100 apart from the Orange suite obviously

I am a technical person but he isn't and having come form a 'proper' phone
Nokia 6310i it is driving him nuts !

Thanks in advance for any thoughts

Kind Regards

Andrew
