Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I searched the forum, but didn't find an answer.
I dim my backlight to level 3 in order to extend battery life. Whenever I have to softreset (which, alas, happens not too rarely), the backlight is back to level 6. Is there a way to permanently set the default value to a different level? I guess this should be feasible by changing some registry values. I tried changing HCKU\ControlPanel\BackLight\DefaultBrightness, but to no avail: Nothing seemed to change after a softreset.
