I tried the dial pad skin and that one sort works. I get the call log skin but no dial pad skin. I have the default skin that came with the phone so that can not be it. Unless this skin does not support Treo running WM5 with AKU 2.

I fixed the SmartDial issuie by switching the regestry value back to 1.

I still cannot get a working copy of the boot screens though. Can anyone help with that?

Nice Work !! And THANKS !! I have a new TyTN and all worked well. It came with the ugly green HTC dialer screens and the new ones are a welcomed change. The only issue I have encountered so far is that the smartphone dialing options is missing from the new skin as well as the Video Calling Button went away. When I changed the registry key back to 1, the original HTC skins and all options came back.

i had that one, but if you look closely, its sized wrong, the number box cuts into the first line of contacts and it didnt look great so i just monochromed the original. you can just adjust the bmps yourself to get what you want.

What did you change? If you're talking about the actual theme it's rather simple:
Go to Start -> Settings -> Today

Choose a new theme here and press ok ;)

No it's not! You actually have 3 screens. The first two are in the ROM, call them bootscreens. The last one is the splash screen.

It is realy simple to modify the splash screen. Just create your own: welcomehead.96.png
After this make sure you've made it Read Only, and Invisible. Then place the file in your Windows directory ;)

The other two are a little harder to change. Search the forum. There is enough info to find about this subject (specialy in the Wizard section).

You have to use a registry editor to change this. Look for Total Commander.
When you don't no what you're doing I suggest you create a backup before start messing with the registry. ;)

You should look around for CommManager files for your device. Note that you can also use different operators/manufactures like HTC Wizard/SPV M3000 etc ;)

no it isn't, the splash or boot screen is the manufacturers logo when you first switch the device on, the welcome screen is the first screen you see when windows is loading - a lot of people get these mixed up, believe me, they are VERY different

It delete only your shortcuts not delete your programs ..
If you want it back you can installed it again or create shortcut yourself by create it to folder /Windows/Start Menu and /Windows/Start Menu/Programs or worst case Hard Reset it.

Impossible! Some people would be glad if they could delete some apps you name!
The programs are probably in your \Windows\ folder, just create new shortcuts to them ;)

I'm a newbee at this but I recently ported to Sprint from NEXTEL and I have a PPC-6700 and it also has the landscape mode when I open the keyboard and switches to it the green background is smaller and the sides are grey??? is there a way of making the background landscape also? Everything looks awsome except when it switches... P.S. If nothing can be done how can I reset the phone to original state (hard reset) i think it's called?? Try TotalCommander. It has a build in registry editor.

Go to: HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin
The set: Enabled to '0'

Just like you edit your registry on your PC :) (Like everybody is editting their registry :S)

Bluecream, this is awesome. Only tiny problem is using the Crossbow theme the Magic Button parts of the top of the screen are a different colour. Doesnt' affect the WM green theme though. Any suggestions for fixing it? It's a really minor point but it'd be nice to be perfect...!

Hi! I put the WMP Crossbow Skin and it does not works on my iPAQ hw6915 (square 240x240 display - WMP Version 10.2 Build 14957).

Checking the the files, there's no square bitmat, neiter in the file that configures the skin. But I made a Square .GIF and changed the file, and it still not working. I attached here the .gif file I made.

i was able to change the phonepad, however, my loud speaker doesnt work now.

i uninstalled the phonepad skin and changed it back to 1 and do a soft reset but still my loudspeaker wont work. do you know whats wrong? pls help. anyone? thanx

I would like to let you know that I have changed the look in my Treo 750 and is almost everything working OK, the only thing I have noted not working as before is the signal intensity icon, it always loks as the same (all bars white) so I can't know when or where I have a good reception, only if the name of the operator is present or not is when I know if I have signal. I'd like that somebody could help to fix that, some of us would be very greatful about it. This is important cause in areas where the signal is weak (as my job place is) you need to know where to face or to walk to obtain better reception. Thanks in advance. :) :) :)

When I boot my PocketPC the screen where I enter my PIN (Phone Screen) is still green (HTC Skin).

I've created a CAB file for you.
It installs everything into \Windows
Except for the shortcut, this is installed in \Windows\Start Menu

Why don't these work in landscape? I get two grey bars on each side of the green wm6 theme.

I still have problems to get to use Intellidialer with the grey dialer skin (with intellidial bitmaps added to the device). I did install the smartdial cab that was supplied witht the rom.
Intellidialer only works with the Operator skin, not with the default skin (wich is now the grey one on my device.

Any clues??

I've added crossbow icon Cab File .. :)

It will change some icon on ur WM5 device looks like crossbow
ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint Mobile, File Explorer, Calculator .. etc.
