I got an Orange SPV M600 a couple of weeks ago. I played around with it and it seemed quite slow and unstable (switching off in standby mode, random resets etc). I knew about XDA developers from when i had an XDA many moons ago, so I thought I would check out some rom upgrades for the SPV.

I tried Jesters 2.2 AKU rom which speeded things up a lot..but still the random resets persisted and were starting to piss me off.

I stuck an standard rom on and wiped the ext rom and restored an orange uk ext rom and bootscreens then rang orange.

They kindly replaced the phone and since then it has been in perfect working order. running really fast and has given me no problems whatsoever.

The moral of the story......if your phone is acting up, resetting and generally being arse..it may not be the rom thats the problem but a hardware fault. The M600 is superb now and although I would like to upgrade the rom to get some of the new features from a higher AKU I am going to restrain my self from doing so as it runs so well now.

On another note, can anyone recommend a good program that provides a proper close button for apps on the spv, so the apps close instead of minimise?

I got HTC-X and this works fine for me. Does anyone have any experience with bluetooth GPS for the SPV M600? I have TomTom on an SD for my old navman PiN 570 and would like to get an external GPS for the M600 so i can use TomTom on it.
