I have used a Sandisk 2gb micro sd from DAY ONE and never had any problems with speed or the issue with losing data either.

I also have a brand new 2gb micro sd SANDISK with adaptor, brand spanking new, pre-installed TomTom with GB map too, for sale if you are interested. PM me for more details and price.
