Hello Everyone,

I was just wondering if someone was actually putting an effort at porting crossbow to the 6700?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi everyone...

I try to make an update to my Alltel PPC6700 but apparently the ROM was not the indicated one (Crossbow) and now single it remains ignited the light of the flash.

I have removed the battery, I have done reset, soft reset, hard reset and nothing…

I just got a black screen and the light of the flash all along ignited, and when I execute the RUU always says that there is no communication.

Somebody can help me?

Try hard resetting and reflashing. I tried the same rom with the same exact results. I was able to reflash with the stock rom. Be sure to go back to boot screen.

I am currently learning to write the ROM's for my Cingular 8125. Just need to know what the diffrence is between the Apache and the Wizard. Anyone got a clue? or maybe a Rom that I can work with to see.

Bump...any chance someone will step up and get WM6 going on the Apache? I don't want to flash to one of the 3.5 ROMs if Crossbow is an option. Puhleeeze! :-D

People PLEASE!!! This is being worked on. It may happen. It may not. You must be patient. When there are updates you will be publically notified. Don't expect anything and if you do get something be happy you did.

CHILL PLEASE!!! Everyone knows we want WM6 for Apache.

Just curious what "a ways off" is? A few weeks, few months, most likely never? I am patient, but simply wonder what- off the top of your head knowing the workload at hand- the rough estimated term might be.

Thanx

I have the Verizon XV6700 - which I guess is the same thing.

I'd be willing to donate to whoever provides the upgrade.
Maybe others would too to pay for the time it takes?

Guys, writing ROMs is not easy. Expecially if you dont have a base to go off. They do take time and effort. Why not help out and learn about them and see if you can cook one yourself. or at least get a project started. I would help but I dont have an Apache to just toss if I brick it.

If anyone with knowledge of porting wants to, please come over to ppcgeeks.com. There are efforts going on over there, but we are still learning and could use people whol have experience porting roms to new devices.

Edit: Heh, that file was not what I thought it was--it was a boot screen! Very embarassing... sorry about that. Helmi has an Apache now so maybe he can help (no pressure helmi!)

Much appreciate anyone's help.

Hope Faria can help. WM6 on apache would be the best gift for cdma users in the US.

first we need to port the xip section from a current aku then we can go from there. for that we need a os.nb image.

Please extrapolate on what exactly the os.nb image is. We install our custom aku 3.5 roms from a nk.nbf and nk.nba. Are one of these the os.nb image or is there a way to extract that from what we have so far? Thanks for all your help Faria.

Looks like I will be getting an XV6700 from work. I am very interested in this upgrade as I have Mobile 6 on my personal phone and really like some of the new features. Any progress update?

I've heard from helmi_c that the problem is the nk.exe which is the kernel for windows mobile. He can't seem to get the apache to boot in wm6 no matter what he's done with it... looks like a long wait if anything ahead for us
