When a rom like this will be available, and will it ever be available?
Does anyone here have certified information by HTC?
Of course beside the "facts" writen in Wiki page about 5th of the month...
Nadavi.

With Windows Mobile 6 (I heard Crossbow is going to be sixth WM) just around the corner, I hope HTC stuff that into the next ROM, along with the GPS, possible FM radio and better-use of the ATI chip.

ROTFL You don't have the xbox360 ROM on your trinity yet? I already run the xbox 720 ROM, Windows Vista 2012 and the latest ATI 3D HD SUPERFLUXCONUCTOR GPU on mine. But now the phone itself is no longer working :-(

Would you guys quit posting threads with subjects like this?
I mean, how would you like it if I started posting threads called "AMAZING NEW WAY TO DOUBLE BATTERY LIFE?" and inside it was "Hay guys, any ideas how to do this?"
Just give it another week and we'll have our damn GPS.

Well, assuming that HTC is REALLY going to post new ROMs, and assuming that HTC is REALLY going to enable GPS support in the new ROM.
Btw, any chance of getting them to enable the FM Radio while they are still in the generous mood?

I really have my doubts, first i want to have and test it and then see what this rom will bring, fm radio not sure but i really want gps and USB host.

Sorry... I forgot to tell that the test is made in Paris, France (French language web site)
But, there is no details about the ROM... However, they mentionned that the tested ROM, includes a test version of TomTom Navigator.
The article, mainly compare the performances between the Glofiish X500 and HTC P3600 GPS devices (see the pictures of article 2).

Now that's interesting.. The P3300 is sold with Tomtom pre-installed. If they are going to include the GPS in a ROM update, it's logical to start bundeling the Trinity with Tomtom too.

I own both a P3300 and a P3600 (for the moment). The big question I have is are they going to place a program like "Quick GPS" that is on the P3300 on the new HTC P3600 rom? This program downloads the latest GPS satellite info from the internet for use by the GPS chip to reduce time to initial fix. Works great on the P3300. Seems like it would really help signal acquisition on the Trinity.
However, if my google translation serves me properly, the french article posted above says that the P3600 is not capable of A-GPS. Does "A-GPS" include a program like QuickGPS that gets its information from an occasional connection to the internet? Or is it only referring to a GPS chip that constantly gets extra info from the cell towers and involves a subscription fee (like Verizon VZ Navigator)?
I have limited knowledge in this area, but it seems like QuickGPS should not be difficult to implement on any device with a standalone GPS chip. Any other info or opinions on that?

The P3300 does not have A-GPS, and does use quickGPS, so logic would tell me quickGPS is not connected to A-GPS.

Well this is my guess... HTC is holding a press conference on Tuesday, 13th February, 11:00am (Spain time, which is 10:00 am London time). Some are expecting announcements for new products, and I expect the the new GPS ROM to come out... again, this is only an educated guess... so I will keep my eye on the calender for Feb. 13th

Sorry but that is pathetic!

The distributor of HTC in Greece (Ace Hellas) confirmed that there will be an update for GPS during early April. Keeping in mind that Ace Hellas needs a month or so for the greek customization, the update from HTC will be ready by the end of the month, I think.

I'm aware that the P3600 has been released by Orange in continental Europe, but remains delayed in the UK with no explanation . Try as I might, I can't get a straight answer regarding the reason.
I'm tempted to sepculate that Orange are well aware of the teething problems identified on these bulletin boards and like us are waiting for a major ROM upgrade. Has anyone heard anything more definite?

I've been running the Dopod test GPS ROM for about a week and it works brilliantly. I've had no problems at all with it.
As for an official HTC release, I've heard from a reliable source that its release has been delayed and is scheduled for release in March.

Well I emailed HTC today, I got 2, yes 2 responses:

Now why don't they spend less time replying twice to my question, and more time fixing the ROM.
I cannot see how they can make the Dopod ROM work, yet fail to make it work on the standard trinity, which guides me to three issues:
1) Either something in the Dopod ROM is missing / broken, or may spontainously combust
2) Dopod's developers dont talk to HTC developers, despite being under the same umbrella
3) Something in the trinity is different to the Dopod versions.
Judging by the response to the Dopod ROM, 1 and 2 could be hot air or there could be something else thats stopping them. I see no reason why if the Dopod rom GPS works, that after a further 2 months, HTC wouldn't have some form of release date, and / or there be a leaked beta like there has been with other HTC roms.

I think its just that there is no official release date yet and so maybe a bit of hot air. I know they are developing it but due to the Chinese New Year approaching (when most of the development staff in China are going to be on their holidays), there is no fixed date for release yet.

I still haven't seen an official ROM from anyone. There is the Dopod WWE which we have and it works, but it is a test ROM. There is the French Orange ROM that is rumored to work, test also. It didn't get uploaded, so nobody knows if it is legit or not.
Then I just read about an Australian guy who bought a new P3600 and it has GPS enabled AND FM radio??? The ROM version he gave is higher than the Dopod.
If this is true, then this would be the first official ROM with GPS enabled...AND FM radio. If true, this phone is the most feature packed on the planet!
P3600 rumored new ship ROM:
ROM version: 1.24.709.2
ROM date: 01/14/07
Radio version: 1.31.01.15
Protocol version: 34.68.7030.08K

He said that he has two P3600s, one with the new ROM. He tried to dump the rom from the new one and load it on the second one, but it didn't work so far. There is still no screen shots to give any proof of this new ROM. Since it came from Australia, I wouldn't be surprised if they got a new rom first since they get Asian models down there.

Hi Guys!
I'm from Germany and reading in this threads about the GPS in the Trinity for a long time. Alongside i'm reading in the german forum that was allready mentioned here before: www.ppc-welt.de
In one thread in this forum a guy named cyber76 has written that he had a long telephone call with HTC Germany about the peeling problem of the black Trinity. Besides he asked how long it lasts until they would release the rom update and they answered: In 2-3 months
Shocking, isn't it? I hope it's not right but i wanted you to know this!
Here is the link for those who understand german:

I discussed with a friend today (He has a mobile shop at Lausanne). He said that they received a confirmation from Dangaard (Swiss and European HTC importer) concerning an official HTC GPS ROM update in March.
The update should be available in March at: http://www.sp-business.com/ web site.
I tried with my IMEI... but it didn’t accept it
