Are you sure that's what you've seen? Because I think it's been noted on this board that plain SD cards WILL work; SDHC cards will NOT work. Not sure what the difference is, other than working or not working on a Universal ("HC" for "high capacity"?). Maybe yours is an SDHC card? Cheers,

check out this page for some good info on SD cards w/ Windows Mobile:
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2007/01/12/everything-you-want-to-know-about-sd.aspx
Short Answer: SD version 1.1 is only up to 2GB. Version 2.0 is more but Windows Mobile doesn't support Version 2.0. (unless the OEM added their own support.)
I think SDHC is a trademarked name for SD ver 2.0.
At this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card
"Some manufacturers have produced 4GB SD cards that do not conform to the SD2.0/SDHC and are incompatible with existing SD devices, and are also incompatible with SDHC devices"

In the computer and also on the card package. On both places it says SD 1.1

afaik, SDHC was just a term made up so consumers don't get confused, the only 'difference' between sd and sdhc is that sd is formatted fat16, sdhc is fat32.
Windows mobile can read fat32 so they should work :)

You are totally wrong. There is a big difference between the both standarts. If it was like you say I should be able to plug in a SDHC into my HTC and it should work .. but it aint. Theese are two different standarts with totally different arch. so a SDHC card won't work into a non-SDHC compatible hardware. It is the hardware that does the trick not the file system.
