I declare here (as if anybody cares :D - but I just want to have it written) that if Trinity is proven to have FM radio ALSO, I will buy it the same day I find out about it.

Not because "FM radio" is anything THAT special, but because it will be one-more-thing-too-much on a device for me to wait for something else. (where "something else" is only Flame *).

(* which if it is proven to have GPS - it won't but anyway - will make me sell any other PDA/phone I have for it)

(I just hope I will be able to ask the proper people at CeBit)

Now back to the topic, WHO will dump the Australian (WWE) ROM and/or final DOPOD 810 ROM already? Is it that hard? Is it possible that only 2-3 people that have access to the fora have these new ROMs? If find it hard to believe.

can anyone confirm whether we now have FM radio?

i think NOT.

Only features is

The D810, like the P800W, is capable of taking photos with embedded GPS coordinates.

including Wi-Fi 802.11g, Quadband GSM, Triband WCDMA and HSDPA. Its 360-degree scroll wheel design makes it easy to handle and operate. It also has a 2.0 mega-pixel dual digital camera and a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, enabling users to take and display super high quality photos and videos. In addition, busy professionals using the D810 can gain fast and easy access to news with the RSS News Reader, and manage their time and contacts better with Outlook Mobile.

Using the latest in-built online sharing capability, the D810 can transform itself into a plug-and-play USB Modem, providing 3.5G HSDPA wireless high speed Internet access for your computer. Users get to thoroughly enjoy online music and mobile TV, making long hours of work fun and enjoyable. This device is the perfect companion for your contemporary lifestyle as it supports Bluetooth A2DP stereo sound and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) Bluetooth remote which allows you to control your media player through a compatible Bluetooth headset. It can also work with media players and support many types of music files, turning it into your very own MP3 player.

Another boost to the D810 is its inclusion of the BlackBerry® Connect™ service, in addition to the Microsoft’s Direct Push solution.

From the Dopod site:

you can installl only the same or newer bootloader. if this rom has boot 1.08 and your language ROM has boot 1.07 you can't install ROm. But i think that the localized ROM have all the same bootloader.

OK, thanks wishmaster82. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. So then it would be a risk to install this rom, because if this rom has a 1.07 bootloader and if the official HTC rom has a 1.06 or 1.05 bootloader, then I would not be able to install the official rom after installing this rom. I am understanding that correctly?

This file is the rom image only.
You can use the RomUpgradeUtility from the old rom.

Or using the sd method. (Copy the file to sd card then enter the bootloader mode)

The way I flashed:
1. I started the old test version ROM with the EXE installer
2. When the flasher program started, I went to my TEMP folder in Windows and found those files in a seperate directory

EnterBootloader.exe
rapitool.exe
README.doc
ROMUpdateUtility.exe
RUU_signed.nbh
RUUGetInfo.exe
RUUResource.dll

3. Copy them to a new location without the file RUU_signed.nbh (Now close the active "old ROM flasher program")
4. Unrar the new ROM NBH file to thet location and rename it to RUU_signed.nbh
5. Start ROMUpdateUtility.exe and flash

Any success with the GPS ? Even with TomTom I can't get a fix :-/

-----------------
A quick hint:
GPS icon in Settings

In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings

1. Delete the DWORD marked Hide (if present)
2. Delete the DWORD marked Redirect (if present)
3. Add a DWORD called Group and give it a value of 2
4. Soft reset the device.

The GPS icon should then be available and you can change the com port on which it appears. (COM9 default)

Hoping this rom will correct the time zone and sd card problems.

There were never Time Zone problems, you just need to set your Regional Setting, then to change your Home and Visiting time zone to your own. In fact now it was not set to -8, it was ... something different :) I forgot...

I had an HTC Herald (P4350) before Trinity and the nasty SD card problem existed with the shipped ROM, so I believe and hope it is software problem and will be corrected, unfortunately at this moment I don't have miniSD card and I can not confirm anything.

perhaps you only get 1time gps-fix, after that you have to softreset.... for the next time that'll be ok for me if that works.....

Can anyone confirm if this rom has a newer OS build and if it fixes the issue opening the bluetooth audio gateway on mono headsets, specifically with Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 or do you still need to use the work around hack?

crazy, i got a gps fix in about 10seks within my house with 5 sats!!!
and my transcend cars is found too ( 4gb mini-sdhc )
.....

How is your 4GB card formatted? I reinstalled this ROM, but my card is still nowhere to be seen. It recognized my 2GB card just fine.

On the previous GPS enabled version, my 4GB card was next to useless, because every time the Trinity went to sleep, it lost the card, and all the apps on it. It just sucks:-(

Looks like you may have a faulty card. I have a 4gb card and I am using the previous Dopod test rom and it works great. (I occasionally lose a file, but soft reset always fixes it and file returns). On the whole, pretty stable. Oh, and my card is formatted fat 32.

Here is my card: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320075337995

I really don't think it's the card. It seems like you have similar problems (files disappearing.) Yeah, soft reset fixes it for me, but that's not really a good solution:-(

For example, I have TomTom (about 1.5 GB) and Lexipedia (just under 1GB), installed on the card with shortcuts to my Today Screen, and half the time I click on one of them, it gives me an error, because it can't access it. Then I have to do a soft reset to get it to work, until the next time the Trinity goes to sleep....

It makes it unusable, really, IMO. And with this ROM, the card simply doesn't show up.

But it shows just fine in my camera, and it works smoothly there. It is the damned Trinity ROM.... O.K., O.K., I know it's a test ROM:-)

man you have all those posts... don't tell me you haven't already read what others have said on the issue

from what *I* have read, superCID allows you to flash any ROM without the limitation of CID match, but bootloader "downgrade" is a different limitation, that is not related to CID... so from what I get you STILL CANNOT downgrade the bootloader (the bootloader itself doesn't allow for this)

BUT you can still change (even downgrade) the specific ROM files you need (i.e. not a full flash)

pretty clear to me and I hope I am correct

I installed the first DOPOD WWE test rom with GPS enabled, but I have hesitated with this new one because I'm a bit confused here,
so I hope someone can enlighten me.

Apparently the new one here, RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.23.707.4_6275_1.33.00. 11_108_Test.exe, is still a test rom,
but I had got the impression, also from this thread, that on the 10'th there would be an official release from DOPOD of a GPS enabled rom that would be a WWE.

Did I misunderstand this, or are we just waiting for someone to get hold of this new official one and upload it to the ftp site?

I have the latest version of TomTom navigator (6.100) and it runs perfect on this rom. I got excellent GPS connection, but I need to wait 5 mins for that. (It takes 1-2 min to coordinate the trinity (1 sattelite, 1 stripe), 4 mins after that I got full conection (4-5 stripes)..)
In fact, everythings runs perfect (including the 2 gb kingston minisd card, that didn't work very well) on this rom and everything goes a lot faster. I'm very happy :-)
I supercid'd it and installed this dopod test rom on my Dutch P3600 yesterday.

Thanks, I've upgraded and now confirm have the 'H' icon. However, the H icon comes up only when I do a data connection at HSDPA area. Otherwise it's 3G icon if there is no data connection even if I am in a HSDPA area.

Can anyone confirm this is correct? I was hoping that it shows H icon if I am in a HSDPA area even if I do not connect to data E.g. same like E or G icon. It shows up E icon if I am in EDGE area although I do no connect to EDGE data connection.

Is there anyway to set the registry to show the H icon the same way as E icon without the need for data connection? It would be cool to take one look and see that I am in an area with HSDPA.

Thanks.

I've flashed the test rom yesterday. Before I made a full backup with spb backup. GPS works very well together with TomTom 6. I had 3 to 4 satelites inside.
Then I wanted to playback the backup. If I do the full restore, where also the system files are istalled again, I get only a blank screen and the Trinity hangs. Only hard reset is possible.
Anybody nows a solution?

Simply backup and restore won't work on ROM update, because during the ROM update, some of the system file will be also updated which can not be backup and restore by the application program. So I suggest you to run a ROM update one more time. :D

Thank you mrsmart,
just thought, when restore the backup, all the path to my programs and would be available again. But it looks that system files and registry entries are not compatible anymore with the new rom. I can restore the PIM data but have to install all the programs again.

I can't find this ROM in the FTP. Did you upload it? I don't want to waste anymore time installing apps on the test ROM if there is an official release ROM available:rolleyes: . Thanks.

Hi, can anyone here comment on the MP3-quality issue reported before with the first test-ROM ? Has the problem been corrected in this ROM ? I wouldn't want to sacrifice my music-playback for GPS if i'd upgrade...

I flashed the new ROM and it does have the mp3 problem (no bass).

However I can use m4a files with no problem (convert with itunes).

I'm in the Valais at the moment, snow snow snow :)
Thanks for the link. I managed to get it loaded so now I can spend the next few days installing everything all over again, but it's worth it!

I flashed my HTC p3600 today with this new ROM, replacing the previous test ROM. So far so good and I have "GPS photo" available :-)

Also, I have applied the registry hack to view in the Control Panel the GPS settings and saw that the speed on COM9 is 115200 baud: so I fired up TomTom 6 and changed the baud rate to 115200 (before it was the default value, 4800) hoping to see any improvements, but to me TomTom is more or less the same.

Still waiting for an official HTC ROM....

Ok sorry for this question but I want to be sure before I do anything.
I'm running an SPV M700 - I've unlocked it and Super CID it.
Last time I flashed a PPC (XDA II) with a non official (in that case non O2) firmware it wouldn't get my text messages or voice mail anymore.
IF I update using the Dopod 1.23, 1.35 version will I get the same problem?
IF so is there any way to resolve it?
