no SMS received notification! help

when I receive a sms I don't receive anybody notification. There'isnt sound or vibrate, not even the preview on the display. can someone help me? ? ?

...I had a similar problem with my phone not making sounds o incoming calls or msgs. Try sliding down the volume slider thingy (or touch the speaker on the display), and two bars appear, and slide up the right bar. this should sort yor problem. If that doesn't work, goto Start>Settings>Sounds and Notifications, and check that the first 3 boxes are ticked. If that doesn't work, from the same window click on 'Notifications', and click on the drop down bar and go down to 'Messaging: New text message', then tick the play sound box. Hope i was helpful.

Go to Sounds and Notifications, select SMS or Text Messaging and see what you have selected there
