I'm trying to change the SMS sent message .wav found in the Windows directory, presuming I need to replace it with another file called msgbox.wav so it still looks in the right place as I can't find an option to change this in Sounds and Notifications. However, it won't let me as it's a system/read-only directory. Cannot change the attributes from my laptop via Activesync. How do I do this? The current .wav is getting really irritating!

copy the .wav file that you'd like to use into the windows directory. then, go into Settings, Sounds and notifications, go to the notifications tab, select event Text: new text message.

Select the file from the play sound drop down box. OR if you don't want anything to play, take the check mark off.

I've done that, but what I want to do is replace the 'Message Sent' .wav, which is that irritating noise rather than any nice music file. I've found the file in Windows, it's called msgbox.wav, but because the directory is read only I cannot delete it and replace it with one I want to use. Help!

turn off the notifications on the first tab in sounds and notifications and then try deleting.
