View Full Version : US Users: Is there a point in getting TyTN? Or just 8525?

I've been using a Treo 700wx with sprint, but I just got a CSM job with T-Mobile and I want to take the opportunity to get a Hermes. I know T-Mobile hasn't deployed 3G yet...but hopefully by the end of this year there should be considerable coverage.

Unlocked 8525s seem to be much less (~$200 less) expensive than HTC TyTNs. We don't really need the front cam since there's no Video calling in the US anyway. Any other reason to go for TyTN?

I could change roms if needed, correct? Hell, I could unlock a locked 8525 with this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665), right?

the tytn has the front camera that is the only advantage.. I was going to get the tytn then realized how much cheaper the 8525 was and the only diff was the camera on the front so i got the 8525 and i love it!

I previously had a qtek 9100 and a Cingular 8125. When the qtek broke, the warranty repair took approx. 6 weeks (!) to get back to me. When the 8125 had issues, Cingular sent me a replacement overnight.
