it's been 4 days i'm running UE version,i'd tweaked my device a bit aftr ROM upgrade and here's i experienced so far:
1_ faster somewhat, stable alot, no self reset, NO auto power off like some peoples having difficulty ( i had this problem with PDViet3 ver). BT stack is stable(not efficient though). battery consumption is superb(wonder y> it's days, not hours)
2_ i'm running sbp products, and some etc etc things, so far so good, browsing is okay(use opera, no PIE).
3_ my biggest complaint: mem leak>>every day i have to soft reset it, starts at arund 25 and by end of day it's 15mb, if anybody knows ne fix then share plze>
4_ overall its okay, cant give rating yet, i saw another rom issued in past few days(beautiful version), but i'm gona give this UE few more days b4 i try that.
Thanks, wth all help this forum provides " even a caveman can do it" ~lol~

I saw on the wiki page that the 6. edition is out. Has someone this ROM?
NO
Don`t worry - Will be here in a weak.
Do you want MMS like CAB in install folder, or directly in OS ? If anybody have the files, what is nessesery to integrate into a OS, please send it to me - I have NOT much time to work on it now. The CAB has setup.dll, which is hard to analize.

anyone noticed text message recipient autocompletion doesn't work?
do it not only for me?
anyone knows how to restore?
The problem seem to be solved by istalling aekmap with a custom german accented layout (made by me editing german wizard default layout).
But the use of aekmap makes text inserts a bit slow and makes a little different to make accented chars.
Anyway now seems all working fine!

Been running this ROM for about a week now and it's been stable except for one thing...
Whenever I charge it over night, the next morning there is artifacts/graphic glitches on the screen and I can't do anything. It's not completely frozen because I can push the start button and the phone still responds when I press buttons but the screen is trashed. Only way to turn off the phone is by taking the battery out.
Any ideas? It's very annoying because I can't receive any phone calls when the phone is like that.

im using farias Aku 3.3 v2 8mb rom and i want to upgrade to underground edition crossbow rom...should i upgrade directly from farias aku 3.3 to underground edition or i need to downgrade first to the Button 1.05 before upgrading to underground edition.
another question, what if i want to go back to farias aku 3.3 or to molski 3.3 if i already installed underground edition crossbow rom? what the procedure should i do?

You don't (or shouldn't) have to go back to the button 1.05 rom once you succesfully CID unlock and you keep your IPL/SPL at 2.x level. While you can probably go straight from AKU 3.3 to UE or MBE, I think its safer to reload the TMobile 2.26 Ship ROM on to re-establish a nice base to lay the new ROM on top of. I went from AKU 3.3 to MBE and had all sorts of weird issues. I redid it by first reflashing the TMobile Ship ROM then MBE and the weird probs I had all seemed to go away.
To go back, do the same thing. Reflash the official ship rom (like the TMobile 2.26) and then flash AKU 3.3 or whatever.

I'm getting this too ! You are the first one I have seen reporting this issue. It happened to me once when I had an incoming call as well. I was able to answer the call and speak but the CLI was garbled along with several of the icons across the top.
Are you running Batti ? I am not using Today Agenda or Battery Status, not am I OC'd right now.
I had wondered if it was a problem with something stomping on the screen memory map.

Yeah I'm running Batti (the blue bar battery indication across the top). It's currently at the "stock" overclock (228mhz I think), but I use to run it at 240+ no problems on other ROMs. But yeah, that's exactly what's happening to me -- the top icons are garbled. It happens every time when I leave the phone on the charger for several hours. Once it's garbled, I can't receive any calls though.
I'll try removing Batti. That's the only thing I'm running though.
EDIT: Do you know of any good battery status programs that run in the tray (at the bottom, not the top)? I need some sort of battery indication on the today screen. ;)

you can copy the initray.exe to your startup folder and you will have the commanager and battery icons back to the task bar.

by shelltool of course..
Freezing problem should decide remove batti or flash 2.19.11 Radio ROM. Both will be "fixed" in 6.th edition.

This doesn't seem to work on UE for me. I have CommManager but no battery icons. Your sig states you are using MBE so perhaps it works differently there.

ONE BIG annoyance. The date and time on the Today screen are on two separate lines for this rom. Does anyone have the cab file to for the one line date and time?
mfrazzz
7th March 2007, 05:33 AM
I posted a cab for you (your same post in another thread). LVM Time is what I use. MBE comes with one called Single Line Date (or something like that) but not sure where that came from. I like LVM Time for some of its other options.

Uninstalling Batti seems to have fixed this problem I was having.

Can someone please state what the exact AKU version is being reported for this ROM version? The AKU version can be found in the registry under the key:
HKLM\System\Versions and has the name AKU.
That way I can adjust the RegistryWizard program to take specific settings into account, like the date/time issue of the taskbar.
Thanks

" AKU 4.2.0 beta"
It has a space before AKU, exact spelling above.

hi all,
I installed 5._Underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM.exe
on qtek 9100 for tmobile.
Before installing this rom I installed custom_ruu_wizard_1050412....... bin and unlocked CID and phone. Now after successfully installed 5._Underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM.exe, I cannot make a call and I cannot sync with active sync v4.5. What should I do? How do I make activesync work sothat I can try another ROM? Whenever I try to goto phone or activesync setup it gives me error "a problem has occured with device.exe".
Please help me out.....

Based on the IPL and SPL after the update it is probably because you didn't upgrade to a stable 2.26 ROM before installing crossbow, I've read several places that you need a good solid 2.26 to properly upgrade to crossbow

Just run the Tmobile 2.26 Ship rom and you will be back to IPL/SPL 2.26. Then reflash your WM6 ROM of your choice. This will blow away everything on your device, but its your only choice.
If you get errors about can't running the TMobile ROM, you will probably have to do the down grade to the Button ROM and CID unlock again, then do the TMobile ROm and then WM6.

First, THANK YOU! This is a slick and brilliant release. I have UK O2 Mini S and installed UE straight ontop of my latest O2 ROM, SPL/IPL 2.24 I think. Radio ROM slightly older at .21. I have applied most of the fixes talked about in the wiki and this thread.
Everything works. That includes, bluetooth, Wifi (WSA-PSK), BT, SMS, GPRS, Camera, bt GPS and tomtom6, bt headset. Windows Live (hotmail, Messenger). I ran the O2 customisation CAB files from the extended rom and it added MMS settings, which is cool.
Show stopping problems:
1. When key-ing symbols using keyboard, they are messed up. In fact, they shift 1 key from the left. For example, my A key has symbol ! and S key is for symbol @. When I do the usual shift, S, it prints '!'. So all symbols shift to the right!?
2. Voice Dialing, with official O2 rom, default button assignment, single press of button 4 brings up voice command and I could use voice tags in my contact and call without a single button. Now voice command doesn't work at all. This also affects bt headset. Before I could press button on my Jabra and brings it connects and brings up voice command. I use voice dialing when I'm on the road...
3. Seems to be a WM6 behaviour, after connected my Jabra, it keeps the connection live even after phone calls. Drains a lot of battery on both devices.
minor stuff:
a. Once GPRS is connected, click on the big 'G' icon has no 'disconnect' option like before. In fact, I don't know how to disconnect GPRS anymore!
b. When usb cable connected, AS'ed, no internet pass through the host PC anymore. Phone pops with dialogue box saying 'The page you are looking for cannot be found due to unknown error 0x80072f78'. This used to work.
c. When connected to wifi already, PIE browsing already, launch Windows Live and it tries to connect through my GPRS. I can disconnect it immediately and it will fall back to the already connected Wifi (a bit stupid really).
d. It comes with Batti, but if I get it to display the icon on the bar, it keeps bugging me with a new notification as if I tapped on it. I bought Resco pack so I just uninstall Batti.
e. In WM5, when I open messaging, the left soft key was 'New' rather than 'Delete'. Not very good design, this one.
Sorry if I've been a newbie for pointing out things which there might be solutions already, but I did read through the entire thread and couldn't find anything for my show stoppers. Anyway, this is very promising and certainly a very good ROM. The default overclocking gives it a faster feel, but when using tomtom or other apps, there is not a lot between this and my O2 AKU2 rom. It is also annoying with the softkey menu delay. I think I might apply the disable annimation registry hack to stop it altogether.
many thanks guys.

a. You can disconnect GPRS by holding the hang up button for several seconds.
b. Run regedit in your HOST computer and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services, Add a DWORD setting "AllowLSP" with value set to 0

Down to the keyboard map. default is US.
You can set UK in the Registry Wizard program.

atdavie, starkwong, thank you for your helpful tips!
I've done the Keyboard registry directly and UK mapping corrected the problem. Hold End button to disconnect GPRS works well too!
I have also fixed the voice dialing problem. I have created a shortcut for /windows/sddialer.exe under Programs. Then reassigned Button 4, Single press to that shortcut. Yet to try it with my headset but the button behaves the same as before. Note when assigning buttons, there are entreis of
'Voice Command', 'Voice dialer' and 'voicecommand'. The two voice command brings up voice command. Voice Dialer invokes installation of the voice speed dial CAB file! Very minor problem now that I fixed it with a new shortcut.
This ROM is looking like a stay-er for me! Thanks!
