It is a PPCtuning.org ROM. It seems it is pretty fast with total commander, OMAP clock, Screen Off, keyboard fix, Simple plain fast ROM.

Radio is included (2.47) and now I have to upgrade to 2.61 again.
First impressions - rom very good.
Missing some apps to be perfect (battery status, wm5 new menudryar-bluetooth, oxios memory).
It's based on orwell rom so there's no start menu sound fix included, voice command fix too.

This ROM is VERY good. I had been using Faria's latest on my phones but this is slightly better. Voice Command is in rom but needed the BT fix from another thread to amke the headset work right. A few tiny tweaks but 99% of my software is in and working great! It is fast and there is tons of memory.

The only thing I have not been able to overcome is lack of midi support. All my old .mid ringtones will not work at all. WM player will not play them anymore. From reading on the web I guess it's actually been up to device oems to include midi support even with WM5 but this rom does not have it. Perhaps a later one will. For now it's not big deal and I am moving on with this rom. Good Stuff!

GERMAN KEY MAPPING

1. HKCU >> ControlPanel >> Keybd
create string named Locale and put 4-digit code of your keyboard (my german wizard with WM6.0 WWE ROM uses 0407)

2. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> 1 >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code (in my case, I changed e0010409 to e0010407)

3. HKCU >> keyboard layout >> Preload >> Default
change value of last 4 digits to your code (in my case, I changed e0010409 to e0010407)

4. exit registry editor and continue to operate your device for few minutes. After that, softreset. Caution: sometimes your wizard "forgets" to write modifications to your registry, so repeat this procedure 'till it works.

After 2 hours of tryings, and several restarts, ... found the rom almost OK but:
- Difficulties with bluetooth synchronization
- Blockings with Total commander
- Some icons are not pure juice...

I prefer to come back to already "oldy but goody" pure juice orwells1984.

I switched to this ROOM for exactly half a day ( testing around / 2 hard resets involved. ) My conclusions:

-The GPRS/EDGE symbol kept switching around after each reboot.
-I had missed calls and SMS using the 2.61.11 radio rom.
-Changing some things in the registry had no effect at all ( and yes I did them right - like do not delete cabs for instance )

These troubles alone let me switch back to pdaviet3.

Imho this ROM has a lot of hidden bugs so I would not advise using it.

I was using Pdaviet v4... it booted up with all of Tmobiles settings. This Underground version does not. Is there a place/link that has all the settings so I can connect wirelessly... or am I missing something?

I would suggest we stop telling people how to find these ROMs. We have already lost the FTP. With us constantly giving out how to get these ROMs from these other sites, we will loose those resources as well. Info about finding these places is posted in many threads already. Okay, I just updated to this and I really like it, but I am having some problems.

First, activesync isnt working? Anyone else experiance this? It connects fine, but once it trys to synchronize, it just doesnt so anything.

Second, how can I transfer my contacts and files to this "New Device"? I planned on just updating the device to use the same device name that I previously had, so that it would transfer all of my contacts back to it, but it wont let me.

I didnt backup my contacts any other way, just via activesync. Am I shit outa luck now?

Last, not a problem perse, but how does the internet calling feature work?

That's to say : no problem at all, 24-26 mb ram with all stuff loaded, no need to OC except for smoothness in tomtom (but no need in route66 or iGO). Yeah, I confirm that there is that annoyance of the dpad not working well with the smart dialer in scrolling down. It does the default shorts for call list,contacts,email. Anyone know a fix for that? Other than that, its a great rom

You'll have to edit the smartskey.ini file inside the \Windows directory. I believe it's the DPAD setting you need to change - from 1 to 0.

The only important numbers you have to look at are "5.2.660 (build 15341"
The AKU version can be changed in the registry, so AKU4.2.0 means nothing. BTW, AKUs are like Service Packs in desktop windows; wm6 has just been announced: it is impossible that a AKU has already been released! AKUs will come in the future, just like Vista SP1 will come at the end of this year!

Mines is working pretty good except cant get the voice dialer working. When I was running the Tmobile Rom 2.26 with Tmobile 2.25.11 radio rom, i was receiving all calls and internet was working great. Does anyone have a link to the tmobile 2.25.11 radio rom? I can't seem to find just the Tmobile radio rom 2.25.11.

Hi All!

Yesterday I tried to upgrade my WIZARD to this ROM. I had an interesting problem with it (interesting for me...). Everything was OK during the upgrade, the last screen on the PC was the "Congratulation..." window. My device restarted, new splash screen shown (Windows Mobile 6, Underground Edition on the lower right corner). but the second splash screen was the original WM5 screen, and after this, nothing has changed in the operating system. It was the good old WM5! I don't know exactly which version (i didn't checked it), but it was WM5. Do You understand this? (...at 14% and 96% the process stopped for a few seconds, and the indicator turned to red. Does it mean something wrong, or it's normal?)

You're naming two roms that can be flashed to a CID-locked device (Molski's 2.26 2nd edition). You're still CID-locked.

Just began to use this Rom and it is great. My only gripe is that when making a call my pad afterward becomes useless. Meaning I can't end a call by hitting "end" or use the number pads to dial and extension. Any fix to this?

One other question. Is there a way to try and use the same dailer skin that the SupeROM used?

The settings:
spl/ipl 2.25
radio 2.61
os crossbow underground
hardware imate kjam with sandisk 2gb card.
added software: opera 8.6, pocket mechanic, also installed java, and video software

I have used this for a few days and it is fast and stable. (has the same stability as faria aku 3.3). The combination above is best for me. I tried spl/ipl 2.26 and the system hangs. Also hangs with xcpuscalar when overclocked past 208mhz.

I am happy with this OS and think it is a keeper until the next update. My only dislike is the phone skin. Prefer the older one or something more user friendly.

I just tried it and there is softkey lag just like orwells. i have put up with it since the release and am sick of it and decided to go back to wm5 after using the smartphone I bought for my sister (it INSTANTLY brings up the menu)

Your device is CID locked. Unlock it and the OS portion can be flashed.

ThanksI have that problem using the 2.61 GSM. If I flash the 2.19 it works. I flash the 2.61 it instantly stops responding to the buttons when I'm erasing voice mail messages, typing PBX extensions, etc. I flash back to 2.19 and it works. I did this 3 times in one day, back and forth, just flashing the radio. I can create this problem instantly everytime I go to the 2.61 and fix it everytime by going to the 2.19.

1- screen suddenly turn on from time to time...
2- i dont't like MSN contacts on the traditional contact list....

Ok i had the same error with word mobile, the fault is that the templates are missing *.pwi and *.doc from \My Documents\Templates. Replace those, go into word (error shown), click menu -> options and select a template, select ok and now it will work!

G4 CID-Locked users WILL need to copy these as they are installed from Extension_ROM in this software!!!

I think I have the same problem with my internet connection, like easymob above, but not with windows live. I have SPB Weather and SPB Insight installed on the device. These applications cannot connect to refresh when USB is plugged, AS connected (the sync with Outlook is working) They can work only with GPRS connection. Is this the bug of the Underground WM6, or AS4.5, or my desktop computer is sick?

I believe it is just a setting not ticked. In Active Sync click file, connection settings , then tick the box that says "Allow wireless connection..." That should do the trick.

I actually had to to go into total commander and make them not hidden and then copy them from my storage card to the my documents\template folder, I saved all the templates from my other WM5 device. The templates were not there before to select the template inside word. Weird!




Ok i had the same error with word mobile, the fault is that the templates are missing *.pwi and *.doc from \My Documents\Templates. Replace those, go into word (error shown), click menu -> options and select a template, select ok and now it will work!

G4 CID-Locked users WILL need to copy these as they are installed from Extension_ROM in this software!!!

I agree. This green comm manager is tha bomb! I extracted it for my custom ROM and am quite happy with it. ActiveSync is "active" from within Comm Manager and the BT is quick enabling and disabling. (And the file sizes are smaller...)

Has anyone found the Missing "Modem Link" rom anywhere? I use my MDA with my laptop via USB (and sometimes bluetooth) to get on the EDGE network while on the road. It's really the only thing I am missing with this new rom. I didnt even put any of my 3rd party programs back on because this rom came loaded with better stuff anyway, lol.

Also, when pairing my MDA with my Laptop via Bluetooth, no services are listed. I used to get "Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link" as an available service, but that's gone too. Is that because the above program is missing as well?

One other thing, if anyone here is part of the team making these roms, could I recomend incorporating "In Close Mobile" into them? I cant beleive another verison of Windows Mobile, and they still didnt make the Close Button actualluy Close things, lol.

Upgraded my 8125 to the underground ROM and it works just great. Downloaded the MMS composer, just have to tweak the settings for Cingular MMS and I'll have a great phone. :)

I've not experienced the turn-on effect though. And battery life has been exceptional; from 100% dropped to 92% in 8 hours with 50% signal, Bluetooth and IR on.

This firmware rocks!

As far, for me at least, I got the best results with orwells well configured ("standard" tweaks that I apply on each rom i flash using tweaks2K2 and registrywizard - mms composer working great, programs I usually use...) Then I get 24-26 mb ram free after several days of use.
It's true that common stuff we all use (total comm or resco explorer / wm5torage, TCPMP...and so on) is not included, but it's about 10 min to install them all and it doesn't take much space in storage memory.
By the way, all other stuff that is included in no version (gps navigation...) will take much much longer to install and test.

This is Y I don't think I'm gonna flash again to have a "chance" that underground version runs less nice than orwells does. Too risky is my guess ;)

In fact I tried pdaviet3 & 4 PV3 was great and PV4 I got several of known problems so I downgraded to orwells to set it up by myself and see how it could run. And it runs well for now. If i get in troubles, i'll reconsider installing underground. Thanx anyway for your advice bro ;)

I installed the version that comes with the underground and the version that worked with pdaviet3 and have done what people recommened (reg wizard, uninstalling the mms and the connections, etc...) and i keep getting the error synchronizing! Anyone else have that problem?

T9 completion seems to work fine on mine and i'm running the underground edition :s, have you tried reflashing?

No Flashed it twice so far, in the phone it seems to complete ok but in text messaging its just not there.

Note: Never mind I fixed it, it was the code page settings, i changed some but not all to 0809, change them all and it works.

Is anyone else having this issue with this ROM? I tried both the PDAViet ROM and this one and am seeing the same behavior as I saw with the first AKU 2.0 ROMs that came out. That is, when the device goes into standby mode, it does not vibrate when an email comes in. This was fixed with the later batches of the AKU 2.3 ROMs and the 3.0 ROMs but regretably seems to be an issue once again. Is anyone else noticing this? I tried a search of the WM 6.0 threads and came up empty.

My fix is to use PhoneAlarm, but this is not ideal as it seems to create some stability issues and I would rather go "naked" as far as notifications are concerned. Help please?

Well, so far three. The one I mentioned before about the memory and now, after using my Qtek 9100 for a while the left’s soft bottom button (hee?) stop working. Have to soft reset to make it work. Also there is no way to initiate an edge connection with my ISP without a soft reset.

Unfortunatelly, I´ve seen this behaviour a couple of times earlier using an official ROM released. I don´t know why it happens, but I solved mine first doing a backup and then a hard reset. Everythings backs to normal after that! Restore data later!

Hello, i have a G4-locked mda-vario(wizard). I flashed Orwells1984-rom.
Rom-version= 10.1.0.811WWE. Radio version= 02.19.11.

The rom's works great, no problems at all. But the battery is now empty within 8hours. Does anybody knows a solution. Tried several things.

I would imagine you've got the phone to ask for password after 0 minutes, go into settings and lock and check there

To those of you that map their Gmail account into Pocket Outlook...have you noticed how you can no longer set it to "get message headers only" and max out the limit to "999"? Now you can select download the "entire message" which is great...but...now each time you send/receive...it will change your pop Gmail settings to enable all mail after the last time it syncs.

This means that every time after that...it will delete all of your mail out of your inbox but the emails that have come in after your last sync.

Does anyone know a solution or work around?

But if you add the line "recent" infront of your username, that will allow you to download your mail and not have it disappears. So in pocket outlook, where it wants you to put your username, put;

where username is your gmail email

I am using this ROM. I would say it is a sleek ROM and pretty fast and stable. Compare to those previous WM6 ROM I 've tried. The only obstacle I encounter during change of battery. Whenever I swap my battery, the clock will be reset and become inaccurate. I still haven't found a solution yet.

I am using this ROM. I would say it is a sleek ROM and pretty fast and stable. Compare to those previous WM6 ROM I 've tried. The only obstacle I encounter during change of battery. Whenever I swap my battery, the clock will be reset and become inaccurate. I still haven't found a solution yet.

This is known problem with hardware, not software (capacitors or backup baterry are less or broken around 5-7 months after brand-new).

Rom works fine here. Just one thing I dont understand. I switched off cleartype. it works except when in pocket internet explorer or sms/ text. I read mail is now html based so I figure all html apps are using cleartype somehow even though I turned it off. Anyone have a clue how to turn it of "completely". I don't like the fuzzy look of it.

The memory cab has the keyboard fix included, that is why I posted it. For those who want to quickly fix their keyboard and not dig through the registry deleting keys.



There's no need to use the memory fix cab on the underground rom. The rom-cook tweaked it the right way.

I usually keep all CABS I need on my SD for future use. You should do the same! :)
As we have been burning a lot these times, keep cabs on Sd is the best thing to do to reinstall any application you need. :cool:
Try sofreset and then copy the cab to your SD. It should work.

Ive tried PDAVIET3 and UNDERGROUND....both of them hang while trying to go through the start menu or just using programs...even Windows Media Player use is impossible....hell, i dont even get any service

By the way, im using a G3 Wizard.

I'm not 100% sure on this Underground Edition. I've installed it about 24 hours now. Spent a lot of time installing programs and tweaking it. And I'm still on the fence.

1) It is quicker. At 195mhz it seems on fairly close to my Molski 2.2 at 240mhz. I want to see how it performs once I do overclock it (once I can find my download of BatteryStatusExt).

2) It hangs less than my last setup. This might be because I installed and uninstalled so much crap programs testing things out. Registry on old setup was probably a mess.

3) So far everything seems to work. I haven't tested MMS. Or done a lot of testing of missed calls. So this item is tentative based on more research.

CONS
1) The radio signal is worse than before. Sometimes just sitting there it will drop all the way out. And its never stuck on full 100% signal like it used to be. I'm using the same 2.26 Radio before and after. So I don't understand it. I'm thinking about trying the 2.61 Radio to see if that helps. I will try that tonight. This sucks...damn radio. I'm looking at it now and it jumps around from 1 to 3 bars randomly without any reason.

2) Battery drain is excessive. I'm getting 1/2 to 1/3 of the battery life I had with Molski 2.2 ROM. I already installed the battery patch given above in this thread. The idle/uptime ratio seems reasonable, so the device is sleeping when it should be. Showing fully charged 22hr ago, uptime 8hr, uptime left 3hr at 34% remaining. I just did the fake Exchange server trick a couple minutes ago to see if that helps.

I am not experiencing any of the battery issues you say you have. You may want to use the Tmobile UK 2.19.11 Radio. This is the only radio I have ever used that doesnt have the battery problem. This would fix your other signal problem too. I am in the US on Cingular with the 2.19.11 Tmobile Radio Rom and I have never dropped a call, never missed a call or voicemail, and I have signal everywhere I go.

Not sure if this helps any of you with the MMS problem, but before I upgraded to WM6 i was capable of sending MMS messages.
After the upgrade i kept getting a failure message, so decided to call my network provider and found out that they had to re-allow it on the network. I know this doesn't make any sense, but the same thing happened with a Universal that i upgraded, i had to call the network again to get them to allow MMS messages through.

I am using TMO and have had problems using MMS with many of the ROMs but have always got them to work.

For the Underground edition, I installed the Acrsoft cab which was on the site where I found the ROM. After installing the arcsoft cab, I installed a TMO internet settings cab. The result is that MMS works.

I should also note that I may have also installed the arcsoft cab which was in a folder in the Underground edition. Now I've got two MMS folders but one works.

I'm not 100% sure on this Underground Edition. I've installed it about 24 hours now. Spent a lot of time installing programs and tweaking it. And I'm still on the fence.

PROS
1) It is quicker. At 195mhz it seems on fairly close to my Molski 2.2 at 240mhz. I want to see how it performs once I do overclock it (once I can find my download of BatteryStatusExt).

2) It hangs less than my last setup. This might be because I installed and uninstalled so much crap programs testing things out. Registry on old setup was probably a mess.

3) So far everything seems to work. I haven't tested MMS. Or done a lot of testing of missed calls. So this item is tentative based on more research.

1) The radio signal is worse than before. Sometimes just sitting there it will drop all the way out. And its never stuck on full 100% signal like it used to be. I'm using the same 2.26 Radio before and after. So I don't understand it. I'm thinking about trying the 2.61 Radio to see if that helps. I will try that tonight. This sucks...damn radio. I'm looking at it now and it jumps around from 1 to 3 bars randomly without any reason.

2) Battery drain is excessive. I'm getting 1/2 to 1/3 of the battery life I had with Molski 2.2 ROM. I already installed the battery patch given above in this thread. I'd chuck the ROM if I were you! Your cons out weigh your pros (IMO).
I installed it and an hour later it was gone!!!
I don't use MMS often but I want it to work like everything else on my device. An upgrade is not an upgrade if EVERYTHING does not work.
I agree with you...the ROM is fast but its just as fast as the other WM6's floating around (I've gone thru them all).
I settled with PDAviet3 :D because everything works properly...In my neverending search to find the ultimate (as of right now) WM6 ROM, I've wasted countless family time breaking down my device...installing another ROM just to come back.
By the way...over a long period of time, radio 2.19.11 has proven to be the best radio for these ROMs.

You are right. I would have to say after my normal crossbow tweaks and going with the 2.19 radio I haven't had any problems at all. I have been using this since it got released and love it. The only gripe I have is that the soft key buttons seem slow but I will live with that for all the other great features of this rom.

-no missing calls.
-no hang-ups
-every program is working.
-pretty fast when clocked to 204

Only thing is battery-drain, but i'm working on that! (maybe with every rom)

I just installed this ROM on a CID-locked device , thanks to the guide published on this forum , and THIS VERSION IS KICK A** ! It's really fast ( cool camera does 10 fps at VCD quality without overclocking ) , pretty neat , seems stable and clean !

Rom works fine here. Just one thing I dont understand. I switched off cleartype. it works except when in pocket internet explorer or sms/ text. I read mail is now html based so I figure all html apps are using cleartype somehow even though I turned it off. Anyone have a clue how to turn it of "completely". I don't like the fuzzy look of it.

The battery life is horrible. Everytime I make a phone call (even 1 minute long) the remaining battery drops by 1-2 percents. I checked my battery last night after leaving a club and it was at 30%, pressed the power button and it went into suspend mode. Drove about 25 minutes and check it again as I get into my house and its at 20%.

This is about the same battery life I had it with the factory 1.x ROM and ActiveSync starting up and synching on its own. I did the Active Sync fake server fix and from that point until this ROM I've been blessed with fabulous battery life. Usually go through a whole day with 70-80% remaining.

New Update

Just right now I was looking at the an uptime reporting program. I reset the stats to Zero and then immediately pressed the power button. It should have gone into suspend mode immediately. I waited about 5 minutes and then turn it back on. Run the uptime reporting program again and it says 5 minutes running, 5 minutes uptime, 0 minutes idle.

With MS2.2 it would immediately go to sleep and then only the idle counter will be going up.

I'm definately going to try the 2.19.11 this weekend. Hopefully it will help. I had great success with Molski 2.2 and 2.47 Radio, so I assumed WM6 and 2.47 would work great too.

Any viewpoints from you guys on 2.61 Radio? I think I might try that out this weekend too just to see what happens. Thank goodness T-Mobile sent me an extra battery since I was complaining so much about the battery life =).

I'm not going to jump ship just yet. Still going to try the suggestions on the 2.19 Radio as well as experiment with 2.61. Also I'm going to keep searching the boards, seeing what others do and trying new things myself.


New Glitches Found

1) When I go into phone settings I cannot save and close it with the [X]. I have to force terminate it. I do have PPCPhoneThemes installed which may be causing the problem. But even if PPCPhoneThemes isn't running in background, it still won't let me save it.

2) When I change theme to a theme pre-installed in the ROM it won't allow me to change it using Pocket Theme Manager. I have to go into Today settings and change it to a self-installed theme then I can use Pocket Theme Manager to change it.

Sean...I experienced a few missed calls while knowing I had solid reception when using 2.61 and read about many others having the same issues with all versions of WM6 so I quickly changed to 2.19 and it's been great. Also, on the FTP site in the Uploads folder for the Wizard, there is the HTX X button .cab to finitely close each program when you "x" out...try that.

golfernut...other than setting up my connections and MMS configurations correctly...there was nothing else I set up for MMS to work. Who is your carrier...if you're still having problems send me a PM...perhaps I could help.

What's wrong with the camera?? I thought the ROM had an included camera app? I see the shortcut pointing to \Windows\Camera.exe. Its working just fine. The light even works. I'm also using CoolCamera 1.15 and that's working great too.

Some guys noticed that the SD Card runs always a full capacity, the tweak @ the above thread turns on power management for the SD Card. I've been using this tweak for 3 days now and over a 12hr period...my battery life has doubled! See what it does for you...it can't hurt.

My experience with radio 2.19 has been excellent. I've gone back and forth trying the newer radios and come back to 2.19 because for me...it's reliable. No keypad lock-ups, missed calls and messaging issues.

I've used 2.61 for a week and I would say it worked for me 80% of the time. The signal is stronger and faster to find coverage but I experienced the issues above. Check out the thread and see what others experienced:

If you look at the signatures of the experienced users using WM6, you'll notice they all are using 2.19 ... again when you're looking around ... see for yourself.

I use a combination of things that work...why settle for anything that doesn't do what it's supposed to do! From ROMs to radio to programs to tweaks ... if it doesn't work properly on my device, I move on to what does and what works for me may not work for you.

Hang in there ... it will all come together. :)

OK -- I took the plunge and have been running this Underground Crossbow for about 5 days now. The only thing I can say is WOW!!

It's fast and responsive. Haven't found anything yet that doesn't work (but I don't use MMS, so I can't comment on that point)

After installing it, I changed the radio ROM to 2.19.11, applied Molski's customizations cab, used Registry Wizard to make some registry tweaks and unlocked the Cingular extended ROM to apply a few cabs. Then, set up my email. Everything is running flawlessly.

I also installed the ArcSoft MMS cab and CoolCamera . . . my device is now PERFECT!!!

I'm in the process of adding back programs and apps now. So far -- so good.

I'm LOVIN' this!!! :)

EDIT: All programs and apps now installed and working without any issues at all. . .and a couple of them go back to when I was running PPC2002 on my Dell Axim!!! :D

The only thing missing is the additional free RAM that I had in Molski's 30MB ROM, but I can work around it for now . . .

For those whose battery, MMS or signal are below expectations, I'd say that from the time I installed this ROM, I just got a MMS problem which finally was solved by Arcsoft. :)

If you are still getting low signal or something related to a Radio ROM, get 2.19.11. Up to now now issues found at all! :)

For battery drains, get a CAB to save power while using your SD card as mentioned earlier and in another thread.

I tried that registry change as one of the first things I did after I flashed. I'm going to test it the other way. It might be dependent on what chipset is used on the SD card.

I believe the big problem right now is the PPC isn't going into idle/sleep mode. Once I figure out what's keeping it awake, then I have to see whether it has excessive drain once it does go to sleep (such as radio hunting too much) or the SD card running at full.

I read somewhere that BatteryStatus with More Indicators enabled doesn't allow it to go into sleep mode. That might be the culprit.

I'll let everyone know what I find out.

After much research I finally made the leap.

Had absolutely no problems with the install.

Everything works so far.

Installing Voice Command over the top in main memory gets the bluetooth headset button working.

Very fast. No battery issues. Trying 2.61 radio. (I don't do anything Halfway)

Here is the key to my problem: Desktop PC, registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows CE Services] create "AllowLSP"=dword:00000000 or if it exists, then change to null. Now everything is OK!

In ordrer to use Internet Sharing, you will need ActiveSync 4.5 on your desktop.

No need to install modem drivers or the like. Simply tap Internet Sharing > Connect. Then, hook up your phone via the USB sync cable. You'll see the balloon in the bottom system tray that Windows has detected a Windows-based Internet sharing Mobile device. Once that balloon tells you that your hardware is installed and ready to use, just open your browser and surf away. . . SOOOOOO much easier!!!

In WM5, it used to just put all the sim contacts at the bottom, after all the outlook contacts. But in WM6 it's just mixing them all up, and making thing's very confusing. I see no way to sort them in that manner, so if there's a way to just stop them from being displayed, it would be great for me.

Also, I cant get voice command to work. I recorded all my voice tags and have everything setup, but when I press the button on my headset, it just streams the audio from the PPC to it instead of bringing up the voice command page. I read someone re-installed the voice command ROM for it after the upgrade to Underground WM6, but I cannot find the ROM file to do this.

Well I decided I wanted to see what it looked like in person and give it a test - but it does not work. Everytime I try to upgrade my phone I get to 96%, it sits there for a few minutes then gives me a communications error. I have to pull out the battery & go back to the HTC original image. I've tried it 3 times now.. any ideas? I'd like to have a look at the new software in person. (Higher ups @ work liked my 8125 and we may end up ditching blackberry.. if there is something new coming I wanted to get a glance at it)

I'm getting so frustrated. I thought I had it all worked out. I un-did the registry setting for the Flash card power management and performed the ActiveSync schedule tweak using a fake server. After this it seems as though finally the device was sleeping as it should have. I would reset the uptime stat program, push the power button and then wake it up after about 20 minutes and it would say:

Uptime: 0m

Then my big mistake. I got impatient and then fooled around with it a little more and made a couple "suspect" changes that I should have taken my time and did a step-by-step test. What I did was:

1) changed from BatteryStatus to BatteryStatusExt
1) flash it to 2.61 Radio
2) within 30 minutes change my mind and flash it to 2.19 Radio
3) install a couple programs into the storage card
4) install iLauncher and add it as a tab to PocketBreeze and added a bunch of icons and the full array of 4 meters.

And now its not sleeping again. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Unplugged it last night fully charged between midnight and 2am. Didn't touch it at all. Touched it again at 11:30am and it said 68% and then I made it go back to sleep. On the way to work at 12:45pm looked at it before I made a phone call and it said 55%. At 8pm on the way to the gym it showed 20% on the way to the gym. I would get the running out of battery error, put it to sleep. At the gym its turns itself off. I plug it into the laptop and turn it on and it says 2%. WTF! That was only 2 hours and I didn't use it at all. It should have been showing 20% when I was done. I only made 2 phone calls each less than 2 minutes, checking 1 e-mail every 30m, 2 e-mails every 60m, updating WeatherPanel every 4h, and received 3 text messages. HORRIBLE!

My previous ROM setup would go through 6-8 hours stuck at 100% and then at the end of a typical day it would show no less than 70%. Low 80s were more common.

I'm not sure which step changed it. It could be iLauncher because of the meters, but then again I also run a second Today Screen with just Battery Status and its still having that problem.

It could be the change to 2.19 Radio?? I've only had it installed for 2 days and I'm not all that fond of it. I drive thru a canyon on the way to work and 2 miles out of the canyon its still searching for signal. I had to soft reset the phone to make a phone call. Molski 2.26 with 2.47 Radio was better. But this is new. I'm going to give it a week and see if it gets better. The 2.19 Radio definately is better than the 2.47 Radio with Underground.

I'm having the same battery drain problems no matter Layout #1 or Layout #2. The (*) indicates a new version or software that I did not have on my previous Molski 2.26/2.47 ROM.

Synopsis - I LOVE WM6 and XDA-Developers.com. There are other people with the same device and ROM and not having the same problem so I will NOT give up on my Underground =). I'm just voicing my tribulations in attempts to help others.

Well I decided I wanted to see what it looked like in person and give it a test - but it does not work. Everytime I try to upgrade my phone I get to 96%, it sits there for a few minutes then gives me a communications error. I have to pull out the battery & go back to the HTC original image. I've tried it 3 times now.. any ideas?

Try flashing to official T-Mobile 2.26 ROM first to give it a good base IPL/SPL. I've read this many times from very experienced members. I did it on mine going from 2.26 to this Underground.

I'd like to have a look at the new software in person. (Higher ups @ work liked my 8125 and we may end up ditching blackberry.. if there is something new coming I wanted to get a glance at it)

I don't think there is much to impress the higher ups between WM5 and WM6. Very subtle visual changes. The HTML in e-mails is a good one. Internet Sharing is another one. Network access (not sure if Blackberry can access company FTP or LAN). If you have someone in your company that can program in .NET/XML, I'm sure you can create some really bad@ass proprietary extranet applications.

Oh, with PocketMirror you can sync with your contacts from your company exchange server and/or work computer Outlook and you can also sync your personal contacts from your home computer. So now I can have my phone with all my contacts and they are seperated by categories (Personal category for Personal contacts, Work category for Work contacts, etc). You can filter them in the Contact app. I have a couple side businesses so I keep those contacts synced up properly as their own designated categories. Its wonderful.

It's almost simple... your PC Bluetooth needs to support Bluetooth Personal Area Network... my Sony Vaio has a Toshiba bluetooth stack...
So, then you need to pair the two devices, and hopefully jou've got a connection called Bluetooth LAN in your Network Connections on your PC.... make sure you enable it, then on the Wizard go to internet sharing and make su
