Hi good Afternoon / Morning pending were your from lol.
i have been spendnig a while on this forum and doing alot of reading on some Upgrades and to be honest am more confused than when i started.

I was looking to upgrade my rom in hoping it will fix errors and make it more stable and faster than what it is, Is this true?

My phone i have an XDA mini s Some Specs are:
Model No: W12A200
CPU: OMAP850
Speed: 195 MHz
Flash: 128 MB
Ram Size: 64 MB
OS WM5

Rom Version 2.21.4.1. WWE
Rome Date 3/9/06
Radio Version 02.07.10
Protocol Version 413.1.03
Ext Rom Verstion 2.21.4.101

i was wondering if anyone can Point me in the right direction i see 1000's of downloads and never know were to go.
At this moment, i have Default everything but with some skins,
Can someone just say to be in Basic what would be bext for me to do, what it does and what to download, i will be able to do everything myself i just need a hand in the right direction please

The first step is determining if you have a G3 or G4. Soft reset your device and let us know what your IPL/SPL are.

Am Ashuming this telles you if its g3 or g4?

Yes, it is a G4. Before you can do anything you will have to go to the pay website and pay for an unlock :(

After that you can flash it with any G4 Compatible rom. If the download for the rom does not specifically state that it is good for G4's or that it DOES NOT include IPL/SPL you should not attempt to flash it.

Flashing G3 IPL/SPL into a G4 will ruin your device.

Only use roms that do not include bootloaders.

Um sorry, but all of these things are spelled out in the wiki's, and the stickies. Don't start useless threads. I don't mean to be harsh but damn, it isn't that hard to find the info.

Oh i know, and sorrt for this, its just i was getting confused with the whole unlocking and the Cid unlocking,
From what i know i can only cid unlock when i have unlocked the phone.

But also i have been reading i can rom upgrade / flash without unlocking,
Is it chancing as i use this phone for Business use and dont realy want to chance buggering it, thats why am just trying to make sure with some adive from you guys that know alot more about it than me.

Sorry for the Constant questions, But your a friendly bunch and learnet alot here. and like the sound of alot fo stuff, But there is soooo many things am lost thats all :)

i have the 02 xda mini s g4 if you look on the g4 threads there is a shell you can download to flash your rom using it i flashed the rom to the wizard love rom then to underground edition crossbow before that i flashed it with pv4

i mucked it up the first time i done it and would not go past the splash screen but i download the 02 rom for my phone from the o2 website site flashed it worked fine again

what i will say follow the instructions you should have no problems
