The links are not damaged. The ROM images have been removed from the FTP per Microsoft's request, and the reason you find yourself here is one of the reasons MS and Carriers have asked these ROMS be removed. The other reason is because of leaked/modded ROMS that weren't supposed to be released for certain devices, and due to what MS calls violation of Intellectual Property rights.

Before doing any modifications to any WM device, its crucial that you know whats involved in doing so and the possible consequences that may arise if you make a mistake. This modding process takes a lot of reading and then some.

When I first started on this forum I made the same mistake of trying to install the ROM at htcamerica.net on my new wizard (because of lockups) as you have done not knowing what I was doing. I ended up bricking my device.

From your Post I know you have a device that has an IPL/SPL of 2.xx.0001. This means that you have a G4 device. G4 devices were introduced into the market to make it harder to modify them. G3 devices lack the .0001 on the end and are easier to mod. Of course the manufacturer and carrier isn't very open about this. All of this is covered in the Wiki. Fortunately I was able to follow the instructions in the Wiki and was able to Modify an original ROM and revive my bricked device.

I recommend you do some more reading, and if you are completely stumped send me a PM and I'll try to walk you through this... Of course... no guarantees your device will be recoverable. In an effort to fix their devices, some people end up damaging the device beyond repair and require that they be sent in for expensive repairs or replacement.
