well... currently flashing the Radio ROM in a speedy manner doesn't seem possible since from the USBmon logs of the Radio Updater, we can see that it does it in blocks of 0x10000 although I have had a minor thought;
when you try to perform the lnb command to flash the Radio ROM... it would seem plausible that this memory space is set to read-only hence my thoughts are;
will issuing rtask 2 followed by the lnb command possibly work since this will turn off the radio;
failing that, will entering the radio bootloader (possibly the main bootloader too), entering the password, exiting back out and attempting a flash via lnb work?
just a number of possibilities... but the fact that writing to that address space does nothing, including *not* bricking the device indicates the memory space is probably protected.
