ive recently just purchased an xda orbit (great pda)

ive just installed the co pilot gps and ive heard the gprs enables when you start the program this creating big bills.

does anyone know how to get round this or is it a myth?

thanks for your time

I think the best solution for this is just to edit your GPRS settings so that no matter how it is enabled, it cant make any connection to your service provider (example: put a different user avccount and password)

(example: put a different user account and password)

Instead of changing the username/password change the Access Point Name to something that will not connect. I have mine set to xxx. Some service providers do not require username/password, but in order to connect to GPRS you must have an Access Point.

The only downside is that you will have to manually change it back again if you wish to connect
