is it possible to transfer the german language into your new smart1 ROM?
I'd like to have your wonderful ROM in German.
Im an absolute beginner in cooking, so i wouldn't brick my device.

Smart1, I installed your SECOND New WM6 ROM. This time, it is really bugless. I could not find any bug.

The USB charging is fixed. No need to install any patch.

The power/battery comsuption is normal, no need to install any cab patches. With BT on, and overclock to 252MHz, overnight (10 hours) only drop 1%. Excellant!

BT stereo and handfree both works flawlessly.

BT and wifi profile were kept after multiple soft-reset, no matter what methods you used to reset. No need to paly the tricks as I mentioned before.

Windows update works.

Windows live and live messager works.

Model no. shows WIZA200, after multiple soft-reset, it is still there. :)

Anyway, I could not find any bug as other people said here. And I do not really understand why others got issues?
Actually, when I tried your first new ROM, I also could not find most issues as suggested by other people here. With the first New ROM, I only got USB charging issue and battery comsuption issue, and both were fixed easily. But this time, the second new ROM is really perfect!

of course, one small issue we all know is the button 1 and 2 re-assignment. But it is really not a big issue.

By the way, smart1, I do have two questions for you.

1), Do you know what file (lnk or exe) is connected to <Today>? I want to re-assign the soft key #1 (default is Calendar) to <Today>, so that I can press soft-key 1 to back to today screen. By the way, if I know which file is for this <today> function, I know how to change the default soft-keys.

2), I know you changed the icon for taskmanager. Could you do the same for psShutXP? The default icon is really ugly. Could you change it to a fancy looking one, such as vista style? I believe a lot of us are using psShutXP, it can benefit a lot people out there.

I am connected with WIFI with internet access.

Any idea to correct it?

and was wondering if WM6 has this "bug"? How long does it take for some of you G3 folk to bring up the SIP selector? is it instantaneous or does it take 2-3 seconds? 5+ seconds? Did you notice a difference after installing MS Voice command?

I have G4 device running WM6 and it indeed takes the SIP selector about 5 secs to come up. So i can confirm: same "bug" in WM6-rom yes.
and no, i don't have MS Voice Command installed.

Uhm.. I don't think so, no. As far as I know the wifi in this rom should work with every prophet-model. Did you try wifi right after you installed your ROM? It should have at least worked once.. else i can't help you.

i've changed successfully my Neo from wm5 to wm6. Problem is actualy: MobileNavigator 6 creates a new Device ID for Registration. My Question: Should i call the Service for a new Activation Key? whats about the Permission concerning the Operating System? I like the WM6 but i want to use MN6, too.
Is there a possibility to chance the Device ID to the Original? or to modify the Registrationinfo of MN6?

My have a XDA Neo (G4, unlocked with imei-check). The phone rings normal, but I have not got multiple calls at the same time in these two days. But every time when a call is coming, the phone rings. I use Radio ROM 2.47.21.

OK thanks smart1, i think I will go back to your first rom and the dll file from this new rom, the ringer has gone again, and a soft reset does not restore it, only a hard reset brings the audio back to life.

HOWEVER, having got to the same point as you and considered re-installing Vers.1 of this ROM, (I even re-installed the Vers.2 ROM a couple of times just to be sure!!) ...I decided to try one last suggestion - the one as per post #478... namely, to copy the sound file called "Ring-Vision" onto the SD card, into the My Documents folder... and RENAME it to, say, "MOZA1"... Now set this tone to be your new Ringtone in Start->Settings->Phone... and, well... beggar me if that didn't just fix the damned ringtones... AND the viibe+ring now works too!!

I hope this snippet of info. helps you and/or others and I hope it's not too late b4 you regress back your ROM!!!

BTW, I reckon all this points to some possibly corrupted ringtone files in the \Windows folder... at least for some of us?? Anyway, it's all now working like a good 'un for me and I'm well happy with this new lease of life for my Prophet (mine's an Imate Jamin G3, in case you were wondering!)

Good after 2 days of having proved very much the NEW2 rom of smart1, I have extracted the following conclusion:
1 - Is the best rom that I have proved based in WM6, rapid and stable.
2 - The consumption of battery is normal, alone when the screen is used very much it is when it consumes too much.
3 - Sometimes when you close a program, closed well, the processor continues working to 100 %, I believe that that's why the consumption of battery goes off, the only solution so that it returns to the normal state is doing a soft-reset.

Anyhow as I have said earlier for me of the best roms of WM6, it would be necessary to discover because the CPU continues working to 100 % occasionally and it would be perfect.

Hey guys i need your help!

Since SMART1 installation, I can't charge my prophet by usb if not synchronised with pc. It charges normally but just when the icon turns green!!!
Yeah USB charging works, but only in a computer. THe problem is that when in the car, i don't want my device to get discharged. You guys know how thirsty are navigation applications...

I tried batfix.cab but yeah ..it works but as i told you not through the car fire adapter usb. Also flashed again with v2.

PS...Car current gets 12v. And i used to do that charging thing before with other roms.

I have been using this for about 5 days now and it really works great ! Only issue i seem to have for my use, is the charging issue and the windows live / mail issue where it dosn't seem to be able to connect.. The mail does connect when on GPRS but not on wifi..

BUT ! This thread seems pretty messy.. Could it be possible to make a new thread where smart1 can post his progress ? And the current and newest version? Could be great!

And i would like to know if its possible to change back to a WM5 rom without any special steps ? Is it just to run the program and no tricky parts in that?

I have a similar problem but I have found a kind of work around. Currently I cannot charge my Prophet via USB on my pc at work because my work pc doesn't have activesync installed (and I'm not allowed to install it). Nothing I did worked. Power appeared to be getting to it but the ROM somehow prevents it from charging the battery. So I discovered that if you turn the phone off completely (ie. hold the power button hitting "yes" at the prompt) and then plug it into the USB .... it charges! Bummer if you need to use it in the meantime, but at least you can charge it.

It might nog be a bug. But a "function" of AS4.5.
On your computer add the following registry key (after that it should work right away):

My experiences with this ROM:
I've been using the V2 ROM from the moment Smart1 has uploaded it.
Here are my known bugs until now:
- WiFi bubble (top of the screen) shows "Turn WiFi On" when WiFi is already active.
In this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295438) topic they are also discussing the bubble.
- WiFi doesn't always activate when I want to turn it on using the CommManager. I see the MS spinning wheel, but after 2 or 3 seconds it's gone.
- sometimes identity shows "square" instead of WIZA200. Last time it happened I installed the TaskManager adjusted by Smart1, after removing it everything was fine again.
- IR does not work when sending contact (Novii Remote does work).

Maybe we can create a list of all bugs and post possible solutions with them? For example a WiKi about this great ROM?

1) try Softkey Changer.CAB (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35594&d=1174211720)
2) also try this cab (http://rapidshare.com/files/21907382/Prophet_keys.cab.html) it should change keyboard layout (start up menu - settinings - personal - buttons), I'm not sure it will allow you to reassign the keys though

But as you may have noticed normally when you press the start button you also have a sound (independant from screen tap and hardware buttons) This has never worked with your releases nor with nanghia's.

As for the midi part, you are right, patch needs to be installed (although I thought it was fixed with your latest release)

I fixed this problem by using the old soundreg-fix (http://home.rootoftheloom.nl/roms/cabs/soundfix_reg.zip) :)

- Lookup hwandsw.wav in your \Windows dir on your device.
- Copy the file to your PC and rename the copy to MenuSel.wav
- Copy the MenuSel.wav back to your \Windows dir on your device.
- Now copy the reg-file to your device and import it in your registry with a registry-editor (f.e. Resco Registry)
- After succesfully importing the file, go to start> settings> personal> sounds & notifications. Leave the settings as they are, just tab OK again.
- Done.

Tab your start menu to test! Hope this was helpful to any of you guys :]

False alarm, after a soft-reset the camera works with normality. This rom is very well, but it does strange things.

GOALS
Yesterday I had a S200 G4-unit with Jesterz-Aku 3.3-R1 on it.
I wanted to try out the Smart1-V2-ROM.


PROCEDURE and EXPERIENCE

A) First i had to install the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.
That went quite well. After everything was installed from the NVID-ROM and the prophet was in Today-screen, I initiated Smart1-V2-Rom by clicking UPGRADE_ROM.bat.

B) I got a DOS-windows which predicted the installation to take below 30 min.
After approx 10 min i got my first error-message on the prophet; "Cannot Execute repllog.exe". In addition to that i got an error-message on my laptop that "...this program needs .Net 2.0.507.27 to function correctly.." (didnt write down the message)

Then i was told by the DOS-ROM window to HARDRESET my prophet by pushing Camera-comm-mngr and soft-reset-button at the same time. (Not intentionally:THIS WAS THE FIRST USER-FAULT, comment later)

I started the unit, the WM6-screens came up, it installed a .txt-file i dont remember the name on and the unit was ready (i thought). Immediately i had these problems;

1) Contacts wouldnt show (the windows opened 0.5sec and rapidly closed)
2) AS would not syncronise (claimed i had memory-issues)
3) I kept getting this error: "cannot execute \windows\timewizard.exe"
4) In Programs i had several icons with no programs attached, amongst them; Zip, ClearVue PDF, Terminal Client.
5) My stored password for entry to the prophet changed after a soft-reset, and would then not allow me access to my unit again.

C) And since AS would not let me access the prophet without the correct password (so i could reflash it with smart1-WM6-V2-rom), the only choice i had was to install the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID-rom all over again. I entered the bootloader (camera-button + soft-reset) and proceeded from A) all over again successfully. Before installing the Smart1-V2-Rom, i this time upgraded my .Net software from Windows Update. Then made a softreset and in Today-screen, i again initiated Smart1-V2-Rom by clicking UPGRADE_ROM.bat.

This time i got only one error; on the ppc "Cannot Execute repllog.exe" (Upgrading the .Net software paid off). Installation went without any other errors and i again did a HARDRESET by pressing camera+comm-manager+soft.reset (Not intentionally:SECOND TIME FAULTY HARD-RESET). Restarting after my "hard reset" i had same problems as mentioned in B).

D) I decided to flash my prophet again, this time not via NVID, but directly from a Smart1-V2-install (without proper hardreset). The DOS-flashing went without any error i was told to make a hardreset again. This time i kept holding camera+comm.manager and pressing and release the softreset (still holding camera+comm.manager). and THIS TIME; I GOT THE HARDRESET CORRECTLY. A new window showed up; (Black screen, white fonts) "Press send to restore factory default, other keys to quit". I pushed the Phone-Pickup-button and it restarted like never before.

AFTER THAT, the Smart1-WM6-V2-rom works like a charm! Atleast for my need (sms, calendar, contacts, PIE). I didnt like the functionality of "Task Manager, as you cannot add exeptions(minimize, not close->will try out MagicButton, post experience later.

CONCLUSION
The description for installation provied by Smart1 is very good. The user must make sure he/she is familiar with how to HARD-RESET the Prophet (picture attached). All of the above-mentioned problems will resolv (ive noticed many other users with the same problems as described in B)

If others arent aware of that; you will have to install 3rd party-programs to replace ClearVue PDF and Zip. Maybe some other, havent looked carefully enough yet.

Well Done, Smart1!! The rom looks fantastic and works much faster than WM5.

(Im not sure if i dare putting a password again, if my prophet decides to change it without letting me know, i have to do all the procedure again, but this time fortunately correctly!!;))

Hi! Where are you from? I give you a suggestion that you should read all related posts before you flash rom. It would give you some background information and how you can solve problem when you encounter. Also sometimes after reading the posts, you could find out the rom may not be good to upgrade. At least you should read wiki before coming here.

I have read every single post in this thread (took me the whole afternoon) before i decided to upgrade....or testing WM6. I wonder how can you use GPRS. I always have "x" of that GPRS icon and unable to use the internet. I have installed a network wizard for 838pro, it sucessfully configured the GPRS settings, but still can't failed. (I can connect to the internet by Wifi and via USB cable to PC)

I related earlier that I have problems with Wifi. After some more test the more specific problem I have is the following.

When I soft-reset and turn Wifi on it works good.
When I use activesync to synchronize with my exchange server over Wifi it fails to get a link to the exchange server.
When I stop the synchronization and then try to browse a website again over wifi, it fails to connect to any website. The only remedy is to soft reset again.

I do not have any wrong settings, As I also have a universal on WM6 that does this like a charm. Looks like a bug?

I also got these two error messages when I flashed my XDA Neo (G4) with smart1 WM6 ROM everytime. But I just ignored it. And it turned out that everything is perfect fine. I did not get any problem with the new ROM. So, my conclusion is these two error messages is perfect normal and have nothing to do with your new ROM upgrade.

I never tried to deal with these two error messages since I know everything is fine. :)

Guyz, how to fix the bug with contact book? Even in the second rom cannot get access to my contacts and even syncronize with activesync. I get the message, that i dont have enough space to synronize etc. Plz, HLP!!!

make an hardreset (or go to system/clear storage) and it works fine. I also had this problem.

By the way this Rom is fantastic! For my use, i don't find any issue, beside the USB Charging, but i can live with it. Mostly i only charge via charger.

Oh wait, maybe one other little issue. If i turn on WiFi, normaly i can close it, when i click on the WiFi Icon and choose "turn off wifi".
But with this Rom i only can see "turn on wifi" although it already on. Click on that doesn't make anything. But this issue is really small. The advantage from this rom to WM5 ist much more than this issues

i tried the new (second) smart1 rom in combination with the widcomm cab (the one listed under smart1's post in this thread - i think about page 15 or so), and this doesn't install at all ?
I just hard-reset (+format), let the ext thing run and then immediately run the widcomm cab. result: unsuccessful for both device and storage card.

has anyone succeeded in installing/running this on the newest smart1 rom ? can you provide a link to the widcomm you used, there seem to be at least 2 different version of the widcomm thing, the one is a cab inside an exe, the other is a zip with 2 cabs, a readme and an unlock application inside)

a google stampede leared me that the error seems to be caused by 2 things:
either an error in the settings of the widcomm driver or you have too much stuff loaded and there is no room in the driver memory for more.
the way i understood the driver memory is sort of a private area in ram, consumed by drivers and probably today plugins.

the only way to free up is to uninstall plugins i guess.

the driver settings can be adapted with any regeditor:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\Seria lTransport]
BaudRate=115200
Device=COM
FlowControl=0
Parity=0
Port=1

and soft reset

note: this assumes the ms bluetooth stack is disabled.

previous time i combined several guides to make it work

I can now run the stack and so far it works flawlessly, but of course I'd like
the ms bluetoothstack to be completely shut off as you say. Or does the widcomm stack need the ms stack running?

EDIT: just for info to all: i used the following stack/cab (http://home.rootoftheloom.nl/roms/cabs/widcommstackx50v05.zip). I included the install.txt from the original zip.

EDIT2: It also occured to me that the blue BT-led is not flashing when BT is turned on using the widcomm bt-manager.
Although it's not a big issue, does anyone know how to fix it?

The standard ms-btstack in this rom works fine! It's just not a very good or easy/fast-to-use bluetooth manager. You have to configure a lot of crap and often have to pair with other phones/devices before you can actually share files. You can also use only 1 com-port per device (outgoing or incoming) and have to reconfigure it everytime you connect to a new device. It's simply ennoying and slow-working.

With the widcomm stack you got easy pairing/file-transering/connectivity between devices. Multidevice-support like headsets/gps at same time etc.

Sorry and thanks for your answers, I upgraded today to Smart v2 OK, but when I make Hard Reset, the S200 stays freeze on the screen with the Logo Qtek and the clouds and it don´t work...

I tried various hard and soft resets, but nothing worked.

I see the clouds and the Qtek Logo, and this data:

Did someone experience this problem? Can I fix that making something?

I fixed this problem by using the old soundreg-fix (http://home.rootoftheloom.nl/roms/cabs/soundfix_reg.zip) :)

- Lookup hwandsw.wav in your \Windows dir on your device.
- Copy the file to your PC and rename the copy to MenuSel.wav
- Copy the MenuSel.wav back to your \Windows dir on your device.
- Now copy the reg-file to your device and import it in your registry with a registry-editor (f.e. Resco Registry)
- After succesfully importing the file, go to start> settings> personal> sounds & notifications. Leave the settings as they are, just tab OK again.
- Done.

Tab your start menu to test! Hope this was helpful to any of you guys :]

Thank you Lo0m for the very well detailed clarification, I have had left very clear. Is the version that you have put a new version of these drivers?. I with the first rom of smart1 had problems with the BT I was not pairing off well with the free hands of the car, was losing configurations, etc ..., also I was not igniting the blue light, with the latter driver the only thing that it does not allow me to do is everything else gets connected to Internet using the BT of the PC it works well without problems.
Is there no way of integrating these drivers to the original BT of this rom and this way to use it from the ComManager??

update on the widcomm problems:
I hard-reset the smart1 new rom to clean it up.
installed the original widcomm driver cab (from axim site)
installed regeditor and changed:

from:

to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\Seria lTransport]

You should ask smart1 if it's possible to integrate the widcomm stack in his ROM.

It actually already is quite easy.. here's what I did exactly:

- First I installed the netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab (http://home.rootoftheloom.nl/roms/cabs/netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab) > the widcomm-installer used to ask for this cab when finished installing, so i ran it first to make sure
- Then I installed the widcommstackx50v05.cab (http://home.rootoftheloom.nl/roms/cabs/widcommstackx50v05.zip)
- When done installing > soft-reset > let device boot up again.
- Now edit the following lines in your registry (using a registry-editor like Resco Registry):

under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\Seria lTransport]

BaudRate=115200
Device=COM
FlowControl=0
Parity=0
Port=1

(I myself only had to change 'Parity' and 'Port' values)
Then soft-reset again.

- Now start BT using the widcomm-BT-trayicon on the today screen. Have fun!

The only problems I'm encountering using the widcomm stack is the blue flashing led which is not working (as I posted before), but also the following:

When turning BT off and using another connection (like GRPS/Wifi) via the commanager > all working fine.
BUT when trying to turn on BT again (after turning Wifi/GPRS off again) I once again get the driver memory-error and have to soft-reset to get BT working again.

I read something similar to this under another thread:
I found that if I have GPRS running with the Smart1 Rom, and I then disconnect it, I can only get it to reconnect by either soft-resetting the phone or toggling flight mode on and off.
Although my GPRS is working fine, this sounds quite like my problem.. >
I wonder if this problem only occures in smart1's WM6-rom or if it always happens using widcomm stack?

With that one you don't need to use the netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab or edit the registry..

Sounds great! You can imagine people want to know wich one is better? Smart1's WM6.0 V3 or AKU3.5 by Smart1 :D

One of the reasons I have to go back to WM5.0 is that the Infrared isn't working like it should. As mentioned a few times before, I can use Novii Remote. But when using contacts to send vCard by IR there seems no alignment. Also TotalCommander seems to show an error: Error in function 'socket': Transfer failed (code 10009).

I tried a hard reset, no luck. It's impossible that I would be the only one with this problem, don't you think?

Major strugle: Smart1 WM6 v3, Smart1 WM5.0 AKU3.5 or Asergs AKU3.3.13 :)

You don't need to unlock your device (G3/G4 doesn't matter) to upgrade to smart1's rom!

Did you do step 1 to install 2.2 version first before smartv2? If you did, what you need to do is wait a little longer when you get that cloud screen. It takes a while, but the device will boot back up to a green WM6 screen. Try waiting 5 minutes. If nothing happens, then you need to redo the entire steps again.

Its possible by pressing and holding the "hang up"-button, approx 3-5 sec and the GPRS/EDGE-connection will disconnect.

But there is one question:
I've unlocked the extended ROM and deleted the CABs to use this place for installing some software.
But after every Softreset there are the "original" cabs again in the unlocked ExtRom.
What must i do to protect the ExtRom from filling with Cabs after a Softreset?

my G4 Neo and the new Smart1 Rom are a (nearly) perfect team.
But there is one question:
I've unlocked the extended ROM and deleted the CABs to use this place for installing some software.
But after every Softreset there are the "original" cabs again in the unlocked ExtRom.
What must i do to protect the ExtRom from filling with Cabs after a Softreset?

A good way I think would be to split the OS.nb into their different parts so that you can mount the Ext ROM as an image-file with ExtraDrive Creator Pro! I done this very often with my XDA 2i! :D
I don't know any reason at the moment why it does not working!

That probaby has to do with the following:

4) Еxtended rom was moved in windows folder and contains only register fixes. I turned off the installation from real Extrom.

According to this the ExtRom was installed along with the OS i guess..

I wanted to try this cab, just to see if it was any different from the official cab I tried (which was giving me the memory-error when turning on BT again, after using another connection(wifi/gprs)). But when I started downloading the file it was only 60kb! This of course couldn't possibly be right, knowing the original file is about 8MB.. so the file is probably corrupt?

well.. I did have the same issues like, model no. profiles, windows live, midi files..blabla! But i'd figured out the the cab files did not install..soo I run them manually and AFTER the I've upgraded the Radio ROM to 2.61.21

It all fixed the problems, including the batterydrain!

soo.. here's what you must do!

1. install Total-Commander
2. go in TC to \Extended_rom
3. run ALL cab files manually.
4. soft-reset your device.
5. install the radio rom 2.61.21

And look @ a wonder!

hi guys.. i've just flashed my dopod 818pro with smart1 WM6 ROM at the first page of this thread.. after flashing it I couldn't seem to get connected to the GPRS/EDGE connection of my operator.. I've double checked all the settings and pretty much sure its the same b4 I've flashed it...

and another question if I were to upgrade to Smart1 v2 ROM..do I need to flash my phone back to WM5 first then only to Smart1 v2 ? OR I could directly upgrade it on WM6 ?

I put in the widcom stack and now the device is running sluggish and I'm having those same data issues you guys mentioned. I wanted the upgrade so I can get the BT to work with my car... the MS stack said no joy, the Widcom stack showed the car, but it wouldn't talk to it (no services found).

Not sure if this is related, perhaps someone can clue me in - i see all sorts of exotic version numbers, but at boot time I see:

gsm 02.47.21
os 10.2.0.8

IPL seems awfully low - but I don't know what I'm talking about in the version number category. If someone could help me back on the path, I'd really appreciate it!

I have 2 questions:

1) What ver of WM6 is included or better yet, is the "productivity suite" included in this ROM?

2) My Device is a CID G4 locked and I know that it doesn't have to be unlocked to be flashed, however I can't save my original rom. I bought my O2 Neo SIM unlocked online and it was flashed with the Jammin ROM. Will someone be kind enough to point me in the direction to download the original ROM. It seems you have to be a member of Club Imate to get it done.

This is a known issue, identified a couple of pages back in this thread.
The BT_StackX51V05 cab provided in smart1's post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1170084&postcount=136) is corrupt and doesn't (succesfully) install.
Smart1 was already informed about this and replied:

I've was in a hurry when packed bluetooth cab maybe I did something wrong. Had no chance to test it before posting as I've switched to vista on my desktop and there no proper widcomm drivers around. I will rebuild the cab file on Saturday.

So just wait for the new cab to be released by smart1!
Waiting for it myself as well :)

mn6 doesn't work under wm6. installation complete but there is no folder.
Try initialing from MN6.exe in the folder. Create a shortcut of it with RESCO FExplorer and send it to StartMenu with the same application (Send to start Menu as shortcut)

My new rom will be based on the newest Build: 17736. ROM to be released next week. RE AKU 3.5 it's almost ready and will be released tomorrow (GMT+3).

My new rom will be based on the newest Build: 17736. ROM to be released next week. RE AKU 3.5 it's almost ready and will be released tomorrow (GMT+3).

my friend have MMC and RSMMC card, he dont use SD card like us so when he upgrade his devide to your WM06 rom , his devide cant recogzine his card,he dont know why, this problem dont have when he use AKU3.3.13. only have when he use this WM06 rom

Congratulations for yoyr nice work.The only problem is that I could not complete the last step..updating radio. When I try to do that..my screen is going to color bars (Bootload) and the program stopping..can you please let me know the solution for this.

Read wiki.
You install a RadioRom from bootloader, not from whitin WM5/6. So..

- Hold cam-button & reset with stylus.
- Connect USB
- Run the RadioRom v2.61.21.exe

Got Smart1's latest WM6 ROM running on my neo since a week and so far I am very very happy with the stability and WM5 program compatibility, which makes this ROM nearly perfect and secure for daily usage at this state of developement. Old known problems with MMS, SMS, Contacts, USB charging, IR, Bluetooth, WiFi/GPRS surfing and password loss are solved either by default or by installing cab-files or registry fixes

Right now the only issues I noticed and couldn't solve

* Battery drains somehow faster while in use or in standby, installing "PDAVIET memory fix.cab" and "sd-battery-save.cab" didn't seem to help me. I believe everything started after upgrading my radio protocol to 2.61.21, but I have to admit I can't really prove anything right now, just my very subjective observation.

* A second incoming call cannot be taken while already on the phone. A notification window comes up but unable to accept second call you straight away see the Today screen instead.

* The WiFi bubble at the top of the screen states "Turn WiFi On" although WiFi is already enabled.

* Reassigning button 1 and 2 does not work.

* Phonepad keyboard option is not available.

Any other bugs either not noticed, not yet found or not recognized as such ;)

After everything is said I really can recommend "Smart1 WM6 ROM New v2" to everyone who is willing to update to the Windows Mobile 6 OS. Probably the best WM6 ROM for the HTC Prophet as yet. Many thanks Smart1 for all the effort you spent in this project making many of us more than just happy.

I'm afraid there are too many different Prophet hardwares out there, because it seems there are problems with the same roms that nobody else seems to suffer.

Mines (Spanish Movistar QTek S200 G4) are these:
- With MS BT stack I need to pair my car's Siemens handsfree kit every time I use it. It doesn't seems able to recognise it next time.

- Widcomm's stack won't even recognise the HF kit.

- My GPRS connection works for a while and suddenly won't. I need to delete it and recreate it or create a new one with the same settings.

- The backlight settings change to no light too often. Settings like turning the screen off get back to some dark configuration whenever it likes ...

On the other hand, this WM6 is faster than any other ROM I've tried, and it didn' crash at all in the few days I tried it.

Smart1, keep up the good work. Don't know if I could ever use this ROM with my problems, but it is really good otherwise... Thank you very much for it.

we we all contribuite our issues (hardware problems) to be solved.
my works perfect except i can answer any phone calls. botton dose not work,
and answer function comes and go. but i cant answer.
i try the binky11 with exnended rom cab extraction bu no use.
i try to hard reset and change radio rom (to 2.47.11) and keep u informd
good its only my backup phone. but great PDA thaw.....

downgraded radio rom to 2.47.11 and hard restet phone answer again. upgrade back to 2.61 radio rom again. and it start answering again.
i restore the sprite backup to its last state.
now every thing is working. so there is no conflict between applications and phone.
but it sims that hard restet after all the apgrade and not only soft reset,
is the solution to most of the littel issues

when i set one ringtone that i had for the previuse one machine go nuts....
i guess its why after hard reset and restore it was o.k

because this ringtone was not on backup setups.

Okay I have installed Smart1 V2. First of all thanks heaps to Smart1 for all his hard work, very much appreciated.

I'm having these problems: USB charging, and very high battery use. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong. I'm going to wait until the next version to try reinstalling.

Also, I have a 4gb SD card. Well it seems to corrupt a lot of the files on the card and I can't read them, for instance MP3's etc. I've reformatted the card and am copying stuff back on to see if it makes a difference.

smart1, thank you for uploading this wm6 ROM (v2), I've been testing it for several days now. I have installed it properly, along with all the CABs from the ExtROM and the 'bubblefix' patch for WIFI.

Here are the issues that I am experiencing: (some already mentioned on this thread)

MAJOR ISSUES:

- Email settings
The settings for my IMAP account disappear after a soft reset. Aaargh! It's a nightmare putting them back in again. I have tried the fix whereby you close all apps and power off with the hardware button, but they still go away.
The account disappears from the selection list, but is still in the registry somewhere, as if I try to re-add it I get the error "This account name already exists."

- WiFi activation
From a fresh boot, the only way to activate WiFi is from the Comm Manager. This then enables the 'turn on wifi' link in the menu bar. However, this only works a few times. Eventually, a soft reset is needed.

- WiFi Settings
After a soft reset, the WEP security settings for my WiFi network have disappeared and need to be re-entered.


MINOR ISSUES: (some with workarounds)

- Ringtone crashes
There are corrupt ringtones in the /Windows directory (eg Alouette.wav) so to get a ringtone setting to be properly remember, you must copy the Ringtone to /My Documents on the device, rename it and then choose this ringtone in Settings/Phone.

- Camera Capture in MMS
If you go to send an MMS, and choose the Camera icon from the bottom, the image is upside down and you cannot take the picture! Even if you turn the phone upside down the image is still upside down!



Are any of these issues resolvable with an update? Anyone found workarounds for the settings?

I may have to revert back to WM5 because of the Wifi/Email/Settings issues but on the whole - a really good stable ROM and lovely to try out WM6.

Remove the program that ULOCKS EXTROM and the extROM should hide.

There're no corrupt ringtones in the /windows directory, it's only an already known and solved midi-bug (alouette.mid, not .wav)

Thanks for this, much appreciated - although as I did mention in my post I have already installed all the programs in the ExtROM. However, I only upgraded my Radio ROM to 2.47.21, so I shall upgrade to the newest one. Do you think this would be the cause of my issues?

I have been tried to read this thread but I couldn't catch where to start, where to stop.
I thuoght this mixture of information should be summarized and procedurized for me and the other newbies.
I know me and the guys like me seem a little bit lazy to you.
But think yourself as a newbie and try to gather information for your self.
You'll see it is very complicated especially if you don't have expericence on these subjects and don't want to ruin you PPC.

I'll wait for smart1's ROM but, even for it I'll need some guidance in procedure detail.
Because some downgrades, upgrades, AKU's are required for most of the processes and I really dont know what those mean in PPC terminology.

I'm an electrical and electronics engineer (graduated in 99) I can understand and learn easily but I should be guided..

howdy all,
theres defo something not right on Smart1s v2 ROM regarding USB charging...the phone was charging fine up until now when out of the blue it wouldnt charge anymore..tried both PC USB cable and a wall charger but something strange happens...the built-in battery status shows that its charging but the Battery status plug-in shows that the phone is consuming energy (~ 191ma as opposed to ~ +642ma when charging) and the battery level doesnt go up.
Sorry if this is written too confusingly, not really with it today.. :)

when softreset with charger connected it just stays at the first 'HTC Innovation' screen, doesnt load any further. If charger disconnected, boots up all the way... :(

follow-up: the phone seems to be charging normally off the original HTC wall charger, however mystery remains why did PC USB and motorola wall charger stop doing what they were supposed to..both of them were charging fine for about a week since I installed WM6..and its defo not a hardware fault

I have noticed with this ROM that via Active Sync my outlook contacts are syncing properly from my PC to the phone, but if I make a change to a contact or add a new contact on the phone itself, those changes are not showing up on my PC version of outlook after i sync.

Anyone else experiencing this??

I tried installing ArcSoft MMS into this Smart WM6 ROM. It didn't want to go thru. I don't know exactly what was going on. Smart, please provide us with MMS cab that works with this. I tried nghianga WM6 ROM which turned out also not including MMS. This is a simple fix I guess but very important to my work's nature. Thank you for your attention

I use Smart1 v.2. I notice one problem with reseting when shows Now Screen in SPB Shell when prophet wakes up.

IR works well when I change in

HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\SerialIR\

DeviceArrayIndex from 15 to 0

Fantastic ROM Smart1 v2. Everything that I have tried sems to be working. This was my first upgrade - folowed the instruction that I searched and found!!
One minor issue, bometimes the battery does not charge from the USB (PC or Wall) Seemed to solve the issue yesterday after draining to 35% and starting to panic - soft reset while plugged in - it hangs on the HTC screen as mentioned elsware by if you unplug, let it continye to the next screen then plug it in, ha presto it contiues booting and then charges... horay.

That happened to me with my Imate's old rom.I could send archives but not to receive them.I haven't try this last version v2 so I can't say any.One guess, it would be great if we all who use Smart's Rom give Smart a little amount of money to support his effort.I will wait for the new comming rom ;)

Hi Fabar, jejejeje, and that we do speaking English?, jejeje. That thing about the money is complicated from here, to do transferences out of Spain they receive from me great commission, if it was with easier serious Paypal. It seems that this piece of news is late rom, I hope we surprise Smart1 with a rom with all these tidy bugs.

Grt Rom, i am extremely happy with it.
Just one ques, the system font shown in all the Wm6 photos from Ms looks bolder and softer on the edges compared to the Tahoma font in this Rom.
Which is the font used in Wm6 devices?
