Reading the changelog:
dude.. FYI, smart1's rom is adapted from nghianga's rom, which commanager's background is plain blue(sick), and smart1 fixed it by replacing the wm5 background back into the commanager, that's why u'r getting this lil nice wm5 background on the wm6.
That's what the changelog's supposed to mean.

Look in the WiKi how to enter it in bootloader mode... That way you should be able to reflash it...

Any changelog or differences between the ROM's?

Tried the previous link yesterday. But switched back because of IR problems. IR does work, but not with beaming contacts in address book. Novii Remote does work.
This problem was also known with AKU3.3 ROM's but guys like Aserg fixed it ;)

Another small bug:
- the camera shortcut in Pictures and Videos points to the errored camera program which is not used by the camera button(main camera program).. so maybe change it to point to main camera program will do the job.

Same version here... I have a G4 and no charging issues...



@smart1 please include the arcsoft MMS composer cab in your release, it's somewhere in the Uploads/Wizard directory on the FTP... As this is related to a function of the device this should be included even in the Clean Rom...

Maybe you could add an Ext Rom, don't now if autoinstall works on WM6 or not..

Great ROM! I seem to have a small problem though.. ..for some reason my SMS mesages are not stored. After a soft reset my inbox is emtpy again :(

A friend of mine is using the underground version for the Wizard. He has the same problem. We both use SMSDRFixWM5, I've uninstalled it, but the problem is still there. Any help on this one?

People speak of this ROM having the Wizard's buttons. What does that mean?

Using this ROM, are you able to change the function of your buttons 1 and 2 (windows and OK buttons)?

Test it with something like Explorer mapped to button 2...

This inbox/mail account issue has been around since any 3.3 ROM and WM6, there is somewhere a post relating to some registry entries being deleted on a soft reboot, and a file being lost also.

I would think it would be relatively easy for one of our genious's ? to sort this one.

Apparently if the phone is software reset rather than a poke, these messages/accounts remain.

I would also love this one to be sorted, its my biggest bug bear :(

after i flashed smart1_wm6_pp8mb_CLEAR ROM, I have still Battery and Charging Problem with original Battery as before:

Main Battery: Unknown. Battery Power remaining: nothing

after using Battery-Status always showing -1% and cannot charge via USB.

I have also installed XDADev_BatFix.CAB fix.

Hope next version will solve these Problems just like Aserg AKU 3.3.12 Rom Version.

I added a file associoation for .mp4 extension to mediaplayer and it still wont play. I get errormsg "Cannot play the file. The file is either corrupted or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play." So I recorded a video (mp4) with pda itself. It doesnt play either.

Searched for hours now and still cant find it. I even didnt find any post that describes the "problem". Is it a problem anyway? Am I connected to the right provider, and is it only displayed wrong on prophet? If that's the case it doesn't bother me at all. Or am I really roaming on this other mobilenetwork? Hope anyone knows!

I installed Smart1's ROM (really faster than WM5) and found some problems in my Spanish QTEK S200:

- Battery charging issue. Reset makes it charge again. Could live with that.

- Brightness set to minimum everytime the S200 is reset. Could live with that again.

- GPRS connection stops working on every reset. Reviewing settings makes it work again. Really annoying.

- Battery discharges a lot faster than with WM5.

- Bluetooth does not work at all with my car's Siemens Handsfree kit. MS Stack recognizes it but causes a bluetooth error. WidComm's stack won't recognize the kit, as it always happened with this stack in every version and every PDA I've tried. Nghianga's WM6 MS stack worked (with problems, but it did).

Sadly, back to QTEK's own WM5 ROM.

On the other hand, thank you very much Nghianga and Smart1 for your job. I'm sure in a few days I'll be back to WM6 world with it.

Great work and very good rom, but I have had to remove it because the connection was not working well with devices BT, with the free hands of the car it was not working and he could neither send nor receive files neither with another phone nor with the computer. Was it possible to have solved that? I liked much because it is quite rapid and stable.

Same problem here. The problem exists in both ROM's.
I've noticed that Nghianha's ROM doens't have this problem. But problems like messages that aren't saved on softreset (the stylus way) and the IR problem made me decide to go back to WM5.0.

I just tried and met one question.
It meantioned "playsound.exe" wrong at the end of flash.
I just ignore it and finish, the problem is there is no sound with keyboard as "windows" "ok"... but the othes are ok.

For the keyboard I'm using Resco Keyboard Pro and it works fine on my device but the rest like menu's or dialogs/error messages ...!



And by the way: how do I get the Widcomm BT stack working on the clear version of this WM6 rom? Must I modify/add/delete some

As far as I understand the current ROM is based on the Wizard's version, so it is not compatible with the Win(Start menu) and OK buttons on the Prophet - their actions cannot be changed.
Any chance this issue will be fixed in the new version?

Hi, I just installed the smart1_wm6_pp8mb on my XDA Neo (G4, unlocked). Everything works fine, except one REALLY BIG issue: The bluetooth works for stereo, but not work for hand-free. Since I used my HS-12W all the time, listen music and make phone calls. So, this is really unaccept for me. I really hope smart1 can work that out.

other than that, I found all the other issues which I worried a lot before I flash the ROM was not really issues for me.

I paired my bluetooth stereo headset (HS-12W) with WM6 (XDA Neo, G4 unlocked). It showed 2 options (hand-free and stereo music) as normal. But the hand-free actually did not work.

(1) When I make a phone call, the sound still goes from the spreaker, but not from the bluetooth headset, and also, the hand-free icon does not show up in the dial panel.

(2) When I use it to play music, the stereo mode works. I can hear very nice music from the headset, and all the other buttons (like pause, forward, reverse....) works.

(3) When I tried to make a phone call while media player was playing music, the stereo music from bluetooth headset paused (which is perfect norml), but I still could not hear anything from BT headset during the phone call conversation. But as soon as I hang up the phone, the music came back and resume (Which is also perfect normal).

So, the only problem is when you make the phone call, the sound is not transmitted to the BT headset (I guess it might be solved by registration hack?). Other than that, all other function of the bluetooth works pretty well.

Overall, it is an almost perfect ROM. But the bluetooth really need to be fixed.

By the way, the wifi and bluetooth profile were kept after soft reset. So, this bug is not on my phone.

When I type a SMS or look up a phonenumber it would not find the rest of it.

Thanks, smart1. Your ROM is really great, except one or two bugs remains. You know, a functional BT is really important for those who using bluetooth stereo headsets all the time. Because of this bug, I had to go back to my previous WM5 rom. That is just too sad....

I am waiting for your next release, and hope the bluetooth problem will be solved in the next version.

One of my friends just flashed his wizard with a newly released WM6 ROM (it is a Chinese ROM, though. You can find info from here if you can read Chinese, http://bbs.pdafans.com/thread-315141-1-1.html).

It is almost bug free!!! Runs very smooth, and all of bugs we are talking about in our prophet WM6 ROM seems have been fixed. Model no. shows WIZA200, windows update works, too......

I hope some day we can have our own perfect WM6 ROM for our prophet owner.....

There are only two things I would like fixed in your new release, but I think they are big....

Email accounts dissapearing on reset........this is due to a file being lost on soft reboot

And BT/wireless profiles being remembered at this time also

* and restart

now you can softreset without loosing any of your settings. And you only need to do the above procedure once.

It worked for me without any issue. I can softreset my prophet (no matter by push the hole, or by 3rd-party softwares) without losing my profiles.

Just quickly: Have played with the new rom for about half an hour. Can't find any bugs yet. Seems to run perfectly. I have restored a backup (using Sprite Backup) from my previous WM5 Rom with all the apps installed. Except for a few missing applications (Calculator) it seems to work fine. I have used wifi, SPB pocket plus, PTVNC, Battery Status, TCPMP, mobipocket, and a few other apps. All work except for some mapping software I use. Although I have noticed there is no MMS .... not that I use it a lot but thought I'd mention it.

Yes you do. But make sure your phone is connected to Active Sync when you do. It then loads a dos screen and loads automatically. It takes a while (15 mins or so) and it looks like nothing is happening for most of it, but hang in there and it completed and tells you when it is done.

Had to use batfix.cab to get the charging working.
Tries to sync with exchange when off the cable and doesn't remember password. No schedule is active.
Seems the same as the last release.
IE GPRS not working.

thanks, while I was updating I got a 'cannot execute repllog.exe' notification error on my device. I clicked on 'ok'. Then I waited a while and I get a popup on my computer, it is titled 'Playsound.exe- Applicaton Error' and reads 'The application failed to initialize properly (0cx0000135). Click on OK to terminate application'. I clicked on ok, and the flash finished after that. Seems successful (I've done this twice now just to make sure (downgrade to step #1 and then to step #2).

When I use the device, upon startup, I often get an error message that says ' cannot execute \windows\Timewizard.exe'. When I open Contacts, it opens and closes right away (as someone else has mentioned).

Bluetooth (both stereo and hand-free modes) worked great! This is the most important fix for my everyday use. I have decided to stick with this ROM, and I do NOT have to switch back to WM5 anymore.

The model no. fixed in my machine. It shows WIZA200. But shouldn't it be PM300?

Activesync and contacts, calendars worked perfectly. I did not lost any info after soft-reset.

The USB charging is still an issue, but you can easily fix it by installing XDADev_BatFix.CAB. So, this is the only bug I have found, but just so easy to be fixed.

The built-in camera program works fine at 2MP resolution, but coolcamera got some issue. (1). the max resolution can not reach 2MP, but is 1.3MP. (2), the picture is inverted (but you can fix it in settings of coolcamera.)

By the way, the button 1 and 2 can not be re-assigned to other program. This is the old bug we were talking about.

In order to install smart1_wm6_pp8mb_NEW, I need to downgrade first to RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID, then upgrade again?

I don't get why I can't install directly smart1_wm6_pp8mb_NEW over the old one, but as soon as it doesn't brick my device...

By the way I heard that downgrading to a lower version of IPL could cause a brick, but no one confirmed... how can we know what version of IPL a rom is before flashing?

I would strongly recommend that you do not use backups especially wm5 onces as it may cause a lot of trouble. fyi, mms are now kept in the same folder as sms.

First of all, smart1, u did a great job. But.. I got some new issues not mentioned here and I cant live with them:

1) Clock.
I dunno whats the prob, but when I switch the phone off (just "sleep" mode), wait for some time and then switch back, the clock is at 23 hours (11pm i guess, i'm european :)). Thats so annoying and it aint good.

2) Cannot sync with activesync 4.5!
When I plug the USB cable in, the activesync will start rotating and it tells me that is going to sync the contacts. After couple of minutes it will skip everything and just sync the Notes. My firewall is turned off, of course. After all, it will tells me that desktop sync cannot be done because the outlook database (or what, i dunno exactly) is too large. However, I'm not syncing my emails. This is so weird and unnacceptable for me now. On the other hand, after that Outlook and Activesync get stuck and I'm forced to restart my computer.

I was doing upgrade on WM6 from one of Jesterz AKU2.2 roms. I looking forward for next usable release. As i said, u did a great job smart1, keep on killin bugs. I hope that this will help you to locate all the bugs.

No, I think you just need any AKU2.2 rom.. I was flashing WM6 from Jesterz aku2.2 and everything went well. I also have a G4 prophet.

Smart1, I apologize for my previous post, that sync failure was because of Kerio (I had to uninstall it, not just turn off). But what about that clock problem? I will wait for next bug-free release. And lookin forward to it!:)

Thank you Smart1 for the rom, it works very well, rapid and stable, I at the moment only have found 2 bugs:
1 - Charge for usb, although I prefer that I do not load.
2 - Disappearance of the MMS. All the programs they work perfectly. Let's hope that the MMS and the connection GPRS should solve that thing about and it will be a rom almost perfect.

But then another thing came up as I was reading another thread on this forum. It seems some dude called Happy at PDAMobiz.com also released a WM6 prophet rom 3 days ago > url (http://www.pdamobiz.com/show_news.asp?NewsID=80800&PN=1) (page loads slow and is in some weird language, but understandable because of pics :p)

His rom has, of course, the same installation procedure as yours (first downgrade, then upgrade), but i wonder if it could be based on your rom, or any WM6 rom released on this forum or is this one completely different?

I guess I'm going to find out and try the rom :) I'll keep you posted on my experiences here.

It's not a hardware problem because in sound's and event's it's ringing... i already try soundfix.reg, but i couldn't import it to the registry... any suggestion!?

First of all, BIG thanks to Smart1, your ROM is the best one I have tested, it really rocks!

Everything worked fine with your new release, though I installed some patches after flashed the ROM (see below):

(1) Bluetooth (both stereo and hand-free modes) worked flawlessly! This is the most important fix for my everyday use. I am going to stick with this ROM, unless new release is out by Smart1. By the way, the sound quality is also much better than before, no drops, very smooth and good sound quality (I am using Nokia HS-12W).

(2). Profiles of wifi and bluetooth, and email accounts are kept after soft-reset if you use a simple trick as I mentioned in previous post.

(3). The model no. fixed in my machine. It shows WIZA200. Though it is not PM300, it is perfect fine with me.

(4). Activesync and contacts, calendars worked perfectly. I did not lost any info after multiple soft-reset.

(5). Internet through wifi or USB-PC connection both work fine.

(6). windows update works fine, though no update available at this time.

(7). Battery dispaly works.

(8). The built-in camera program works fine at 2MP resolution, but coolcamera (I use the most recent version 1.15) got some issues. (1). the max resolution can not reach 2MP, but 1.3MP. (2), the picture is inverted (but you can fix it in settings of coolcamera.) But I agree with Smart1, this is not a bug of the ROM, since the built-in camera works perfectly, but compatibility of coolcamera, I guess?

the rom seems to work really good, thanx to smart1 for the great work...:)
But there is still one bigger problem for me...

The battery is discharging while the device is plugged in with usb cable.
battery indicator says: charging, orange led is lightning
but the battery discharges, and the battery drain seems to be very high, it looses power from 100% to 80% within one or two hour or so.
now i installed the memory fix and sd-battery-save.

i am looking for the xda-battfix but can´t find any link to it, may anyone post it please.
Hope this fix would help, or are there any ideas where the fault could be?

The task manager is not included in this new ROM. I used to use Wisbar and ilauncher with WM5, so I did not have to install any other task manager softwares. But now, the WM6 looks pretty already, so, I have no plans to install Wisbar or ilauncher, or pocketplus. I am also wondering which program I should install to work as task manager. If you have any idea, please post here.

By the way, I am using HTC X-button right now to real close programs. So far, it works fine. But may not be the best choice.

I am attaching the HTC X-button here, hope it helps.

The task manager is not included in this new ROM. I I am also wondering which program I should install to work as task manager. If you have any idea, please post here.

Mi IR works when i use NOVIIREMOTE for instance... you know turning the tv off. But transfering files is not working for me... i keep on testing. Anyway i don't feel like it's essential

No, IR Is not working for me.

Also I've other problem, Pylon Anywhere (yea, my SPV M600 comes from my company, using Lotus Notes) is not capable to synchronize mail (contacts, task and calendar are OK); but i'm affraid this is a WM6-incompatibility, no problem with your ROM version.

I updated with sharebigfile.com_RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721 _NVID.exe and then tried the smart1 update but the bat-file says it can't copy files and asks if the dll is in use and the say it's finnished? what is going /am i doing wrong? :confused:

Hi smart1,
I just flashed ur new version.
Things look normal.

But external Rom could not be uploaded either way.
I tried separate dos method and RUU method to flash my extrom after flashing ur wm6, but on hard reset customization adruptly finished just showing " uploading config.txt.."
While the same extrom wrkes well with other older AKUs.

what going wrong?
