I had a T-Mobile Compact III for a few weeks before I returned it to them due to the lack of WiFi... I now have an O2 Orbit ( co-pilot package ) .... I'm a total newbie to pocket PCs but I thought I'd list the differences/features I have found.

T-Mobile gave freebies of a decent leather case and a screen protector so that was good. No such things from O2 .. And isnt that O2 box a bugger to get into and find all the bits? Its like something from Hellraiser. I couldnt find the charger and battery for 10 minutes. Not really important I know just rather funny :-)

Compact III had NO WiFi .. O2 orbit comes with it. A major ( HUGE ) difference and I still have NO idea why T-mobile cut the WiFi off the UK version.

The GPS/Sat Nav on the T-Mobile was loads faster. I was using TomTom 5.2 on the T-mobile and am using Co-pilot on the Orbit so could this be software? I think its the hardware since the Orbit seems much slower at finding Satellites. Anyone got any ideas ?

Co-Pilot VS TomTom .. Well I preferred TomTom but maybe because it was the first Sat Nav I used. Co-Pilot sems rather difficult to navigate and locations ( when picking 'Current Location' etc ) are rather innacurate. TomTom told me where I was with much greater accuracy.

The case cover to battery/sim/SDcard on the Orbit releases with a little button . The case on the T-Mobile slid back nicely and was rounded to the case . Nicer I think...

The silicone case that fits the T-mobile beautifully is a wee bit stretched on the Orbit around the control dial.

Stylus on the Orbit is a bit of a bugger to get out with the silicone case on. No probs on the T-Mobile.

Still a total pain that the SD card is hidden away in the depths of both devices... A phone I had ( Motorola ) had a side loading micro SD card slot so it is possible..

Hope this helps if you are considering either phone .. I cant comment on deals in shops or online deals since shopping round to save a fiver is a bit of a waste of time to me.

Cheers, Will
