Easiest way is to call your provider for settings. My provider just emailed them all to me so I can set them up whenever needed.

lol! I know what you mean... they should have a technical department for support with more advanced handsets like the Universal, just ask for them. If not, I'm sure there will be another TMobile USA user somewhere in the forum who can give you theirs. Good luck, keep us posted.

P.S... it may be worth giving Jwrightmcps a private message as he seems to know a lot of the providers settings, just a thought.

So, to be clear, I should tell t mobile that I have a mda pro, not an o2 exec, in essence they are the same unit correct?

Yes, same unit, different branding in different countries. Original model name is the HTC Universal. Hope fallenczar can help you out earlier though :)

I'm on the phone right now with tmobile usa and they are telling me that I will need the 29.99 plan to actually get on the net, as when as of yesterday I was still getting internet with my regular plan of 5.99. Also that mda pro does not support t zones, but mines did before the upgrade, also that by march 1st this year in NYC, not even my p910 will work with t zones, they will need the 30$ a month plan. Now this is ridiculous.

If you ask me, they're trying their best to get you on the $30 plan by any means... and it's a load of B$! Might be worth asking the reasons why it wouldn't work on t zones (and is that public wireless access or GPRS connection?).

I know US doesn't support 3G/UMTS2100, but that has nothing to do with GPRS...

Editted*** just came accross this thread, take a look!!!

Ok, super officialy tmobile costumer service is the worst, I have tried myself all the settings I could scrounge up myself, please, someone dig me out this hole...lol. Is that if I cant get online with my o2, then is a huge part of it that I cant use, and its really vital. But on a good note, I can get online on my p910, so that atleast is happening.....HEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!

Hi,

I'm from Holland as you can see, but the settings must be the same isn't?

Start/Settings/Connections/Conections/ 'Add a new modem Connection'

Name for the connection: T-Mobile
Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Acces point name: Internet
User name: t-mobile
Password: t-mobile

Finish.

Maybe this works!

Greetings, Leo :D

Thanks, now for the ignorant question before I attempt, how do I properly install the cab file, and where. Thanks in advance, and for everyone who is also trying to help.

Just copy the CAB onto your unit somewhere (anywhere, just so long as it's on the phone's memory or the SD card), then just go to it via explorer and click on it to open. Installer will do the rest. If asked where you want to install, select the device. And that will hopefully be problem solved woo hoo :D

The set up file is in XML format, and when I do the above it just opens in IE in HTML code, nothing else happens. What am I doing wrong?

do you have any program in the extended rom to install the operator settings...

anyhow

soft reset and try again...try installing from the main memory...

if that dosent work try downloading again....also try this files that i have attached....put both the settings and the file in the extended rom..and run this file...the rest should be obvious

It says customization tool cannot be installed, thats what it actually says. Now, Since I am new to this, where on my device do I find the extended rom?

why oh why I have tried all yet nothing.lol. Its funny, when I had a previous rom with wm5, I could use the net, but not my MMS. Now is the exact other way around. This is greatly frustrating, especially since I love the phone and I have million other uses for it. But my p910 still can go online, which just gets me more upset.

The carrier zip installed, and nothing changed. The Tmobile USA zip, will not install at all. Now I am wondering, should I or can I even use another wm6 rom? And if so, which one and will that help me at all? I'm just so happy that MMS works, all I need is my internet, and I will be sooooo good.

Did you soft reset after installing the CABs? Might be needed.

Thing is I dont have the options to place the Data Bearer, or Data settings. I have tried those to the best of my ability, maybe I need to actuallyt see a universal set to those settings and see how they go, I will keep trying.

metalslugx ,

I had sent you a pm, asking for some info but nevewr got a response!

Anyway, I can't help but say you are doing something WRONG! Your internet should work without any issues. Now with that said, I need to know the following if you want to connect again:

Where are you located in the US (east, mid or west)

What type of T-mobile data plan do you have (PAYG, Unlimited or VPN)

What access point you connect to (i.e. wap.voicestream.com, if you don't know call t-mobile and ask)

Once you provide me the info I will create a cab file for you that will WORK.

Please pm me the info (as you may not want this info posted)

Take care,

-Jwrightmcps

here you go

This does the trick on WM6, just that you have to go in and add the proxy for HTTP in addition to WAP (which is already there).
