 Hi there,

I have an Orange M1000 Pocket PC (also sold as a XDA II or QTEK 2020 etc etc).

It's running Pocket PC 2003 Version 4.20 (Build 13252).
Rom Version: 1.60.00WWE
Rom Date: 12/03/03
Radio Version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.60.38

I'm trying to get my Globsat BT338 GPS Blue tooth reciever to work with TomTom 5.21(5430).

The thing is I know that my the GPS unit is on COM5. The software utility that it comes with

and installed on the PDA, picks it up on com5 and I can see the Satelite signal strength.
In TT5 under "Other Bluetooth GPS", when configuring, The only Com port the comes up is

COM6. COM5 does not show up. I've also tried TT6 and it has the same problem. I've also

tried choosing "Other NMEA GPS" and manually specifying the baud rate but again only Com 6

comes up.

The thing is, I've also got a QTEK 2020 (supposed to be the same thing!) which works fine

with both TT5 and TT6. On the Qtek the GPS unit comes up under COM5 and it works fine (and

has been working fine for 6 months).
The QTEK is running Pocket PC 2003 Version 4.20 (Build 14053).
Rom Version: 1.72.00WWE
Rom Date: 03/15/04
Radio Version: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
ExtROM version: 1.72.125

Don't know why it only comes up on COM6 on the Orange M1000.

I've tried unpairing the devices (on both PDA's) and re-pairing again only on the M1000,

ticking the "outbound COM port: 5" option under "Bluetooth settings". I've sucessfully

paired a Hands free Headset with the M1000 just to make sure that it's blue tooth is

working. Any ideas????

It's been a while since I looked into this for myself. I use TT6 and a TT dongle now.

Try installing Beeline GPS http://www.visualgps.net/BeeLineGPS/

Pair your Bt338 and you should get a signal on beeline. Then set TT as other wired device set your baud rate as in the bt338 guide and choose com 5 (I think). It should then work.

Play around with these settings. It took me some time to get this working but once it was set it worked every time.

For some reason you have to have Beeline on your XDAII for this to work, same settings failed without it installed.

Good luck ;)
