Hi, I have a unlocked Cingular Treo 750 and none of the settings that work in every other WM5 phone that I've used seems to work. I'm using Fido in Canada. APN should just be internet.fido.ca and that's it for settings. Any idea what I need to do? Is there some hard setting in the phone?

on the phone you should just be able to go to Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Connections> Add a new modem connection> and put whatever name you want>then modem select Celluar Line (GPRS, 3G)>APN internet.fido.ca
I don't remember the registry entry, but I know some ROM's have the cingular proxy hardcoded into it. You can remove the entry, but you'll have to search for it. I think it's something like proxy.cingular.com, but I could be wrong. Should be fairly simple to find though.

The proxy is not hard coded into any 750 ROMs.
If you run the phone with a Cingular SIM, the SIM will autoconfigure a proxy however. Just hard reset the phone and insert your own SIM then enter the net settings.
