I've just hit this issue after using WXML 0.21 successfully for several days on my 8525.
Last night I read the posts about Cingular Video and how a different UserAgent string in the browser might fix the problem. After installing WXML 0.21 I had configured my phone/data settings manually, and hadn't bothered with a MediaNEt setting.
Having seem a CAB file floating around that contained the Cingular settings, I went ahead and installed that. Now, I also installed BandSwitcher and the Memory Cache/HSDPA icon fix.
So now I had a MediaNEt setting and tried accessing Cingular Video. No luck there (but I wasn't totally surprised based on posts from other folks). I switched off my phone and went to bed.
This morning I switched on my phone and saw I had no emails pushed from Outlook - very odd. After playing with my phone for a few hours and discovering this thread, I realized I am now suffering from the ActiveSync problem.
I can only summize this was caused by either the Cingular settings CAB or BandSwitcher (and I could also be totally wrong of course). Did anyone else who encountered this problem use the same files?
I'm going to have a busy weekend re-installing WM6 on my phone!
its the cingular settings cab. i troubleshooted that same problem last night and it led me to that cab!

Hi all !
I have the following setup:
WMXL 0.20
RADIO v1.34
BBConnect 2.1.2.54
HSDPA disabled
Strange problem is here -
when i stay connected for a long to the Internet via 3G/UMTS... etc (not-WiFi) there are three bad things happened:
1. Battery is draining like hell - about 50% per 5-6 hours of been connected with switched-off screen.
2. The battery and device becomes noticeably warm.
3. Device becomes rather slow.
When i switch off the connection, everything becomes ok. No warm device, no battery drain, device work damn fast again.
Anybody has this effect ? Any advice ?

Not running WMXL myself, but have you tried kicking the radio down to GSM/GPRS mode as a test?

How to do this ? How to fix RADIO to use GSM/GPRS - only ?

How to do this ? How to fix RADIO to use GSM/GPRS - only ?2 options:
1. There is a registry tweak that enables the "Band" tab in Phone settings (this is automatically enabled in LVSW... can't speak for WMXL).
2. Use BandSwitch, which allows you to control the radio "on the fly".

Good afternoon to everyone;
It would want to comment a problem that I have with my Tytn and that takes crazy person to me.
I comment to you: I have updated to wm6 and since then when receipt or I make a call the loudspeaker activates automatically and I must extinguish it every time. Pq is a very uncomfortable situation whenever receipt the call connects the loudspeaker to the few seconds and they do not listen to me well until I must extinguish it manually.
Somebody knows that it can happen?, Perhaps some change in the registry exists?.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my bad english, i'm fron spain.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to this ROM. Anyone with a solution yet? Having it plugged in, the screen stays on all night long. I have the backlight set to turn off after 1 min w/ external power.
Upgraded to V0.21 and am happy excpet for one item, I have the backlight timeout at 30s and standby set to 1m the backlight goes out after 30s as it is supposed to but the TyTn never turns the screen off and does not lock the buttons I have tried different combinations same results.
I am running the following software:
Photo contacts Pro V4.03
Phone Alarm V1.58
Weatherpanel V2.5
Dinarsoft Handy Switcher V2.7 (task manager)
Anyone else seeing this issue?

on my calendar, it always starts up in Month View. This is regardless of whatever I put in the Tools->Options->Start In setting.
Can anyone else reproduce this, or is it only my TyTN.
Not really that annoying, but a small bug nonetheless...
Change Registry:
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112 and /113
Key "open" in keys 112 and 113 contain the links to the programs (LSK and RSK = Left and Right Soft Key).
My key showed \Windows\RSK\HTCCalendar.exe, I changed it to \Windows\Calendar.exe (I have calendar on right softkey).
Then stop all programs to re-start calendar, and this time it should follow the settings. Every time you change the settings (monthly view to day etc.) stop the calendar.exe, as the settings are read only on a new start.

I have a problem replying, or forwarding outlook email using WMXL v0.20. If i click reply to a message i am presented with a blank screen with no option to add email addresses, type text in etc. I am unable to 'cancel' message and have to shut the application down in order to get out of the blank screen.
Anyone seen this issue before or know how to fix it? Is there a way to reinstall office or is a ROM reflash required?

No large attachments, just simple emails. I did not had the problem before installing WMXL v0.20. I also noticed in Yahoo Go email that when i open the email itself i am presented with a blank page with no content nor the ability to reply or forward.

I recently upgrated to WMXL v0.21 and having a problem pairing my HOLUX GPSlim to my ppc. The problem is that when I go to establish an outgoing port (designated Com 6 by the GPS unit), I get an error saying that the "COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again". Any ideas? I did a search on XDA and came up with nothing. Thanks in advance.

Try a different COM Port, I believe that COM6 is used by OS (but can't remember why). I have successfully paired a GPSlim on COM5

Yep it works perfectly, just have to make some preparations first
When you make your Holux device recognizable and that the TyTN detects it, go then to "Port"
Choose your Holux, create an outgoing port connection, voila :)
Afterwards (I think you might be using TTN 6) just take the newly created port.

When I'm in Germany, and so roaming, the device is unable to connect through Activesync to the computer. I need the administrator pass to enable the phone.
When I'm in France, so no roaming, the device connects perfectly. And I didn't use the administrator code again ;) (had to use it once to make the computer recognize the device)
Apparently, while roaming, the device seems to be recognized as another one from the computer, or a different model.
Has no one had this issue ?

Kyphur - Dude! Your ROM is amazing. I loaded a couple of days ago and loving it. :D
One small issue though, is it possible to move some of the pre-installed programs to a storage card? Even better, how do I uninstall the programs you've that came with the ROM so I can install it to memory card. I need all the internal ROM for my system applications. :o
IGNORE--I FOUND THE ANSWER from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294809
Q: If you embed a program into the Rom how can I remove it (to save memory).
A: You can't remove file that are in the Rom. You can remove the Shortcuts to the programs. Again I will repeat that programs in the Rom do not consume any memory. If you don't want the program simply ignore it and it will not harm you.

Fix for Voice Command 1.6 in WMXL.
Hi as per the following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296762
I packaged these clever peoples work into a simple installer
This works 100% for me.
Instructions:
Install Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 (Duh)
Copy this cab file to your device and tap to install.
Then go to Start > Programs > BT Voice Command Config
and tick enable.
Tap "Save"
Tap "Exit"
Go to bluetooth devices and remove your headset.
Power off your Device (Hold the power button till it asks to shut down)
Restart device.
Re pair your headset.
make sure button 5 is set to Voice Command (Settings > Buttons)
Reset Device.
ZaJules
Thanks for the fix, it works great with one minor thing that I hope somebody can fix. Is it possible for the caller ID to be announced through the BT headset as well?
Thanks,
Allen

Hi baudy2,
Weeks reading, 3 flashes and this is first post. Hope to give something back to the group...
I had a similar problem with battery life - was draining overnight from full charge to about 30% after about 7 hours with no calls and screen off. Read in one of the posts somewhere here, that if you've enabled the HtweakC21 'increase battery life' tweak, turning it off the reg tweak may fix it. I did this last night and I'm on 60% battery after using it for calls (5 or 6) and email synch all day. Seems to have done the trick for me.
Its under Tweaks->System->Increase Battery Life. Remove the tick (if its there), save the settings and then soft reset to take effect.
I've got WiFi off, Bluetooth on permanently, HSDPA enabled and email is set to synch "as items arrive".
I didnt have the 'warm battery' issue though. Hope this helps.

I just reflashed the ROM last night, all was well until I recieved a 13mb email today. I deleted the email but after that, the processing was SO SLOW from screen to screen and the call buttons would not work.
I have it set up to store attachments on the strorage card and had more than enough storage to handle it (19.82mb).
This is the same issue that made me think the ROM was unstable in the first place. But is it that the phone can not handle large emails (5mb and above)?
Or is there a ROM or [my] Phone issue?
Thanks for the teams help.

Hi
Can any of the testers of the new XDA version come with some hints about the new XDA?
- Will it be a rom like LVSW - but a bit different, or how does it look from your point of view... I really look forward to the new release - and i am just wondering if Master Kyph and the CREW is as far as LVSW conserning OS version and all... Forgive me if you wrote this in another thread, but I DARE NOT writing in the .3 beta test thread ;) - and I have been looking around.
Have seen something about the FARIA guy´s special version OS in a thread...
I know that lots are written in the .3 thread - and I have read it, but would be glad for some info that is more like a "users experience"
Give us some bits and pieces - pleazzz

i'm getting blank screen lockups still. This is with the XDA Rom and a couple of the utilities installed. I think this is a WM6 issue rather than third party software issue. When it happens the lights blink but if i call the phone it diverts to voicemail.

I've been using BBConnect for a few weeks and it has been working very well. As soon as I installed it, I was able to maintain both the Blackberry.net data connection and the standard WAP.CINGULAR connection at the same time. THe beauty of this was that they were both active at the same time, i.e. I could receive emails while surfing in IE.
MY PROBLEM is that now all of a sudden, one of the connections seems to stall when I use the other, i.e. if I'm using BBConnect, the IE Browser won't open new web sites even though my 8525 shows it as connected to the WAP.CINGULAR APN.
On the other hand, if I am surfing the internet through IE, BBConnect will seem to stall out even though the connection stays on.
In the end, if I'm using IE for browsing with the WAP.CINGULAR data connection, the Blackberry.net connection seems to block data and vice versa.
Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I'm not sure what changed to make the multiple simultaneous connections not work any more. I have thoroughly scoured every BBConnect thread at XDA-Dev, HoFo, Cingular Forums & Blackberry Forums and can't seem to find an answer. Anyone have any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
This is so much better then the standard one shipped with telstra, Australia.
I have a WiFi issue as some of teh others do. First thoughts after searching was WiFi was dead.
I followed this off the http://www.configure.telstra.com.au sitewhich i had to select jam as it didn't jasjam (im noob are these the same)
On the handset, tap on Start and then Settings.
Tap on the Connections tab.
Tap on the Connections icon.
Tap on the Advanced tab.
Tap on Select Networks.
Under the first drop down box, tap on New…
In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Telstra Internet
Tap on the Modem tab.
Tap on New…
In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Telstra Internet
Tap on the Select a modem drop-down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS).
Tap on Next.
In the Access point name: field, enter telstra.wap
Tap on Next.
In the User name: field, enter
In the Password: field, enter
Tap on Finish.
Tap on the Proxy Settings tab.
Select the This network connects to the Internet option.
Select the This network uses a proxy sever to connect to the Internet option.
Tap on Advanced…
Under WAP, in the Server field, enter 10.1.1.181
Tap on ok four times.
Tap on x to close the Settings screen.
The new WAP profile is now configured and ready for use.
But as above my wifi wouldn't work, but 3g... whatever would work.
I left it for a bit and came back to have a stab at it and when i turned off the option "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"
And wifi began working again, and the data link still works also.
I am very noob so this probly isn't the best support post :) but I was about to begin typying a desperate plea for wifi support when i fixed it by chnace.
Let me know if this post needs editing or deleteing.

Well.. If you read the guides and instructions you will see what to do...
This is the first time I see that kind of question. I mean. Its a .exe that you have to execute from a PC !!
Now. READ the guides and the threads about how to flash. The GUIDE really take you all the way.

I'm pretty new to all this stuff, but I've been following this forum for some time now.
I have flashed my Cingular 8525 device a bunch of times and I still can't figure out why I can't connect to the internet via Internet Explorer, after the flash.
I have reflashed it with the factory flash and I have internet, but right after I flash it to WM6 I can't connect.
Thanks to who ever is smart enough to figure it out.
Everytime I open IE and try to browse it says "Cannot Connect". I have a friend that has the same phone and has the same ROM image and he can connect just fine. It doesn't matter if I'm in 3G or not.
My settings are:
ROM version: 3.22.110.1
ROM date: 01/04/07
Radio version: 1.34.00.10
Protocol version: 32.67.7020.10H
Oh yeah, thanks for all the hard work that was put into this build. It really is awesome.
HunteR RosE,
Just to make sure, you have all the correct ISP/WAP settings set up in Connections for Cingular right? If not, the attached .cab is for WAP.cingular (ISP doesn't work for me due to having DataUnlimited + BB Connect) and if you'd like, just change the server address to isp.cingular
I've not had a problem with either of the two 8525's that I"ve had (my newest came last nite) and both were flashed the day I got them. If you need further help, feel free to PM me and I'll guide you through a more detailed upgrade process.

When you set this up how did you tell it to allow both connections simultaneously.
I didn't, it just worked. When I open the "Connectivity" bubble by clicking on my 3G symbol on the top of the today screen, it will show two active connections if I've been using both BBConnect and IE. Unfortunately, one of the two connections will not function until I intervene.
For example, I use BBConnect pretty much all day. If I only have that connection open and then I open IE to surf the web, it will establish the new wap.cingular connection, but I cannot get any data to move through this newly established connection. So, if I have only the Blackberry.net connection up and I want to surf the internet, I will manually disconnect the blackberry.net connection first and then open IE to establish a new wap.cingular connection. In this order, the new wap.cingular connection now works. Unfortunately, if I let it, BBConnect will establish a new blackberry.net connection about 30 seconds later and this will freeze the wap.cingular connection. However, under the "Connectivity" bubble on the today screen, it will still show both connections as active.
Thanks for your reply.

Okay, I was just gonna wait until .3 to be released to see if the issue resolves itself, but since we don't know when that's gonna be I'll ask now.
The issue I am having is I cannot view google maps. I can view them in WIN5 with the same data settins. I've tried a fresh install with WiFi only and still no luck.
When I try to load a map the page shows as finished, but instead of the picture, it just says "Loading..."
Is there something else that I need to install?

Hi all
I have been using XDA Live 0.2 ROM for a few months now and absolutely love it!
Last week though, I slept through the alarm and didnt get a chance to 'Dismiss' the alarm reminder.
When I next soft-reset the device, the alarm starts again, but there is no option to Dismiss the alarm, so it just keep repeating and repeating!
I have had to disable the alarm on the device. I need this alarm feature though!
I did a hard-reset and all was fine again, but I missed the alarm again this week and now its doing it again.
I dont want to try any other WM6 roms!!!
Ideas?

Hi,
I had the same problem too, and as best I can tell it happened after I set up my MMS settings. I did not use MMS for about a week after first flashing XDA Live 0.2 and then when I did, the next day my alarms stopped giving me the Dismiss option, resulting in what you already described.
I found that I could delete all the alarm notification using the Task Manager's Notifications view, but that only solved the problem for the current alarms. Any further alarm would result in the same unwanted behavior.
So, I hard reset and lost all my customizations, which fixed the alarm problem and alarms worked well until I set up MMS again.
I liked Kayphurs XDA Live 0.20 very much as it did everything very well, except those damn alarms :)
I have flashed the Black 3.0 ROM when it was released two weeks ago and I can say that the alarms are working very well, however there are some problems.
Currently thinking about flashing Custel's 2.5 rom as it has good reviews and not many problems, compared with some other roms.
I won't suggest that you should reflash your device with another WM6 rom now, as I know you don't want to do it.
All the best.

Thanks Taskmaster!
I have now removed the notifications (clock.exe) with the Task Manager. I can now stop pulling my hair out.
I have never managed to get MMS working but I did try actually. Im on T-Mobile UK and have tried all number of settings to get MMS to work but it never has. Anyone got a guide?
Sorry if thats off-topic!

so is there any news on WMXL 3.0 or what happening with the searching for Kyphur?
Is he still on the missing list? I feel that the 2.0 is very good and with more developments from other roms 3.0 can be the best!
Will love to hear what going on....
