Worms World Party on P3600

Hi,

For those of you who have spent their hard earnt cash on possibly the best game out there for the Pocket PC platform (Worms World Party) only to find that you cant assign buttons for Fire, Jump and Backflip, I came across a fix I found at 4pda.ru (http://4pda.ru/4218/). Here I give details (in english) on how to make this work with the P3600.

I have Worms World Party version 1.04. You'll need to edit the file WWPSave.dat (with a Hex Editor) in your WWP installation folder. The bytes at locations: 10B, 10C and 10D correspond to the keycodes for Fire, Jump and Backflip respectively. I believe the default values are each in the range of C1-CF.

I noticed not all buttons can be assigned, in particular the start, ok and center-D buttons on the P3600 (perhaps I have the wrong key-codes). If someone could confirm the following keycodes are correct, it would help a lot:

Windows Button = 0x5b
Left Menu Button (above green call button) = 0x70
Right Menu Button (above red call button) = 0x71
Green Call Button = 0x72
Red Call Button = 0x73
center-D Button = 0x0d
OK buttons (both) = 0x75
Camera Button = 0xc4
Voice Recorder Button (next to power button) = 0xc1

Anyway, I have attached a modified WWPSave.dat file which should work with the P3600. The keys are as follows:

Fire = Left Menu Button
Jump = Voice Recorder Button
BackFlip = Camera Button

Hope this helps someone out there :)

PS: I'm not trying in anyway to claim this fix is my own work. Its pretty difficult to find (via search engine) if you dont know what you're looking for, so I thought more publicity is needed.

Tanks a lot, jamesbest77! On my Hermes only the "Backflip" button didn't work and there was no way to assign any of the available buttons. But with your list of keycodes I could manually assign it to the red phone button and now everything works perfectly!

In the first post there's a link to the author who discovered the fix. In that post, if you scan through the Russian text, there's a link to a file called "img-4430-keycode.rar". Download it and extract and copy it to your phone. Run the program then press the camera button - this should give you the button's keycode.

Then follow the instructions as I've described....

i modified the .DAT File....

now Worms World Party 1.0.4 is playable on HTC Touch.
The Back flip jump is deactivated, cause there are not enough Keys....
Your Fire Key is set on Camera Key!

Kan iemand mij helpen met een dat.file voor Worms World Party die ik kan spelen met m'n slider uit, {HTC Touch Pro/HTC Raphael 100} zodat ik de pijltjes toetsen kan gebruiken en bijvoorbeeld Fire = Enter , Jump = Spatie , en Backflip = B

Anders, kan iemand mij vertellen hoe ik dit uit kan zoeken?
Ik heb het programma HDD HEX Neo om het .dat file te ontcijferen.
Ik zie daar dat onder 0x000010a t/m 10d moet worden verandert om de knoppen Fire, Jump en Backflip te veranderen.

Bij de HTC Touch Diamond .dat file (thanks to xTMODx) zijn deze gewijzigt in 86, 75, 76, 01
Maar hoe weet ik welk nummer de slider-keys Enter, Spatie en B is?

Ook heb ik het scherm omgedraaid om het beeld de richting te geven naar de slider toe (oftwel linkshandig).
De front center knop is Fire
Op de slider:
TAB = Jump
Up = link
Down = rechts
Left = omhoog
Right = omlaag

hi guyz this is my first post here n i hope its a helpfull one
here is the wwpsave.dat file to make it work on htc cruise and might work on all htc touch (post ur feedback here)

first in the hex editor the places are 10A(fire), 10B(jump), 10C(backflip)
i used pocketGBA to get the buttons

fire: D-Pad Center 0x86
jump: left menu button 0xC1
backflip: right menu button 0xC2

I have a samsung i760 and can't seem to get the buttons to work. I've tried editing the dat file myself with the buttons i found using pocketSNES and also using some of the dat files posoted here, but no luck. Any suggestions?

NVM, the only buttons that would work were the volume up and down buttons and the center OK button. works now! :)

EDIT: Ignore me, I found it! D'OH!

EDIT2: xTMODx's file works very nicely on the HTC Touch Pro also, saves using the slide-out keyboard.

Firstly, I finally have WWP installed and working in beautiful full VGA screen on my Fuze. Hooray! :D

Question 1: From what I can see in the game it appears we can't modify worm team options as in the PC game? Like their accent, flags, etc. Or even create new worms and teams?

And Question 2: While I can load and see the game, my worms can't do much besides walk around and aim. No idea what the actual jump/backflip/fire keys are but they won't work on the Fuze. So I looked to install this very helpful aforementioned dat file and found something unusual - there is no .dat file already present in my Worms install folder to replace....So I said "Huh" and just put it there anyways. When I next started the game, nothing had changed - no remapped keys. What gives?

If it helps, the game installed in the main directory, not program files or anything. Just \WWP. Also, I'm using the stock ROM...

I tried both, your's and xTMODx's savefile, but none of them worked on my Touch Diamond :( Do these files only work on version 1.04? Because I'm using 1.03? :confused:
I can start the game (and play - except from jump/fire) with the original savefile but with the modded ones the game always crashes when coming up to the menu-screen ...

Hope someone can help me with that - Worms rule :D
