I personally dislike voice command, so I looked for a way to bring back voice speed dial in crossbow. It took me a few hours to find the cure so I thought I'd share.
First you need to reinstall voice speed dial itself (cab attached).
That was the easy part to find, but to make it work with the button on your bluetooth headset you also need to do the following changes in the registry:
From HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\VoiceCmd.exe" (string)
To HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path = "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" (string)
and
From HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "\Windows\btagext.dll" (string)
To HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll" (string)
That did it for me, voice command is in the rom so you will just have to leave it there (at least in the MB crossbow).

Thanks!!
It works great on my WM6! I really appreciate you sharing it.
Just one issue: I cant hear that beep in my BT headset after which you are supposed to speak. Any workaround for that?

Any mod can make this thread sticky ??? Many people (including myself) hate voice command. So, this thread is really usefull if someone prefers Voice Tags instead.
Excellent contribution.

mUn'r ROM comes with CVSD v.1.2 included, everybody should try it.
Voice Commander is Microsoft commercial product, available in few languages (American, English, French, German...) and not very usable for users in other languages. It's not part of Windows Mobile 6, and as I don't use it, I made myself a ROM without it ;)

I think it's great you created this message with a manual howto make Voice Speed Dail work, but I cannot beleive all the reactions with "I was looking for this".
The answer is on this board allready so you weren't LOOKING and most certainly didn't use search

Thanks ! I was also looking for this and found it off google. However, I have a problem.
When I use the bluetooth button to use voice tags, I get an error saying "There are no trained voicetags".
Even if I launch the app seperately , "start -> voice speed dial" I get the same error.
This is on a T-Mobile Dash (excalibur) with the leaked official wm6 rom.
I can't even add a voice tag! Once I get into contacts and pick a contact, under the "menu" menu I don't see any voicetag menu item. There is a speed dial menu items but selecting it doesn't show any voicetag specific options.
Please help ! Voice Command sucks SO bad that I wouldn't use it if someone offered me lunch/dinner money! Voice command cannot recognize most people on my contact list. I agree its a pain to train tags, but better to have few contacts working 100% than all contact working 0%.

Me and Sid can't be the only people who can't figure out how to add the voicetags now...
The option isn't in contacts, and not when you run the app separately, so what are we missing? Where do you train the voicetags?

I wanted to ask this question here before I start a brand new thread. (I tried searching but it never works.)
I have a wizard with WM5. I installed Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 but I only want it so it will announce my incoming calls and my messages. I don't want to use the voice dial feature of VC, I'd rather use the default Voicedialer (sddialer.exe). How can I make my bluetooth headset activate Voicedialer and not Microsoft VC, like it used to before I installed Microsoft Voice Command.
Thanks for your help.

in the "windows" folder, you'll find a file called "cvdsettings". Copy this file and use "paste shortcut" to place it in your programs. This way you can change your voice tags.

I got the program back and added all of my voice tags, but they disappeared along with my speed dials. Anyone seen this and know a solution?
Thanks.

Don't have cvdsettings anywhere on the phone. Is it on the beta wm6 or the official. I am running the official. I also did a wild card search for *settings*.* and didn't find anything that looked close... is it a program that can be added?

I'm an outside sales rep, so I'm constantly on my phone, sometimes while driving. I just purchased an 8125, and it came with WM6. I really like the idea of voice tags, which apparently isn't part of the WM6 platform.
You folks are really talking over my head, some more basic, step by steps to install that cab file sited at the beginning of this thread would would be sincerely appreciated.

Hey, a little more poking around and I figured it out. Seems to work like a bloody charm!
Now, how do I stop Activesync from doing it's thing uncontrollably? (I'm sure it's here somewhere...)

Its interesting, after installing this package, pressing button on BT headset opens up the phone dialpad, but after uinstall and reinstall the "original" Voice_TRI.cab without any registry modifications BT button opens up the voice dial program...

Hi,
I'm trying to make work the voice speed dial, so that it starts when pushing the button on my BT handset, but it doesn't. It always start the dial pad instead starting the voice speed dial...and i just run out of any ideas what could i do...
I have installed a popular XDA Mobile 6 r2a ROM, tried to install even the new one XM6r3 ROM...always the same. Is there a problem with the ROM installed?
Please, if somebody has any idea...

This is strange...
if I do reverse order by changing
from
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "OEMAGW.dll"
to
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = "btagext.dll"
I get BT button working properly...
[EDIT]
I just realized this topic is in "Wizard" forum....I'm using "Hermes" my bad.

I'm also having the problem where I can create voice tags for programs, but not for contact numbers.
There's no option for adding a voice tag in contacts or anywhere. I'm using Rogers WM6 ROM on an HTC S621.
Has anyone figured out how to fix this?
Thank you,

Answer to question:
The settings icon in the control panel is activated through a cab contained in the factory extended ROM of most devices. You may add voice tags and such only after using the cabs. You can try these and see if they work for you.

Hello,
I has been looking for this like crazy. VC doesn't work for me.
However, I haven't been able to make voice dialerr work after following the steps described at the beginning of this thread.
I press the dial button in my Jabra 250v, hear the headset connecting, and voice dialer never starts up.
I assigned voice dialler to the ptt button and it works great that way.
Any idea what could be wrong?

José

I have an ATT Tilt (8925). Thanks a lot! Your help was invaluable! I recently upgraded to WM 6.1 and it didn't have the Voice Command program. So I was able to install it. The only problem is I'm still unable to link my bluetooth button to the program. The crazy thing is that all of registry changes that you told me to make, were already made within my Tilt's registry. Any suggestions?

I followed the instructions given by jpmche and installed the CAB file. The voice dialer worked well but my camera function cannot initialize and does not work.
Is there anything I could do to remedy this problem??
I am using a dopod838 pro with the following:
WM6 CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1)
Processor SC32442-400MHz
Hope to get a response soon as I use my camera quite a lot!
Thanks

I foolishly installed MS Voice Command and then decided it was shyte and I wanted my old voice dialling system back (Cyberon) but it wasn't that easy
as some of you will no doubt know.
So such luck as just uninstalling Voice command! It chewed my registry
and the Cyberon software.
I have been trying frantically for hours this evening to redo registey entries
etc..
Was about to give up and hard reset and face reinstalling everything and I found a link to this site from another forum.. and there it was...
CVSD_for_WM6_v1.2_build_61226_1.cab
...once installed and rebooted it even found and reinstated all my old voice commands!! :)
:) .. a very happy man! Hats off to the guys who know what they're doing!!!
Thank you
