problem wifi with usb wifi

hello,

i bought a netgear usb wifi wg111 v2 wifi adapter,and i am unable to connect my wizard to the usb wifi. What exact settings am i suppose to do.

i have already :

1) assigned ip to usb wifi 192.168.1.55
2) assigned ip to wizard 192.168.1.200

i cannot ping ti 192.168.1.200 (time out),i could ping 192.168.1.55

security is open , shared. i dont know if these means security is disabled,but if someone can please tell me the right configuration it will be much appriciated.

wizards have a problem with either wpa or wep security, but i forget which, try disabling each
