so far it seems this rom has less complaints than the new Faria rom. Anyone else have experience with both?

I liked this one more than Faria's. Both have some bugs, but this one have more free memory, and its CLEAN, as every ROM should be. I prefer Voice dialer too.

but they don't exist in \Windows actually.

If you want to reflash your phone with this version, I would first reflash your phone with the latest rom from your manufacturer, then flash with this rom.

I wouldn't suggest that. If you have G4, doing that I belive it would relock your cid...or so I've heard. I think you should only use other RUU and insert the nk.nbf from this one into the other. Extract it from mUn's rom with winrar.

You can use the shell tool to update the rom on your phone without CID unlocking. Look in the G4 forum. Works on the G3's as well.

Hi,

If anyone has flashed their CID unlocked G4 devices with "Faria WM 6" Rom and now interested in "mUn_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE" ROM just do the following, Workeed for my G4- CID unlocked 8125

1) First Extract all files in the packaged "mUn_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE.exe" file in one folder.
2) Download the new "newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe" Utility, you will find it inside "Ext Rom Maker Kit.rar", made by Faria (Gr88 man :D )

3) Copy this "newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe" ONLY file in the extracted folder of "mUn_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE" ( Do not copy remaining files)

4) Dont delete the existing RUU update file, and start flashing using this new "newromupdateutility_wizard_noid.exe" Normally.

Worked for me

Personally, I like mUn_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE ROM, as its newer core, and plain, like newly installed fresh OS. Feels more original, stable and not to forget Fast (Yes it is :-) )

Few things,
1) Landscape mode cleartype not activated by default.
2) I installed Fixed rom, still i required to run regfix.cab - After running Regfix, your Time, region changes (atleast mine changed)
3) Everytime syncing device with PC first shows some sign of new hardware for 2 sec and the gets connected (Dont know if its normal)

Till now, no applications i have tried

Not to be an ingrate, but while this is my favorite WM6 ROM I've tried so far, I'm wondering if there's a way to turn OFF the "cool keyboard."

Maybe I'm just used to plain white after 6 years with PPCs, but the color scheme is hard on my old eyes!

Try to change core version by yourself.
You could dump xip section from my rom and from hermes rom and compare it.
M$ XIP Kernel section will be the same, coz i transfered it to wizard.
Rom date was modified manually by me in hex, but core version is real.

First off: This is by far the best ROM I have used.

This is just some FYI for those with CID Locked G4's that I would have liked to have collected in one post.

I had already installed another WM6 ROM, so to avoid locking up my device at the boot screen I had to flash the Wizard Love ROM and THEN install mUn's ROM using his fixed shell tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1131176&postcount=1) since my device is CID locked.

Once up and running, I:
1. Ran the Regfix.cab located in the windows folder.
2. Did the comma fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1170371&postcount=241).
3. Moved my ringtones to the "My Ringtones" folder.
4. Did the Comm. Manager fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296001) (Set to eight buttons).
5. Ran the mUnRingLevelFix.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1171325&postcount=269) and mobione's fix_ring.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1171420&postcount=278). But neither fixed the problem (seems to have something to do with voice commander.)
6. Changed the date on the Today-screen to one line (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1169286&postcount=193).
7. Ran the Cingular internet settings cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1169331&postcount=199).

I am running the 2.19.11 UK Radio ROM in California without problems and the battery is good. So far the only problems I have are the low ring level and the fact that missed calls are not sorted by time (I have to scroll to the bottom of the list to se the most recent one.) Any ideas on these issues?

Thanks for this awesome ROM and for all the work put into making it even better.

Replaced step 5 with mUn's fix found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1171540&postcount=290

Again, because it's in ROM, you can't rename it either. At least I can't with File Explorer, Total Commander, or from my desktop when connected with Activesync.

The only way I can think to get rid of it is to "replace" it. (When you move a file in RAM in the same directory as a file in ROM, the RAM file takes precedence. (This is how they used to patch PPC devices back in the days before PPC ROMs were flashable- you just "copied over" the old ROM file with a RAM one, but obviously any patches made that way had to reapplied after a hard reset.)

So I just copied a blank four-byte text file with the same name to "cover up" the ROM file and that got the B&W keyboard back. I assume that when WM6 tried loading the replacement and the file was invalid, it loaded the default keyboard instead.

Thanks again- so far it's a great ROM!

Just a curious question if you get the time to answer- what reg fixes are in the fix cab? I didn't load it because of the phone ringer attenuation and made my usual reg tweaks myself manually. I was just wondering what I'm missing?

Thanks again!

After doing some performance tweaks (cache). Installing my apps (batterystatus, todayagenda and ilauncher on today screen) and disabling voicecommand and init_tray from startup I have 31 mb of free ram after a soft-reset. Never saw that before! And it's still fast!

Then if you dig really deep (ie.... regfix.cab) you will see that the file was written by someone else. Someone who has done alot of work to make his roms unbeatable. WOW.... that's really a reason for me to give up on this rom !

So you've found that the cab that runs some registry tweaks after flashing the rom is original from Faria. Well, I guess mun_rus didn't write the midlet manager himself too. I think the other rom cooks took Faria's camera patch and inserted it into their roms.

I'm sure transporting a rom takes lots of time. I'm just very glad mun_run is willing to contribute and share his work with the community. If he didn't release the shelltool alot of G4 CID-locked user still weren't able to flash custom roms.

I hope he doesn't lose his motivation because of people like you!

Well, people like me write roms too, and when i do actually release, i give full credit, all the way down to the wiki page for xda-developers.net. Thats the only part that made me upset. If he believed in this community he would give credit to those who helped. Or at least not be so lazy at the end of a very good looking release to add the reg keys in before release.

The registry tweaks, the accumulate fixed, etc... are publicly known. Nobody holds a copyright to those things otherwise this community won't exist. We've found how to add more button or change the color for the Commanager. How to add WPA2 by changing a simple dll file due to the works of many others here.

I might be bold to say that the Faria's cooked ROM also gain from the knowledge that have been shared by many here. mun_rus was not wrong when he stated "Ive been working on it for 2 month. All was done by myself. Have a look." because he did cook it. Going by your standard nobody will be able to cook any ROM because everything known are the works of the other and you won't be allow to do any modification. If Faria, Molski, Kyphur and mun_rus have to sit down and write every email to everyone whoever offered a tweak/fix in this forum to ask for permission to use it in the new ROM, nobody will have time to cook any ROM.

Ahh, but see you are missing what I said. The cab itself was made by faria. I understand that the reg keys are found by everyone, not arguing that. What I am stating is that the regfix.cab entries should have been put into the rom before release or give credit to faria for writing the cab. Nothing more, nothing less.

T-Mobile 2.26 can be flashed in a CID-locked G3. If OS won't flash you're still CID-Locked even if lokiwiz tool says it unlocked successful. If you got a G3 follow the sticky in Wizard upgrading etc. and you will succeed.

With my G4 CID-locked i've done the following:
1st - Install qtek stock rom
2nd - Extract mun_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE using shell tool
3rd - Flash it using shell tool

When i try to run shell tool from an WM6 ROM it just stuck in boot loader in first boot :|

With my G4 CID-locked i've done the following:
1st - Install qtek stock rom
2nd - Install Cert_SPCS.CAB
3rd - Install EnableRapi.CAB
4th - Soft Reset
5nd - Extract mun_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE using shell tool
6th - Flash it using shell tool
7th Hard Reset

When i try to run shell tool from an WM6 ROM it just stuck in boot loader in first boot :|

After you installed qtek stock rom, did you install Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab, then reboot after you install those then use shelltool.

If you forgot to do those cabs shelltool will exit early on writing roms. I edited your list above to include the steps. Good luck.

Thanks vippie, I followed the guide, retrying the WM6, thanks!

Edit:

Works fine, noticed the IPL/SPL was still the 1.05, so I used the T-Mobile flash to upgrade it so it would have the latest IPL/SPL now am upgrading back to WM6! Thanks! WM6 looks sweet :D

1) Don't know how but all ringtones were named like that Ring-Standard .wma
They has a space befor extencion..that's why they coudn't be seen in Ringtone selection(
Just Copy new ringtone or rename these, if you like it
[/url]

This is the standard naming convention by Microsoft.

I wish we had this ROM with all "fixes" in one place ... something like archive (zip/rar) with README ... and had link to this "archive" in 1st post of this thread.

Ahh, but see you are missing what I said. The cab itself was made by faria. I understand that the reg keys are found by everyone, not arguing that. What I am stating is that the regfix.cab entries should have been put into the rom before release or give credit to faria for writing the cab. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes i used faria's cab for base cab for reg tweaks coz he made a perfect cab. And he know about it. Are you want to say that all other work is faria's work?? You deeply wrong in that way.

Again, you missed it. All im saying is, perhaps you give him credit for making the cab. Again, thats the whole point. Not about the work done with the ROM. Just that one cab file. Plus if it was so perfect for your ROM why are there issues with your rom, that after i did the research, were all caused by this cab. If you want the OS to work correctly, either go in and modify the settings yourself or dont use the cab. Im not saying here that Faria screwed up this cab, Im just saying, its not meant for this rom.

I suggest not install RegFix.cab after flash and hardreset, I've found several reg keys in it are missleading, including the Ring problem.
Here is the reg keys dump, bugs are marked in red:

Dear huangyz,
Can you provide us a cab file with corrections of fix.cab?

I am afraid its a hard work for me, because:
1, really i can't figure out the purpose of all those keys dump from regfix.cab
2, i don't know whether there're some reg fix really needed by this new ROM, eg. the camera driver, or bluetooth...

Hi! I trully like this rom! Thank you for sharing! Just a small question. If I ran the reg fix cab, I can not receive cell ID messages from my provider! I don't know if many (any) of you use this feature, but does anyone know the registry key that affect this setting?

I do agree with you,i think it's because none of the other ROMS are native to HTC Wizard and they are ported.
I still have freezing problem with my device ..it makes me crazy..i'm not surem it might be because of Spb mobile shell

- in the sms inbox the left softkey is "delete"!! i want "new sms" there
- gprs smybol is always on.. iam normally never conectet with gprs, so that shoudnt appear

This has been the same in all WM6 roms. Its not related to the cab or this specific rom!

this may due to the CEI program(Customer Experience Improvement) of MS. Where in WM6, it's native that there're 2 notification built in the mxip_notify.vol that brings up ceipui.exe when there's an Internet connection and some other condition. This will "freeze" the device for some time. It's boring. So there's a thread talking about this in the Windows Mobile 6 forum of Wizard, go check it for more information.

I myself "removed" this CEI & SQM things by some "brutal" means and my Wizard goes smoothly with GPRS or Wifi.

Ok, one little question, How do i re-enable the missing screens on initial setup? It kills me to have to go through all the screens to correct time and date. Anyone know how to get it to do the time, timezone, and the email? Basically the initial setup for every other WM6?

All so far so good for me!!!

I tried the new Faria WM6 after using Faria's AKU 3.3 ROM for the last few months. The AKU 3.3 was perfect; but the new Faria WM6 seemed very very slow (even clocked to 247Mhz) and buggy - even with Regtweak GPRS on the push email didn't work and the device seemed to hang, switch on/off etc. I tried flashing back and re-flashing and no improvement.

I'm now on the mUn 10.2.0.8 and it seems very fast, so far! Everything I've tried works as expected, as well as Faria's AKU 3.3 ROM!

Thanks very much!!!

I'm on Radio ROM 2.19 from the last T-Mobile UK ROM, and I guess my unit is a G3 Wizard (almost 18 months old now)

explain these brutal means :)

I try remember what I've done:p :
1,download Molski's rom cook kitchen:)
2,dump rom
3,creat rgu of default.hv and user.hv
4,use notepad to search all about "sqm" keys, cut and move them to another .txt file for later recovery (if sth is wrong)
5,search dump directory and remove all about "sqm", dlls, exes, etc., including ceipui.exe, custsat.dll(module),...
6,copy a memory release utilities exe file (sth like MemRelease.exe) into dump folder and rename it to ceipui.exe (just want to cheat the system)
7,rebuild rom, flash into device, now you have a new ROM without CEI/SQM :)

in fact, the most easy way is to delete those two notifies by using Memmaid or Taskmgr, just leave those dll and programes sleeping in the rom.

Let me know if you guys have problems. This file incorporates all the reg keys that faria's cab puts in minus the ones for applications that arent installed. Also i removed key that caused ringtone issues. I removed the 2 startup applications that do not exist in the windows directory and Also included the single line date. Also removed links to Voice Command and Voice Speed Dial from the Programs Menu (I saw them as pointless). This ROM runs quite fast, just a warning. All the ROM building was done by mUn.

Good ROM overall, but I've rolled back to WM5 for now. Every WM6 has had a few issues that I'm just frankly tired of battling. The mUn ROM has Wi-Fi and GPRS issues on my device- occasionally Wi-Fi will refuse to start- you click it in Conn Manager and the "wait" wheel spins and Wi-Fi stays off. Repeated pushes do the same until you reboot. Occasionally GPRS refuses to connect until you reboot, etc.

All the other WM6 bugs (random power ups, no "turn off wi-fi" from the connection icon, auto time/time-zone doesn't work, Mapopolis nav software memory leak eventually stalls device, etc.) are still in the new mUn ROM (I'd hoped that since it was based on the ROM from a different device than prior ROMs that maybe we'd see fewer bugs.

Sure all of these bugs are relatively minor individually, but frankly, the benefits of using WM6 over WM5 are also minor! I'll take stable over pretty. I'll miss HTML e-mail in Outlook Mobile, but I get that in the free QMail app (without having to double tap "Internet Pictures Blocked/Download Images" on each and every e-mail like I needed to in Outlook!)

After a day back on Xelencin's 2.26 T-Mo USA ROM, I find there's little I miss about WM6 except the higher free memory at startup (so I have to reboot less often after errent apps leak memory). But Xelencin's is essentially the stock T-Mo ROM, so it's very stable- just as stable as a stock T-Mo MDA- he just took out most of the unnecessary T-Mo customizations from the extended ROM for a cleaner ROM without the ridiculous-looking pink T-Mo dialer.

WM6 was fun but after trying a half-dozen ROMs over a half-dozen weeks, I decided that my device just plain works better with the WM5 OS that God (and HTC) intended it to have. This is not in any way an insult to the ROM chefs out there- their work has been outstanding. If you think about it- all of the "unofficial" WM6 ROMs are probably more stable than the official WM5 upgrades that Dell and HP inflicted upon owners of Axim X50s or HP 4xxx PPCs that ran WM2003 originally, and those ROMs were made by teams of programmers with access to what makes those devices tick, whereas these WM6 ROMs were essentially reverse-engineered "blind" by hobbyists and still manage to work 99%. Bravo!

And who knows what bugs in WM6 are simply inherent in these pre-release ROMs to begin with, and aren't the result of adapting the ROM to a different device- look how crappy the "real" WM5 1.x ROMs were compared to AKU 2.2 or 3.3. Perhaps when official RTM versions of WM6 are released for the few lucky HTC phones that get them, the cookers can take those ROMs and adapt them for devices like the Wizard with far more stability.

I look forward to their future developments!

Fantastic ROM. Very fast, plenty of RAM, all the correct fixes and some nice tweaks that still stay within the lines of a 'clean' ROM. Very well done, thanks.

Seems a lot faster than Orwells for decoding video and is very responsive. Just for future perhaps you could disable the A2DP "JointStereo" registry entry that's there by default.

I don't know if you noticed it but your Activesync and IR labels on your Comm Manager is reverse.

And if you update your version of mUn's rom again, you add the icon to rotate the screen. Maybe you can add it to the extended rom. Here is the cab for it:

Btw, anyone installed radio rom 2.19 with this ROM? If so, how?

I'm now running the mUn rom to try it out and I just put the 2.19 Radio ROM on it. Been that way since last night and so far so good (but have only made a couple of calls). Just grab the 2.19 UK Tmobile radio from the ftp site here and flash it. Its a radio only rom so doesn't touch anything else.

I also made a Splash Screen RUU for this ROM (since it apparently didn't come with any, and I hated seeing T-Mobile splash on my Cingular phone ;). First splash is the HTC logo, second the black screen with the world with the windows logo over it (same screens as the Faria WM6 basically). Its splash screens only so should install on G3 and G4 and doesn't touch anything else in the rom. You can change the .zip to .exe and then execute it, or unzip it to a directory and run the RUU program.

I've been on crossbow , and I thought that was great ! I came to terms with the fact some software didn't work , and word couldnt start a new document. BUT THIS ALL CHANGED WITH THIS ROM ! ! !
Almost all WM5 software work , Word works fine , and seems very stable .

Only problem is that I can't get photocontacts pro to start on boot !

Thanks mUn

Hii,
Most of your entries in reg file are personal i guess, its showing your IMEI and ROM version etc.
The only thing which did the trick is

""ImmediateCBMSupport"=dword:00000001"
Location is -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL -->ImmediateCBMSupport"=dword:00000001

Doing this in mUn Rom, started my Cell Broadcast Messages (CBM for short)

Just wondering if someone could give instructions on how to activate extended rom.

first make sure you have autorun.exe in \windows or \extended_rom,
then write the below reg keys:
HKLM\COMM
autorun=\windows\autorun.exe or \extended_rom
autoruncfg=\extended_rom\config.txt
autorunflag=dword:0

then copy checkautorun.lnk to startup folder
then softreset

if there's extrom, it will run.

I tried this but it doesn't seem to work. I'm using the extended rom from Faria's WM6 release as a base but it doesn't seem to work with mUm's WM6. The same extended rom, however, works with Faria's WM6. Is it because mUm's WM6 require a different extended rom base for it to work correctly?

I have been using this rom for about a day now. It *is* very fast and seems relatively stable,

although I have had some freezes.

Here are some problems I've seen thus far:

1) No daylight savings time so it is stuck on standard time (PST). The posted Microsoft updates

for DST don't appear to work on this WM6.

2) It had a lot of trouble recognizing the t-mobile network at first. It booted up showing

Cingular, and working, although it had to be talking to t-mobile. It also froze several time

when trying to find a network (at first). Now that it is set for a network (the same) this part

works fine.

3) Some remote desktop options send it into neverland. So does playing with the phone network

selection. JUst have to reboot until it works, set network selection to manual and leave this

alone.

4) I've had it freeze on some net accesses, but don't have enough experience to identify

necessary and/or sufficient conditions to trigger this. Also some freezing when trying some

operations in pocket mechanic and, perhaps, sktools.

Main show stopper for use at the moment is daylight savings time. A fix would be greatly

appreciated.

Also, the rapidshare link page doesn't seem to be working now (tried to check it to see if any

updates.

Regards & thanks for the nice rom. dan

Ok, I know im good and all, but I have checked everywhere and cant seem to see a problem with the DST issue you are having. Ill look further into it. Until then, i am going to be posting a new fixed rom with the extended rom enabled and a blank ext rom for anyone who wants to use it. as it sits, still trying to figure out how they broke it. It appears that the config and autorun files are located in the windows directory. Still, ive looked everywhere and dont see how to put it back in and have it read.

Gee! Thanks for the swift reply. If you can fix this I'd dearly like a link--- the rapidshare page seems to have been deep-sixed and I don't know how to communicate w/o posting an email address. Perhaps you have some ideas on this.

Re dst, I'm on pacific time and have my Wizard mda set to GMT-8 Pacific US with Settings->Clock & Alarms->.

The MDA shows 21:03 and the real time (DST) is 22:03. I tried resetting the time forward 1 hr., but the MDA gets an update from the network (t-mobile). I can use the guest entry and set that to Alaska time (GMT-9), but that will mess things up b/c entries in outlook etc are relative to absolute time and (I assume) the PST time displayed will correct itself when we hit the old DST date (April 1, I think).

I'm pretty literate on these things and have been reading on cooking roms etc., but I don't have the time it would take to try and iteratively debug. My present capability is lightweight hacking of these things, even that is a seductive time-sink, since this is not my day job! ;-)).

Many thanks.

1) No daylight savings time so it is stuck on standard time (PST). The posted Microsoft updates for DST don't appear to work on this WM6.
WM6 already has the DST stuff setup. Makes no sense you are having this (I'm not doubting you, just saying that doesn't make sense when its built in). I'm running mUn ROM and it immediately was running on MDT (although with the auto timezone thing set, my TZ switches to -6 instead of -7, but I've seen it speculated elsewhere that it is a combination of the carriers towers not having the right info and how the DST fix was implemented.

For your issue, try switching your timezone to another timezone (like Mountain, or Central) then click ok to exit out and save this (also change your Visiting timezone to be the same). Now go back and switch home and visiting back to Pacific and see if the DST fix happens. I know when you patched WM5, you had to switch your timezone to be able for it to take, so maybe that will get it to wake up for you. Also verify your date is correct ;)

4) I've had it freeze on some net accesses, but don't have enough experience to identify necessary and/or sufficient conditions to trigger this. Also some freezing when trying some operations in pocket mechanic and, perhaps, sktools.
I've setup Gmail's java app in the midlet manager and I had a major slowdown and finally the phone just seemed to freeze / not respond and had to soft reset. Only happened once so far, but I'll be watching this (I was connected to WiFi too).

If you build another fixed version how about putting splash screens in with it? I created a RUU Splash screen for this ROM (HTC page and the black windows over the earth page) that I posted in this thread earlier. I can give you the files if you want them.

Ok, I tried that and also jogged the zones around pus did a soft reset. Stubborn wizard shows GMT-5 now as 0:28 and pacific as 21:28. It just won't budge.

Only thing I can think of is maybe it wants to show absolute local time instead of DST.

My wife has the same MDA here with WM5 and the DST fix and her unit is showing 10:28.

When I loaded the MS DST "fix" the thing worked right away without having to toggle as you mentioned.

I realize that WM6 is supposed to have the correct DST parameters already in, but thought perhaps the genealogy of this rom might be from a beta that was missing this nuance. Apparently not from what you say.

As mentioned, my wife's phone shows correct DST time so it wouldn't appear to be a t-mobile interaction, although I suppose one never knows. If you have any further ideas pse let me know.

On the hangs, yes, I think all of the hangs were associated with network access in one form or another-- save I had one in the camera... but the MDA was multitasking at that time- I was looking at networks in the comm manager- so it may have been in a network layer rather than the camera driver.

I could set up a temporary throw-away email account so you could set me up with a link when you have a rom-- and periodically check this thread to see when to do so.

Cordially,
d

Same happened to me using the opera applet. If you know how, maybe set the network timeout to a smaller value.

Btw, initial net accesses have seemed very slow, but it is hard to tell where the bottleneck is since so may things can play a role...need controlled expts to be sure. My impressions are that wm5 was much faster net access wise, but I have no controlled expt. I am using the opendns nameservers.

perm
19th March 2007, 08:08 AM
johnnylava above suggested that the link worked for him, although the MST DSTdidn't install for me on WM6 (still not sure whether he was using wm5 or wm6).

However on the page he linked to, MS has the registry entries as they are supposed to be with the change. I checked what is in my MDA with this rom and notice that for PST GMT_8 the entries are different after the
.... 03 ->

e.g. 03, e0, 01, 6x-00, etc.

whereas the registry on my unit for PST has

.....03, 3x00, 02, 00, 02, 7x00 (EOL)

Although I haven't tried to convert (nor do I know whether it is straightforward), the difference suggests that the rom TZ entries are not what they should be (unless mine is somehow corrupted- but this seems highly unlikely).

I may try to patch the PST entry by hand to see if this helps. For others, you can compare your TZ with the mentioned link.

Any further ideas most welcome.

Definetly on BatteryStatus and Contacts/SMS Backup. If you do BatteryStatus, what version are you going to do? If you are doing the Beta, then I wonder if Init_Tray is still needed since the Beta Battery Status can do a systray (and nicer IMO).

A built in registry editor would be nice also (PHM Registry) ;)

I think a new thread might be in order as they are diverging some with what is fixed and what is not. Also would give you control of the initial post where you can update it with current version information and links. Renaming it is really up to you. Let me know if you want different Splash screens (or just updating the text) for it and I can see what I can come up with.

Ok, I have an issue with the Java GMail client on this ROM. Let me preface this by saying I've ran this same client on WM6 MBE and Faria's and this behavior did not occur in those, so its new to mUn's aTRM...

When running the Java GMail client in the Midlet Manager on this ROM, everytime I click on anything, I get the gray page up that reads:

"Gmail" wishes to acces the network, which might use call time. This MIDlet suite is not from a trusted source. Allow this time?"

This makes using Gmail a real pain. In stock WM5, AKU 3.3, WM6 MBE, and Faria's "the real thing" I would get asked this when I did the initial connection, but not get asked again while it was running.

Best choice would be to have both of them and it could be up to user to disable whichever he/she doesnt want.

Well, we decided to please the G4 people and are going to skip the extended rom config. Plus, no matter what I try it seems hopeless. the checkautorun.exe does not see the partition.

Hey if thats the case, anyone know how to redo the partitions to put the extended rom space into the os space so we can get another 10mb of space?

Ok guys, here is your chance to help out. I need someone who knows how to disable the autoconfig for TZ and the other stuff. I want to make it so that you have to choose. This will solve alot of issues with the release. I want the standard startup back. :(

Ok, looks like I'm not the only one with the issue of GMail, and other things not working correctly with the Midlet Manager in this ROM:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297500

Any chance we can pull midlet manager 11.1.17.1029 out and replace it with 11.1.17.1023? You can find the .1023 one here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286604

BTW: Maybe the recooking of this rom needs to have its own thread so that those trying to do stuff with the original flavors can continue to post here. Its getting confusing in this thread now ;)

I just use PKGTools to view the dump directory of this rom, it says the build version is 15341, not as mentioned 17212 in the first post.
what's wrong with me?

As for the recooking, we are working on the same base as this its just repacking with the fixes in place.

that sounds a little bit strange. the following is what i cook in default.rgu (my ROM comes with extrom deactivated also), pls check again we don't miss anything:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm]
"TurnRadioFlag"=dword:0
"AutoRun"="\\Windows\\Autorun.exe (file://\\Windows\\Autorun.exe)"
"AutoRunCFG"="\\Extended_Rom\\Config.txt (file://\\Extended_Rom\\Config.txt)"

Ive tried them all. Every variation. I even took the ext rom and checkautorun along with the other config files from a rom with working extended rom. Its somewhere else that we arent looking. The question is where.

Ok, let me try this again... I just realized the updated splash screens I posted earlier today weren't really updated (I didn't name a file right when I was creating them so they didn't get changed in the nk.nbf . I just fixed this and have verified it works on my phone, so here's the latest ones attached to this message.

Also, my next issue... For me, if batterystatus 1.04.200 Beta is installed on my phone and running, when I reset if the USB cable is plugged in, my phone hangs on the 3rd splash screen (or sometimes when trying to display the Today screen). I have to soft reset and pull the USB cord every single time. I've confirmed that if I run BatteryStatus .04.200 (the one without the systray and CPU Scaler) then this doesn't happen. This same thing would occur when I was on WM6 MBE (but does not happen with the Faria WM6 rom). So for me it appears I may have to move back to the .04.200 version due to this.

Ok, a couple of things I found out... Seems with 1.04.200 Beta 2 if I turn on CPUScaler and set some value then this issue goes away (I had never set CPUscaler before as I wasn't sure (and still don't) what it does.

Now, I see there is a 1.04.201 Beta 3. I just installed that version and I can now do a soft reset without hanging at the 3rd splash screen with my USB cord attached and CPUscaler not turned on.

CPUScaler controls the speed your processor goes so that it is not at 260 all the time. This means less battery consumption since it will slow the processor down when not needed and will overclock when it is.

Cool. Thanks for that. Definetly turning this on. I assume its normal then to see the clock speed staying at 195 then with the Scaler turned on?

Sorry, I thought I had posted these but it didn't work due to size limits on the file. Here are scaled versions so you get the idea:

First one is the standard HTC Logo (one that shows up for just a couple of seconds). Second one is the one that your IPL and SPL will display on.

Basically the device does not ask you what time zone you are in or ask you to setup email and such. This is something that is a real problem since the DST issue. I want to make sure it in the rom on release but cant if its auto setting to PST. I have sent a pm to mUn for assistance. Waiting to hear back.

As NotTooSmart said, how about not spamming this mUn thread. He has put out a fast solid product and is being generous to support it. Frankly, most of the others roms around are full of all kinds of junk and/or are unreliable. There are some of us who would like to use the Wizard to make calls and do work [yup, some of us have to work for a living, ain't that a bumme ;-)].

The mUn+ rom is faster and appears to be as solid as the wm5 t-mob stock rom, and that is saying a lot. So I am really hoping that people will avoid hassling him and give him the space to fix the few minor warts remaining. Thanks folks!!!

For Mr. Understated (e.g. NotTooSmart), I have things working very will with lots of apps on the phone now, but recently started getting some "Cannot Execute calnot.exe" and "Canot execute clocknot.exe" messages. From a quick look around the web I see these are updaters for Outlook that are fun from the queue. I assume they are in the system rom (although I haven't done a find yet)- so do you think the path changed in WM6 or something like that? I googled the msg and see it reported (along with lots of superstition) in connection with wm5.

Thanks again for all your great help and the very, very nice rom.

Ok guys, for those of you that were looking for a G3 version with all the reg patches that are related only to this release, here you go. I tested it and have been running for 24 hours. All is good.

I have got to know the camera problem, the best camera application is used in molski 3.3, it is farias camera application.
i have taken that out from the molski roms, and try to put it into this rom and cook again but failed, it did not change anything and there was the old camera application.
I just deleted the old camera application from the rom and put all the new file i taken out of the molski rom. And cooked again with nb2nbf and flashed but failed.
Can you sort that out.

Just because it says faria dont make it better LOL. :D Anyway I will have to look at the diffrent roms to see which one is better and see what I can do to pull it out. As for right now Im working on 2 bugs that seem to be taking a good bit of time to fix. Sorry. Once I get these fixed I will be pushing out an ultra fixed version LOL.
