hmm,... i wonder why would someone want to use without battery? Ah i know!! because if you loose your battery or your battery die? yea its a good reason. i would like to use my athena without battery. well why dont you buy spare external power battery? you dont need internal battery necessarily.. anyways buy the htc athena and find out yourself. like you have a option? its the best in the market so there aint nothing else you can think of? unless u are finding excuses not to buy it... right?

thanks for all your response. the reason i asked this question is: usually when we use a laptop we can always use an ac adapter without pulling out the battery, which is harmless to the the battery life! but coming to pocket PC, i just wondering when you use the ac adapter, the battery will always be charged and the machine will always use battery's electricity, not from ac adapter directly. won't that be bad for the battery life??

sorry for my silly speculation.

actually the battery they use don't have that much of the battery memory effect, so you should be ok with these. The only problem you will face is battery capacity decrease over the time, so in my case, i usually change the battery after a year use (which doesn't cost that much compare to the laptop one ).
Hope this helps
