Do I need to install anything for this pending Daylight Savings Time so that my phone remains accurate?

yes none of the roms up there have the changes... the one i will release in a few days does.

Are you suggesting I will have to install a whole new ROM?
Or just an update? Don't forget, I have a G4 model if that matters at all.

no.... microsoft provides a cab for dst changes ...in fact there is one somewhere here in the site.:)

OK, sorry buddy, I'm now more confused...

Your last reply reply seems to conflict with your first reply.

First you said...

Now you say...

So WHAT do I actually need? Thanks again!

what im saying is that none of the roms currently have the settings implemented into them.....

all you got to do in your case is look for the cab file with the dst changes and install in your device, and you are done.

Oh, ok. Thanks.

I had actually DL'd the file from Microsoft, but it didn't want to install.

Have you or anyone else tried it?

It would be nice if someone would actually include the link in this thread for others to find more easily also.

I am using the WM6 MB version and when I woke up this morning my G4 MDA had updated on its own. I even got a window like I get with the PC saying the time had been updated.

I didn't use the .cab in this thread. Can I assume I am good to go?

Dave

That is a GOOD assumption! ;)

Mine did the same thing, and I hadn't installed the cab either.

I don't think you need the cab.

I did the following experiment.

Go to the clock and choose 2 timezones like Los Angeles and Berlin.

Change the date to March 10th: you will have 9 hours difference.
Between March 11th and 24h: 8 hours difference.
From March 25th: 9 hours difference again!

My conclusion is that WM6 knows about the new dates... may be not all of them, but at least US vs. Europe.

eluth.

Beyond what I described in my previous post, I still have a problem with ActiveSync + WM6 and the DST stuff.

I'm in California (GMT-8) and we are already in Summer Time.
I have the patch installed in Windows.

When I sync the PDA with the PC, the clock of the PDA is changed back 1h, like the PC "thinks" the PDA's time zone is GMT-8 (when the PC's time zone is GMT-8+1DST).

In other words, when it's 6pm, ActiveSync puts the PDA to 5pm!

Then all the appointments are also back-dated by 1 hour...

I tried this without any patch as well as with the microsoft Update for 2007 Daylight Saving Time.cab in this thread (which by the way is only adding key below): SAME RESULT. It does not work :-(.

Any Ideas? Does any one know the format of the TZI string?
