Close SlingPlayer
Copy the enclosed dlls into the Windows\ folder of WM6 Hermes.
Run SlingPlayer

Tested on 095 version.

Again, thank you very much. I never realized how much I liked using sling player on my phone until it was gone. I was almost set to return to WM5 just for sling.

How did you determine the dll's needed?

I actually went back to WM5 because of this. I guess now I can go back. I just wonder if you loose any decoding performance with older .dll's?

You are awesome! I was just looking into this the past few days, I am glad someone beat me to it, I was getting frustrated not seeing anything for the reason.

I made a CAB with the entire Slingplayer with the added DLL.

Radii...is this ver 1.1.0.95?

If it is, copying those files into the windows directory didn't work work. If it's a sub 1. version, does anyone have a download link?

EDIT: Sorry, my bad...it works great...thank you very, very much.

Who are you asking? I'm in a 3G area and Slingplayer works fine. It also works pretty well on EDGE. I have Cingular.

I live in the UK

I have the 30 day free trial working OK but I can't purchase from UK.

No UK country option on the checkout page.

Anyone know a way round this?

Call Sling also check out the sling forum, I heard about that but didn't pay attention since I don't live in UK.

I have called sling but they say it is not licenced for the UK so I cannot purchase, they say they hope to have a UK release later this year.

Nothing on the sling forum either.

I read on slingcommunity that someone volunteered to buy the code on US site if the UK person paypal the registation fee in advance, don't know how reliable that is. Maybe you have a US business connection and a friend could do it for you.

can someone please repost a link that i can get these files from please. I just upgraded to WM6 final 5.2.1236(Build 17741.0.2.1) that was released and my slinplayer no longer works.

Theres a slingplayer fix in the post for Black 2.5. Not sure if it will work for ur ROM though...

I tried the slingplayer WM6 cab and i get an error message saying "setup can be installed only on pocketpc...." I am using the t-mobile dash (HTC620)!! Being a newbie and all, I appreciate your patience and assistance wit this.

You have a smartphone, and this fix is for a PPC/professional phone. Maybe he can tell you which dlls are missing so you can add them :)

I just installed a Slingbox last night. I'm running vp3G V3.61 ROM and it seems to bw working. Is there some improvement to gain from running this fix or is it only if the Slingplay doesnt work with your Hermes WM6?

This fix was required before slingmedia fix the ppc player to work with WM6. It is no longer needed.

I've just installed Schap's 4.00 RC Full and my SlingMobile has stopped working. It installs ok and starts ok, but immediately after the status goes to "STARTING" it pops up a message saying it could not connect to SlingBox. I've used SlingMobile on previous WM6 ROMs, including vp3G and earlier versions of Schap's without problem. I am using the latest official SlingMobile ver (1.5.098). My laptop and desktop SlingPlayers are working fine, so the box itself must be ok. In fact, my Hermes can pull the connection from my laptop player, so I know the finder ID is correct, but even after it grabs the box, the Hermes won't actually connect and play. I think Schap is claiming this new version has WM6.1 - could that be the issue? Do I need to wait for Sling to rev the SlingMobile player yet again?

I'll have to down rev my ROM to get Slinging again, I guess.

Thanks for any ideas.

What are these fixes for? I'm currently running Black Majik's version of WM6 and use the Slingbox Pro with my AT&T 8525 here in Hawaii. We are running 3G here and it works great so far. No issues playing, except sometimes the data connection drops, but not sure if it's the phone, network, or the SlingMedia player.

A little more information would be useful.

1)What version of Slingplayer are you using?
2)What does this fix?
3)What devices is it known to work on?

I have an ATT Tilt Stock ROM v1.62.502.0. Slingplayer works fine over 3G, but won't work over WIFI. It hangs at attempting to connect.

Does this patch do anything for this issue?

Found solution that enables connecting by WIFI and 3G.

Download the cab from the link at this site:
https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2392297&SiteID=65
Install the cab with WIFI turned on.

Apparently installing through Activesync disables WIFI connection.

Performance is disappointing, however. I expected significantly better performance using my local network vs the 3G network, but there appears to be very little improvement.

Apparently the Tilt is a dog at handling any video, regardless of how good your connection is.

UPDATE: The fix was temporary. Can't connect with WIFI again.
