initflashfiles.dat
extracted all OEM mui's from an existing German ROM
removed T-mobile stuff from the original WWE WM6 ROM
check the registry
check some packages

bepe, you can use my kitchen to easily extract files/ replace files/ edit registry/ edit initflash ... i hope youll make a good translation :)

Thanks for the offering, but I'm mostly fighting with the configuration of that ROM. The translation was the easy part, cos I was able to use things from existing German ROMs...

I think there will be a beta the next days and I would need you all to check that for bugs :)

That’s the problem...
I don’t have a Hermes, so I cannot try it myself.
Bad thing is that I cannot guaranty that the ROMs I need tested would not brick a device.
I do my best, but no one is perfect and it is easy to brick a Hermes :(

asukal is testing the ROMs for me... he is a really good friend and I'm sure we will find a solution in case of bricking his device.

BTW, he will test the beta too... so it should not brick your devices

no, sorry... I can only make a German rom at the moment

1) If you substitute some files, reg values etc.. why you have to rebuild the Os and don't make a cab file installer??
2) Can you add to the first post ALL the registry keys changed & all the files substituted (and other things done)?

..also i want to start an italian translation project... but for now i'm searching spellcheck & words dictionary... and fixing keyboard issues..

the cab would be to big... about 6MB... also I think that it is better to have a clean rom

you should try my package tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296861)

use it to build packages of your rom and you will see that there are localized packages like: Base_Lang_0409
all files inside this localized packages should be replaced

What is the basic for your german rom? Auf welcher ROM-Variante basiert dein ROM?

I would prefer WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition (WM6 Pro Style).

Changed compared to what? bepe's ROM is not based on any of the other released ROMs, so there's no reference to compare gaianst.

...not that english is a problem but its weird seeing things like
"geburtstag von.." or "besprechung.." on an english device... especially when an english version of voice command is installed.

no, there is no shipping version, I just ment that it is based on the same rom as all the others... I just replaced the language

Hi could someone please post what version of .net 2.0 is included?
I use StarMoney Mobile for online banking - but .net 2.0 SP1 has a bug with the SSL implementation, so SMM is not working. Installing SP2 will fix that issue. But that will eat up a lot memory, so having it in the ROM would be better. So could someone please check?

I read this thres from the beginning and I'm very impressed of bepes work.
It would be nice to know if I can use your ROM to flash my Prophet without bricking it.
The other question would be if I can import or implement the german language files in a Prophet ROM and how to do that.
Would be nice if someone could give me a hint for that.

there have been a exe rom... on a private server.. it has been to expensive.. but i think nobody want to bring it online by rs or something else.. would be great to do this

hello I wanted tzo know how do you have done it. Install the german rom per Flash or per cab files ? when it is possible plz make it in cab files so Everyone with a WM6 device can use it.

Ever tried to install a new Windows over your old one while Windows is running? Its impossible. Its the same with roms you HAVE to flash a new one. Have a look at these guides:

Guys, why am I the only one, who is not able to install those .nb roms? Which Flash Utility are you using? I always either get a connection error or an error within the Update Utility, not able to open the Rom-File.

I found some Bugs for use with Black Pro 3.01 .. the patches don't work correctly @ some positions.

eg.
* Commmanager-Settings only 2 insteat off 4
* Commmanager-Settings for BT open Today-Settings
* Transalations for Encrytion is missing
* some TodaySetting not translated
* the File-Explorer doesn't show the Path-Pulldown any more
* after every reset wm6 wont reinstall touchscreen and the rest of the first installs

I flashed the test-version with Windows Live Messenger to my Hermes.
After some troubles (I don't do this very often, so everytime I do it it's a new start for me) I got it.

But I've one problem: I can't get a connection with ActiveSync (Version 4.5.0 Build 5096). It seems I don't get an IP.

If I plug in my Artemis (ARTE110 still with WM5) it works fine.
