I have noticed a decrease in in-call volume...is this an issue with wm6? At max volume, I have trouble hearing in a noisy environment...never had this problem before with WM5. The same issue i had with WMXDA Live v0.20. and now I have it using WM6 for Hermes LVSW Edition (2007-03-11). Any solutions?

When I driving my car I use it at the highest volume... (not hard enought)
this is not the max from WM5! In WM5 i have it one click under the max....

It seems like nobody use Hermes for voice calls...

Not very often. I am a data hound, but I did notice the smaller handset volume. Hopefully this is addressed soon.

I guess we are all deaf - coz there do not seem to be too many people who are bothered by this. The weird thing is, that the phone is capable of making a LOT of noise. Just set it to speakerphone and watch out! Would be really nice if we could crank up the "regular" volume a bit.

Add me to the deaf crowd, I am using the first release 0.10 and I noticed that if you change it to full volume, as long as you do not reset/turn off, for calls after that, it usually remembers the settings. I tried the fix mentioned earlier but to no avail.

Thanks.

Add me also I was outside and could barely hear the thing..

The speaker phone is pretty much useless if your not in a sound tight room.

I must be deaf too. I have had this same problem with all WM6 Roms I've tried so far.

Worth a try if you are still having problems hearing.

It did not work for me; the entry kept after I soft reset the phone but incall volume is still 1 increment below maximum. I have found if you set it to the max, it will keep until you soft reset it.

I have found that if you change a reg setting you need to do a power off not soft reset for it to correctly write it. I know this sounds strange but it works for me.

I'm still using WM5 (2.06 AKU3.3), and that attenuation registry setting defaults to '2' for me as well. So the volume technically shouldn't be any lower than the WM5 volume?

I did see it work after a power off (for max incall volume) but when you soft reset it after that, the volume returns to it's 1 increment below max.

I tested this on 3 different contacts.

Apparently, it appears that everytime you power off, the incall volume is max upon power on (though on my phone, when I power off, I always have to turn the "phone" back on once in windows via the comm mgr). So, the trick appears to be to only power off instead of soft reset (to keep the incall volume max)

The registry entry appears to be kept regardless of power off/soft reset.

Given what I have experience, I am not sure if the registry entry is the reason the incall volume is max after a power off/power on though.

I have found that if you change a reg setting you need to do a power off not soft reset for it to correctly write it. I know this sounds strange but it works for me.

Try this setting

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneVolume]
"DownlinkPhoneVolume"=dword:FF
"MappedDownVolume"=dowrd:FA

Yes you can if you choose Hexadecimal, or convert it to decimal

FF=255
FA=250

Anyone tried it? I don't have Resco installed yet.

I found how to fix this issue. No need any registry changes. All that we need is just only tap the icon and set up volume during the incoming or outgoing call time.
Now my incall volume is high enough.

It's common and you can use the D-Pad also.

I did not know that and I think more people did not know too because they had the same issue like they wrote there in this thread. I just tryed set up volume in stand by mode instead during the incoming or outcoming call.

You're right! Like I said, it's common. We should read the Manual and try every single common operations of our device before asking. Then we'll know a lot more then before.
