Ok, simple issue im pretty sure i can fix, Office Mobile and Phone are shown twice in the Menu Settings window and you are not allowed to remove the check from either. Ill see what I can throw together for it.

Will have to wait though since my boss wants me to actually work...... at work. LOL

You can just go into the windows->start menu and delete the office and phone files from there :)

I downloaded the last official rom from the T-mobile USA website and tried to flash that rom, but I got an error that reads "The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between your PC and the PDA phone." The connection is fine and my computer even makes a sound that it recognizes the connection. It happend to me too with faria´s new crossbow rom:
the device freezed at 99% and I reseted it then....nothing happend- bootloader mode: red green blue + usb... but no chance to flash ANYTHING... always the same message:ERROR (260) update error, no connection to the device...???

make sure you got the real rom from rapidshare....i cannot guaranty the other mirrors.....it may have a corrupted rom etc.......hence the problem you having.....files get corrupted by repacking or even uploading to a server....

I did the same thing at first (I am assuming you are central US and not central America) make sure you pick "Central US" and not "Central America". This fixed it for me. If you are in Central America, I'm sorry for assuming you meant US.
i have try -6 Central US, Saskatchewan, Mexico City and Cent. America all setting change back to default -5 Indiana(USA). :( since the clock time remain unchange so i dont really worry about switch timezone.


Mine does the same thing if I use setting->phone but if I use setting->sounds and notifications it stays with the new ring. I just have to remember if I go into phone settings to go back into sounds and notifications and reset it.

:D, here's what I've noticed about this rom compared to others.

The reception recovers 1000x faster after leaving the subway tunnel than MB or Underground edition.
Sometimes I receive signal a couple of seconds BEFORE I leave the tunnel, which is amazing, that hasn't happened to my 8125 since I've flashed it out of the stock Cingular one.
Other things: I haven't had a chance to mess with this one rom that much yet.

I have one issue with Your rom. I'm using polish keyboard. I can set this keyboard as default, but after soft reset, it comes back to system Keyboard.
And Sipchange dosn't work....
Is there some solution for this?
It was working on WM6 MB without Sipchange.

dont you have to add or edit some file in order to work? i think i read it somewere a few post back... i also should point out that the languages dlls for the phone pad are only US and portugues ..other languages can be suplied if requested....it may have something to do with that.

You should never reset while the program is loading. I have seen some takes a few minutes to go from 99% to 100%. Go get a drink or something!

I downgraded via button 1.5, then unlocked phone, then upgraded with this rom. My ipl/spl is 1.05 now.

How do I upgrade the ipl/spl? Does it really matter if it is not 2.xx?

if your g4 is cid unlocked you just need to flash the rom ,no shelltoll needed.

Do this:

Start > Settings > System > Registry Wizard > Tweaks3 tab

The last check box is what you want to be checked (on): "GPRS always on" and choose your GPRS connection in the dropdown. Then do Menu > Apply (don't just hit the X in the upper right or your change won't stick). You will probably need to soft reset after a minute or so.

What do u mean by Speed dial? Isn't it already there? Or maybe I am not geting it? There is a speed dial button in the phone menu.

Does anyone know how to make down and up buttons to scroll down and up as u are dialing a number? Coz when I start dialing and I see the contact I want to call on the third line I have to click him with the stylus which is really irritating. And when I try to push down or up it opens the call history window.

Any solution for this?

Prolly just a bug w/ WM6 but here's what I noticed...

Double click on "Shift" -> Indicator shows C
Next, Double on "Dot" -> Indicator shows Dot
Click on "Shift" -> Indicator shows Dot no matter how many times you press Shift
Click on "Dot" -> Indicator shows C
Click on "Shift" -> Indicator shows Dot
Click on "Dot" -> Indicator shows C again

I have tried typing and verified that the indicator is correct.

I flashed it succesfully using shell tool, my old extended rom ran after the flashing, i dont know how.
So I just got into total commander and deleted the extended rom. And hard reset the device and its now working fine.

I installed this rom using shell tool with some effort, but my os shows up as 2.18.00? whats the deal with that? And is there any way to instal the extended rom onto the g4 locked device? because i belive it wont be as good without the ext rom customizations. Any way, still some bug fixing to go. I seemed to be able to get the ext rom from faria's aku3.3 rom working on my phone, but that doesnt seem to work again. Any ideas?
Also, is it normal not to have any menu drop down sounds etc. there seems to be some missing sounds.

Well i have flashed it with the shell tool and also then extracted the extended rom and flashed on its own.
First back to t-mobile rom
then install cabs
re-boot flash with shelll tool
finish
hard reset
then i xtracted the extended rom using the typho 5 tool created a installer tool flashed extended rom on its own and then did a hard reste on the wizard allowing customizations to run

i have reflashed back to the wizard love rom then flashed using the shell tool and it stops after about 2-3 mins says its ended which is to soon flashed the new mun rus with no hassles so will stick with that for a while

Ok here is the extended rom on its own for G4 users only flash this after using shell tool to install farias rom after you have flashed it with farias rom run the newwizardromupdateutility and check that it has uploaded to the extended rom with total commander under extended_rom
then hard reset the mda and allow the software to run

2) Time only displays 24hr/military. Not single digit if I change it. Out of nowhere yesterday it started doing that and switched after a reboot to 24hr time.

3) .pdf attachments that arrive in Pocket Outlook via Exchange Push, Error when trying to open after downloaded: Cannot display the attachment.

Attachment has the .pdf Adobe Icon next to it, but it can't open it.

.doc word docs open fine.


Attachments are on the SD card.

4) Bluetooth pairing doesn't keep the device as the handsfree set between reboots. The device shows up under Bluetooth settings, but I have to select it as the handsfree set to use, then I can use it in the phone.

2) You mean Regional Settings and Time Format? Tried that, didn't take. My appointments in calendar etc..still show 24hr format doing the H:MM:SS format in Regional.

Another thing, your date format is not US standard. We use MM/DD/YY for Short Date. I can live with that. Long date it fine. Maybe that is a MS thing, but never noticed it before maybe.

I flashed mine today and it's working just fine apart from Wi-fi stuff, which I'm trying to fix right now, may be due to smartskey overclocking. I didn't manage to flash it from the first time, can't really recall what the problem was, so needed to return to the original UK T-Mobile rom twice. I've got MDA Vario, G4 CID locke.

Actually, good question, is there any way to unlock G4 at all or, for our sins, we doomed to use ShellTool, which is great tool in its own, but, usually, pain in the ass if you need to re-flash the boy a number of times.

First off. Great ROM. Maybe the fastest and most stable that I've tried, and I have tried them all. Have no problems with WIFI or date and time issues. My battery seems to last forever and with crashes or resetting so far.

1) Not sure what you mean? In Clock settings where you can change the timezone, it is a radial button, so it is either Visiting or Home? Is there another location to set the master Time Zone I am missing?

First of all thank you, this is a brilliant ROM.
With every other WM6 ROM I have tried I have had to revert back to WM5 because of reliability.
I just have one issue (which I can live with) it seems that after a while activesync will not sync but instead just sits there connecting. Once I reset it syncs OK, also when active sync does work it resyncs all my contacts, web sites, notes etc, not just the changes.

Anyone else having activesync issues?

props on this rom tho. all bugs fixed and kick a$$ fast! and with the development of the 2.61.11 radio gprs fix this is by far my favorite rom (till the vanilla comes out).

However, no matter what I do on this ROM, I get the "answering modem has disconnected..." message when trying to use GPRS. I've tried changing my radio stack back to T-Mobile's default on 2.26 (2.25.11), but that hasn't helped either.

Has any figured out how to get GPRS working with T-Mobile US on the otherwise wonderful ROM?

Ok, figured that one out...

Good stuff this ROM, I really like, a few minor things that need tweaking like mentioned in earlier post, but otherwise, nice.

Also, activsync annoyance when open, it used to say last sync time, now it just says "Connected".

Yeah, it is supposed to be direct push etc..but it really isn't connected all the time, that is why I like the actual Last Sync Time stamp on there...because sometimes you get off the phone, and the data doesn't connect back up, and you don't notice for 2 hours and realize, why haven't I got any emails..turns out, last sync time was awhile ago and radio didn't connect for whatever reason.

I know you can view the status log, but that requires more button pushes to get the last sync time, nice to have it right on the screen...would be really cool if it said "Connected" as well as "Last Sync Time: blah.."

And I suggest disabling Network Time then changing BOTH Home and Visiting Time Zones to your home zone.

Ya i was having problems when i was using activsync! I had to hard reset my phone a could of times cus it keep freezing when syncing the calander, just thinking maybe somehow it has done something to my phone! So i guess i will have to go home and delete them all hard reset and see if that make a difference.

I'm pretty sure I've configured the GRPS connection properly to internet.voicestream.com, having done this on many other ROM upgrades. However, no matter what I do on this ROM, I get the "answering modem has disconnected..." message when trying to use GPRS. I've tried changing my radio stack back to T-Mobile's default on 2.26 (2.25.11), but that hasn't helped either.

Has any figured out how to get GPRS working with T-Mobile US on the otherwise wonderful ROM?

Internet Explorer wasn't working for me either - it would appear to start up and then quit. I un-installed PIEPlus and now Internet Explorer works.

Well i have hard reset my phone now and have not put anything on it and it still will not do anything after the 24th!!!

I got it to make occurs ever sunday for example but it will not do a sigle day item!!! So anyone do you have any ideas?

And if i try to edit it, it just tells me that the database has been deleted or corrupted!

You didn't by chance try to restore a WM5 set of PIM database to WM6 did you? (I only ask because I tried to do this when I first installed WM6 MBE and had the database corrupted error. Learned real quick tht doing a restore of a spb backup from wm5 wasn't a good thing ;).

Firstly hi all, and thanks for the ROM Faria.

I've spent the passed few weeks reading, rereading, rerereading, then unlocking & ROM upgrading, all with no probs.
I put this particular ROM on and all was great until I tried using Registry Wizard to enable the Caps/Symbol lock icon, when I soft reset it just wouldn't boot again. So I hard reset the Wizard and then reset activesync and now it keeps hanging on the calendar sync and will not complete the sync.
I have managed the following:-

1) got the calendar to sync once last night but then it did not work correctly on the Wizard, the CPU usage was constantly at 100% and the calendar would not open (just had the spinny icon stuck in the middle of the screen).
2) I've hard reset again and unchecked calendar synching and all is fine but when I try to add it again it hangs at the same point during active syncing of the calendar.

I'm not convinced that it is a problem with the ROM, is it possible that something is corrupted in Outlook on my desktop? is there a way to get it to check calendar entries for corruption? I've tried the detect and repair option to no avail.

I'm still searching for a resolution as this ROM was spot on before the calendar prob and will let you know if I manage to fix it.

Well i have just took a risk!! I start the flashing and stoped it at 7% so the PPC would just have no data (cus it lost the 7% when i pressed restart) And flashed another WM6 and the Calanda work right again so just re flashing this WM6 and will let you know!!

Anyone using Picsel Brower with this rom, cause when I try to use it, it seems to connect for a few secs and stops "unable to connect to server" I tried alot of big sites to make sure like download.com or msn.com this, with activesync on my DSL PC internet. Internet Explorer works fine, in the same setting. Picsel Brower worked on Faria's 3.3, I'm wondering if has to do with wm6 or some registry tweak done on the rom to effect the program? Give me a shout if anyone using this program on the same rom and works then I know it's my setting. Thanxs.

just ran the 6 update and got to 99% and got stuck on the color bars screen after running the "repair". My laptop won't recognize the phone for a sync. Took the battery out and SIM card and when i put them back in it goes directly to the color bars. how do i reload the update and/or get out of the color bars?

Well if his sig file is correct and I am not mistaken he is running 2.25 (GSM = radio)

Freyman - I know that a lot of people really LOVE the 2.19 radio and swear by it. I had it and I find that in Washington DC I get better reception and better reconnects with the 2.47

They are both readily available (even on the FTP here I think) so I would download both, and run each for a few days and see which works out the best for you. There is also 2.61 which i thought had all kinds of problems (which have supposedly been fixed) but since a connection is kind of important to me I have not played with that one yet.

STOP making an ASS of yourself, I personally have no idea what you are talking about and cannot help but I am sure that with that attitude no one that can is falling over themselves to help you.

Remember, upgrading is not your birth right, it is a privilege, and quite often there are problems with the process. Stop acting like a spoiled child. Try doing a google search (although I did and could not find anything) or perhaps searching M$ knowledge databases. BTW, you have 3 posts and they are all about this problem. Have you tried searching or reading anything else on this forum?!?

If you don't have the patience for this then I suggest you head directly to the nearest wireless store and buy a "fone" that is a lot easier to use.

try a hard reset and see if that helps. If not, read back through this thread as others have had the same issue.

have you tried checking the sounds & notifications settings and checking screen taps? Most people find it annoying so the cookers disable it by default.

that is the app tha lanches the operators configurations....that means you missing a part of my rom....you either have only the extended rom installed or the OS....does it say my name in the splash screen?

otherwise you phone is not unlocked or you got one of those crap g4 devices that cannot write the extended rom.

but that is not a problem because my roms are made to run without the extended rom.....i just put extra stuff there.

I've tried a few times to upgrade and it gets to 99% and then it stops and says communication error and then it takes me to the recovery process. I run it again and it says I need a newer update tool. I've tried searching a little bit and I cant seem to find a straight answer. Anybody have suggestions or ideas :) Thank you in advance.

The zip file has the .reg file to enable the menu sounds and two .wav files of the sounds themselves. Menupop and Menusel which go into your mobile windows directory.

You obviously have not read the entire thread as its been discussed with people saying they have had issues with shell tool, that shell tool works with no problem, etc etc etc. Even the term G4 has been used (not just shell tool) in this thread.

So short answer: yes, its G4 compatible.

Long answer: Some G4 people have had various issues and you'll have to read and find out what they are, and how they fixed it (or gave up). I'm not a G4 person so can't comment on whether the G4 probs had to do with the person installing or the ROM itself. YMMV

Change your Date seperator in Settings/Regional/Date from . to /
Time should be h:mm:ss tt ... (lower case)

And I suggest disabling Network Time then changing BOTH Home and Visiting Time Zones to your home zone.

It only has H:mm:ss as an option as well as the 24hr format.

Capital H in Regional settings Time.

Also, synctime isn't running, if so don't know how to disable it because it doesn't show as a running task, and don't see the service key or startup item anywhere either.

A lot of work was put into this I know, but these simple mundane things that aren't even customization or tweaks should just work, at least the basics should, seems like everything else works but the fundamentals I am having problems with on this ROM. Ringtone doesn't stay, reverts back to Windows Default, Bluetooth device drops off as the handsfree, have to set it all the time in the Bluetooth settings, never had this issue before also. 24hr time isn't working etc...GPRS/Radio drops off and won't reconnect sometimes for no reason, signal is low compared to my last cooked ROM...so forth..basics that make using this thing shadier by the day...

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, if this continues with no resolution for a few more days...back to some other ROM I guess.

Read all about your ROM. Sounds hot. I have a O2 Xda neo (prophet g4, etc...) Flashed the ROM fine, but now I am stuck in bootloader. There is no OS or GSM just:

I think I got the ringtone to hold.

I found the ringtone I wanted in Windows Folder App, pressed and selected it and brought up context menu...an option is Set As Ringtone...after many reboots it is holding and hasn't changed...

So, don't know why setting it in the Phone app doesn't hold, but this did.

Anyway, I am on a roll now fixing minor issues...it keeps getting better and better with this ROM now...

Since you are a Prophet, not sure this will work, but for most G4 devices, installing the Wizard Love rom gets people back going. You'll have to search for links here to find it, or search for it on PirateBay and download the torrent for it.

What radio version are you running? anything above 2.19 will not auto reconnect to GPRS when signal drops with WM6 there is a thread in Wizard upgarding on this and some people are working on a fix.

1) There is a program that runs at startup called start clean. To stop this from running and removing the recent programs, just remove the program from the Windows/Startup folder

2)Not sure what you are asking regarding the system tray. Do you want programs to show up there or not? If you want to remove it completely there are a couple of things you need to do, remove the INT_TRAY(or something like that - mines gone) from the Windows/Startup folder and un check the Tray Icons from the Battery Status program running on the today screen, press and hold the little battery icon to bring up the options etc.

faria moved activesync to programs --> office mobile. took me a minute to find as well. If you want it back in programs, just move it back.

My phone did that with the orwells rom once where it wouldn't stop ringing. strange issue. i pulled the battery out and put it back in and it hasn't happened again.

i see that your IPL/SPL isnt at 2.26...i dont know if that will do the trick but give it a shot...flash to tmobile shipped 2.26 and then to this ROM...thats the best advice i can give you, i havnt flashed this ROM yet...im still on MB edition

New icons are part of the settings that Faria made when he cooked the ROM. Feel free to change them in the battery status program options.

Another thing I'm noticing is that I always have to re-pair my bluetooth headset whenever I go out of range or the phone is reset. It used to automatically re-pair during AKU3.3. Is there any way to fix this?

i see that your IPL/SPL isnt at 2.26...i dont know if that will do the trick but give it a shot...flash to tmobile shipped 2.26 and then to this ROM...thats the best advice i can give you, i havnt flashed this ROM yet...im still on MB edition

I have a G4 ( unlocked ) which has been running on Lord Faria's 3.3v2 ( thank you Faria, my next son will named Faria in your honour :) )

I thought I would try most Beautiful and liked it so when this came out I couldn't wait.

Now The Problems begin.

I downloaded from Faria's link.
Double clicking crashes on the NBF file saying it it is corrupt
Tried the other links on this thread same issue.
Extracted with an unzipper and its ok but when using it I am left with the colour bands.
I then put T-Mob US rom to upgrade my IPL SPL so am now on 2.26
Tried again same colour bands
I then put Wizard Love , seems ok
Tried again and coloured bands

I really could do with a help soon.

I am thinking ( always a dangerous thing to do) that either
the downloads are corrupt - nope
my XP is corrupting the downloaded files - used a desktop and got a proper download
my phone is relocked ( i think i have the imei check unlocker somewhere ) - went thru unlocking process again
or something really simple that one of you guys will tell me and I can sort out ASAP

I need help because I think this crashed my Wizard...

I have a Cingular 8125 with Windows Mobile 2005

I ran the utility and went through the process like instructed then at 99% it gave an error that said it needed to run the recovery console. So I did. Then when it asked to run the update utility again, I ran that same zip file with the password on it (right?) and it said ERROR [300]: Invalid Update tool

And tells me to exit.

Though my phone is still at the RGB colored screen.

ANY HELP!!@?

Im guessing its not finishing the update process because its at the RGB screen and cant Establish an ActiveSync connection... Please someone tell me I didn't just brick my phone? I wasn't doing anything else on my computer while it was updating... just watched it.

I just tried my older rom :
Cingular_RUU_Wizard_AKU2.3_Custom_RNG_THM_A2DP_TES T.exe

AND that atleast detected the phone even when at its RGB color screen state but that one only went to 98% now when trying to update. So I tried the new crossbow one again and still didn't detect the phone at the RGB screen. With ActiveSync program on the PC on and even not loaded. (it still doesn't find my phone anyway though)

You have to give us more information. What is your IPL/SPL? Is your Phone a G3 or G4? Is your phone CID Unlocked?

My first recomendation is for you to flash the Cingular or TMObile official ROM (Not some custom ROM). You need to be on a stable base before doing anything else.

If you are a G3, then go read the stickies on how to CID Unlock your phone and do that (every single step). I recomend the Dr's post as it has every step and what to do and look for. You are going to have to search also to find the Button ROM, but links for it are around.

If you have a G4, then you need to read the Sticky (Wizard Upgrading forum) about how to install on a CID Locked phone (or pay the $30 and get your phone CID Unlocked at Imei Check.)

Its critical after you get CID Unlocked that you get back to an official 2.x ROM (I like the TMobile 2.26, and yes, I'm on Cingular). THEN and only then, flash a custom ROM like this one.

Sorry, but take a chill pill and READ... I've given you everything I can do. You still haven't had the decency to answer my questions to you, you just post panic messages. What is your IPL and SPL on the screen??? Is this a G3 or G4 device??? If you can't answer either of these you shouldn't be flashing your device.

I'm more than willing to help if I see people are willing to help themselves. I know you were in a panic over a supposedly dead phone, but to me you want us to do this for you. In my first post to you I explained what to do. READ... If you can't figure it out from that post, then you don't want to try to do the CID unlock procedure. YOU have to know what type of phone you have. READ the Wiki as it will tell you how to tell. This is up to you to do. As someone else has stated, flashing / upgrading your device is your choice, its not a RIGHT that you have. You need to read and learn before you attempt any of this. Also understand that even after you successfully put this rom on, you are going to have to do other things to make it work (ie: MMS and sometimes SMS may not work. YOU have to figure out how to fix that).

I love this board and the information here because there is so much... But people that come here and want to be spoon fed is getting VERY old.

this is correct....my pauses at 99% and 100% [red bar] this when the device checks the rom against the image [CID AND nbf] in the pc if they match the rom loads fine if they dont match ....no rom.this is stard for htc devices .

those files are corrupted ,this happens when you turn the device off suddenly or remove the card while is being read.....run a check disk in the PC to fix it.

i work 12 hours a day....i also receive and try to answer over 50 PMS a day....the rom will be ready when its ready....i will not rush ...this the reason there is so many poor Roms around....im planing to release in the middle of next week.
as you may know Sunday is mothers day in the uk.....we are overbooked allredy....plus i need to find time for this works and other.,my family etc.... this is not a paid job ...so please be patiente.....i always deliver dont i ?:D

Dude....not to be rude....you're in the wrong thread !!!!!
Now that you know that your phone isn't unlocked....go to that thread and follow the instructions step by step. If your phone is a year old, unlocking is easy...you just didn't do it. The process will take you about 2 hours.

The reason I'm speaking up because this happens everytime........a new rom comes out > people flash their phones > people get stuck in bootloader mode or phone won't boot completely > people cry out..." I bricked my phone....HELP me please :eek: !" AGAIN...go to the correct thread...you know what you need to do so do it.

I've seen these threads get taken over by premature flashers and get shut down by the chefs. I don't think any of us want that to happen.

This is a forum where we talk and help each other....at the same time, you won't take a Honda to a Mercedes shop to get fixed.

Where you need to go is on the 1st 2 threads of EVERY page in the Wizard section...you can't miss it!

History has shown that this is a symptom of using a radio other than 2.19.11. Some people have success using something else, most don't.

I then put some entries back for the beginning of this week and all was still fine.
I then put one entry after 24 March 07 and the calendar on the Wizard seems to permanently use 100% CPU stops responding and slows everything else down to a crawl.
When stopping it in the running programs list it says Program not responding.

It seems that funman has the same or similar issue, does anyone else?

Shame because I had everything else setup just how I wanted it, I guess it's back to 3.3 for a while longer.

OK, im back... LOL.

Everything works great except that when I press the Turn on Wifi button, it goes through the process or something and just turns it right back off.

Right when I started, the first time I used it, it worked, came up and everything. I have installed these things since I started :
Flash Lite 2.1
Magic Button
Put some ringtones and synced everything else from outlook
Spb Mobile Shell
Core Pocket Media Player

And tried to remove that battery status thing but it didn't want to uninstall but took it off today screen.

I flashed the ROM yesterday (was using the faria 3.3 ROM before).
VERY GOOD WORK !!! Thanks Faria :))))))

I played with it for about 40 minutes. I uninstalled is because ActiveSync 4.5 did NOT sync with it & made my PC act like a 486 :P
I had real trouble connecting the Phone to my PC for the Downgrade to Faria3.3.

Because of that "little" MS related problem I could not put my contacts in my phone.... In my desperation I tried copying an old version of pim.vol that I had copied to the SD and ... IT WORKED!!!
Everything (older version of my contacts though..) contacts & calendar was there. That a good thing to know if ppl stick to Farias products ;)

Some comments/first impressions for the ROM :

-The speed of the rom was a bit slower than the Aku3.3 but without overclocking ;)

-I liked the WM6 very much in comparison to WM5.

-The only thing I noticed (except the ActiveSync related problems) was that SmartDialingAtom_RUS.cab with the customised version of smartdialing.dll didn't work. I could search only the contacts with English characters...

-The autocomplete/correct/T9 in SMS worked better than WM5 :)

Speed is very good, better than AKU 3.3. My GPS navigation program is lot faster.

I have noticed that SDcard is not realising memory after I remove it.

gprs monitor works fine also.

There is one thing I can`t configure. On AKU 3.3 ROM my left and right buttons were assigned to iLaunch task manager and closeall application.
But the buttons worked with the hold function which means I could initiate CloseAll even under different application, when different function was indicated on first plan. This was perfect solution for me.

Don`t you know how to configure this? Is it the iLauncher functionality or something else in WM6?

Well, according to my question. I just had to enable smartskey which is available in the ROM package, but not enabled in deafult. Now its fine and tap&hold function works on softkeys beautifully...

I got the same message on the Most Beautiful ROM after I ran pocket mechanic. I solved it by installing Faria's ROM :) You might try re-installing voice command. If you don't have the file you can either hard reset or try to find it online. I won;t have access to that .exe until next week.

Yes, as dwny said this is because you are using a radio other than 2.19 and so am I. Faria's does not update the radio, you can get it in the FTP (I think Radio roms are still up)

The problem is that 2.19 gives less than stellar reception in fringe areas and takes longer to reconnect after dropping signal which is why I am on 2.47. There is also 2.61 which is even better but has the same challenges.

There is a thread in the main Wiz upgrading forum abut this and Space Cowboy (?) is going to take a crack at fixing the 2.61 to work properly with WM6.

BTW, none of this is a problem with WM5 so techinically you could go back to 3.3 and have the good radio without the connection problem.

Long time lurker here, but the great work and effort you put in Faria has prompted me to write a huge Thank You. I had tried a few of the other WM6 roms, but this one is amazing!! I have noticed a few items and just wanted to put them out there if this might help the community.

1. Most noticeably, I have seen that my screen seems less responsive. I know that this sounds strange, but from the the moment that I installed this rom, there are times that the touchscreen is not responding. Especially, but not exclusively when trying to close an app. I can still move around with the d-pad, but I will try and use the stylus and nothing. I am not blaming the rom, but just wanted to see if others might be having this problem as well.

2. I am using Activesync 4.5 (on XP Home) and it seems that when my phone is plugged in it wants to sync repeatedly. This can be annoying, especially when trying to load programs.

I guess some people are having problems with radio 2.61, but I have had great success with it coupled with this rom. All in all, a fantastic rom, thanks again faria.

umm since you and funman are having the same issue, i would really like to help in all ways possible, try this: unplug your device from the computer, delete all partnerships on ActiveSync, go into outlook, and add a date after the 24th of march, softreset your device, and plug it in, and let it sync, wait for a long time if it says connecting or whatnot, leave it in for about 10 minutes and see what happens.

umm since you and funman are having the same issue, i would really like to help in all ways possible, try this: unplug your device from the computer, delete all partnerships on ActiveSync, go into outlook, and add a date after the 24th of march, softreset your device, and plug it in, and let it sync, wait for a long time if it says connecting or whatnot, leave it in for about 10 minutes and see what happens.

What do u mean by Speed dial? Isn't it already there? Or maybe I am not geting it? There is a speed dial button in the phone menu.

Does anyone know how to make down and up buttons to scroll down and up as u are dialing a number? Coz when I start dialing and I see the contact I want to call on the third line I have to click him with the stylus which is really irritating. And when I try to push down or up it opens the call history window.

Any solution for this?

Thank you very much for your work on this. So far, for me, everything is working perfectly.

I see that you suggested only using overclocking to enhance speed with the ROM, in order to conserve RAM. However, isn't the point of more RAM to enhance speed? I figure unless I can't load a large program, say Skype, I have enough RAM. Otherwise the internal memory management seems to do a good job of swapping things in and out of RAM as needed. So, I increased the block transfer size of the SD card to 256, and increased the glyph cache a bit, and it seems pretty stable. I'm not sure it made a great difference as it was already pretty quick, but I just wanted to see how others were doing with adding all the "speed tweaks".

Hi Malik05, thanks for the advice, but I already tried it to no avail, sometimes activesync does seem to time out after 10 mins or so of no activity but the problem putting calendar entries is still there and I've also noticed that some of the birthday & anniversary dates are messed up.
A previous post suggested copying "pim.vol" from the Aku3.3 version (but I didn't save it before re-flashing), could it be that pim.vol is corrupt in some way?

PS. My IPL/SPL are both 2.26, I followed the unlock & flashing guides fully and as recommended by Dr Puttingham I downgrade to T-Mob 2.26 each time I re-flash.

Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings > Time

Click on Time Style drop down and use the little scroll arrows in the drop down to find the h:mm:ss tt on and you'll be set. Capital H is military, lowercase is am/pm. Microsoft hid this one well with the stupid 2 line drop down and a tiny scroller...

Scroll up in the time formats until you see the lowercase ones. (I think this is pretty standard.) Also, double check your date/year before installing software and really using it. I know to do this and completely forgot about this until after using the ROM for a couple of days - just flat out didn't notice that the date was set incorrectly for some reason.

1) Yesterday my WiFi quit working for a bit. I don't know exactly what happened except that I tried to turn it on in the Comm Manager and it just wouldn't come on. I tried three more times and still no joy. I soft reset twice and finally it came back to life. I remember you said your Wizard Wifi went bad and you had to have it repaired. Could this be ROM related?

2) What is your take on the power consumption of this ROM. A few people said this and all other WM6 ROM's drain the battery pretty quickly. I've NOT had that problem with your ROM, and I'm curious what difference there is in the core that may be the culprit.

3) How hard is it to release a standard 12MB page pool version of the vanilla ROM alongside the 4MB version? I don't necessarily need the extra program memory and would like to have something to judge against. If we knew how to change to 12MB, that would be nice :).

I still like this current release and may stick with it for the long term.

I am currently working towards moving from underground to this realease. My question is has anyone seen memory card corruption with this or other WM6 roms? I have a 4GB mini SD that disappears from the wizard and I have to reformat it to even get windows to see it. It just started happening this evening.. I do not have any other cards to test with so it is hard to confirm a theory. THe othe forums on subject really did not help much I just wanted your input.

I finally took the plunge and switched from the Underground WM6 to Faria's. What a difference!! I didn't think ANYTHING could be better than the Underground ROM. . . boy, was I wrong!!

I started the switch by doing a final backup sync and exporting what settings I could from my programs, then downgraded to the T-Mobile 2.26, then upgraded to Faria's WM6 ROM. . . then, loaded the T-Mobile 2.19 Radio.

After loading the ROM, making the radio change, doing the initial sync for my contacts, calendar, notes and files, assigning my contact ringtones and setting up my email, I had close to 40MB Storage and 27.6 Program Memory.

I then reinstalled the apps that had to go onto the phone itself a couple at a time, doing a soft reset after those before I went on to the next installs to give me a chance to try them out to see if they were going to be compatible with the new ROM. I never got any error messages or "cannot execute. . ." errors.

I then checked all the apps I run from the storage card, and reinstalled a few that needed to be reinstalled -- as they also wrote changes to the registry. Still only installed a couple at a time before soft-resetting in order to check them out for compatibility. . . with no errors or problems.

After all was said and done -- WiFi works, GPRS works, Standard Time displays, email and SMS works, and all my apps that I was previously using work. At this point, PocketBreeze is the only Today Plugin I'm using -- with Custom tabs for iLauncher, PocketWeather and Spb Time. I'm left with 25MB Storage and 22MB RAM. Not too shabby in my book.

I haven't noticed any battery drain, as of yet -- but, I've been connected via the USB sync cable to the desktop for most of the evening to reinstall apps. I can check the battery useage over the next couple of days to see how that goes.

All in all, I'm VERY happy with this ROM. I thought I had found my "resting place" with Underground, but . . . NO!! This is IT!!

GREAT JOB FARIA!!! I am one happy camper right now!!! :)

I downloaded the rom upgrade and followed all the steps, everything was working fine and the upgrade process reached 99% and then it took me to a "Recover screen" that asked me to remove the battery for 3 senconds and put it back again, if I saw a 3 color screen then I need to run the upgrade again.

No the upgrade doesnt want to run and tells me I need to get a newer upgrade tool.

My K-Jam is now stuck with a 3 color screen. ANY SUGGESTIONS ????!!

Same song everytime... Please give us more information. What type of phone do you have (G3 or G4)? What is your IPL and SPL showing on the rainbow bootloader screen?

At this point you will need to flash an official ROM (like the TMobile 2.26 official ROM http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/Software_List.cfm?selDevice=24 ). If that doesn't work, then find the Wizard Love ROM and flash it (You'll have to search for a link to that one, or go to PirateBay and search for Wizard_Love and download the torrent via uTorrent or BitComet). One of these should get you back to a working phone. At that point you need to CID Unlock it (if its G3) or use Shell Tool (if its G4). Go over to the Wizard Upgrading forum here at XDA-Developers and look at the stickies at the top of that forurm for doing CID Unlock and installing with a CID Locked phone.

You can use Voice Command... It's already installed in this ROM... no more having to re-record all your voice tags. All you have to do is say "Call <Name>" or if the contact has more than one number.. "Call <name> at home" etc...
You might have to play with it a bit though to understand its voice patterns.
ie. It pronounces Fido as "fiddo"

The Jamin aka Prophet is not the same as the Wizard. Don't know why you even try to install the Wizard ROM in it. You might have better luck asking for help in the Prophet forum.

1. Locate a factory ROM
2. Turn off the USB connection in ActiveSync
3. While in bootloader mode, flash your factory ROM
This will revive your device & make it usable. Check and make sure your IPL & SPL are the same.....if not, you have to fix that with a Rom for your device that has these matched up.

Following on from my previous posts regarding this ROM hanging when activesyncing calendar entries beyond 24/03/07 and solving it by deleting the calendar entries, after numerous attempts and several hours of reading I have now:-

1) Removed the pim.vol file and let it create a new blank one, this resulted in calendar entries before 24 March been OK but any entered afterwards appeared to enter but when checking the entry it is just blank (no error message popped up when entering the event)

2) Tried a few different pim.vol files to no avail

3) Re-flashing back to T-mobile 2.26 ROM, and all calendar entries were OK, i.e. before and after 24 March 2007.

4) Re-flashed to Farias Aku3.3 (in an attempt to get a good pim.vol file)

5) With a fresh install of Farias Aku3.3 tried to enter a calendar entry after 24 March 2007 and got the error message "Cannot save. Select a time that is not invalid due to daylight savings time"

6) Changed regional settings between UK & USA

7) Installed the "DST2007WM5.cab" DST fix and changed regional settings again (to make sure it had picked it up).

All of the above was to no avail, hopefully there is something simple I am missing? any ideas please?

After 10hrs of messing around trying to cure my calendar activesync problem and then unable to make calendar entries after 24 March 2007, I finally found out I could have cured it in 10 seconds, simply by:-

1) go to Clocks & Alarms in system settings
2) Change to any other time setting and OK it
3) Change back to GMT and OK it

I realised it was this by re-flashing back to Farias Aku3.3 and getting the same result except that it popped up with the error message about DST instead of just not entering the calender entry.

Oh well, I've learnt a hell of a lot more in the process.

I have bought those "fake" from ebay and they were problems, after problems.

Confirmed that this works, looks like it mabe a UK Settings problem!!! You need to change it as above and then back and it works no problem!

I've tried twice now to flash this ROM to my G4 locked MDA using the ShellTool utility and both times it seems to have failed. The flashing process only takes about 2-3 minutes (which is unusual of course... I've never had any issues with any of the other WM6 ROM's) and then ShellTool says it is done. I follow the exact steps I've used many other times to flash ROM's to the same device.

Once I hard reset the device, it just sits at the main boot screen with the IPL, SPL, GSM, and OS versions. I've left it there for about 5 minutes now and nothing.

IPL 2.26.0001
SPL 2.26.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.18.0.0 (after failed flash)

I'm going to flash it back to the default T-Mobile ROM again and just go back to muns for the time being until this can be figured out.

I follow the exact steps I've used many other times to flash ROM's to the same device.

Once I hard reset the device, it just sits at the main boot screen with the IPL, SPL, GSM, and OS versions. I've left it there for about 5 minutes now and nothing.

Device information:
IPL 2.26.0001
SPL 2.26.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.18.0.0 (after failed flash)

I'm going to flash it back to the default T-Mobile ROM again and just go back to muns for the time being until this can be figured out.

It now works great. Cid unlocking really helps but of course it costs

In the months that we worked with this core neither of us had an issue installing apps to the SC. The only program I can't is Piscel Browser and that's an issue with it and not the ROM. My Resco Pic Viewer, Backgammon, Texas Holdem, Blackjack, Bedazzled and Vito AudioNotes are all on the Storage Card and all function correctly. More information is needed.

Hello there well i think i solved my install issue. I just installed something to main memory, uninstalled and reinstalled in storage card and now it was an ok install. Very strange bug. I hope i get rid of that because this rom is great.

Faria, three quick items (I'm reposting this because there are three pages of replies posted since this one, so sorry for taking up space):

1) Yesterday my WiFi quit working for a bit. I don't know exactly what happened except that I tried to turn it on in the Comm Manager and it just wouldn't come on. I tried three more times and still no joy. I soft reset twice and finally it came back to life. I remember you said your Wizard Wifi went bad and you had to have it repaired. Could this be ROM related? (In addition, my machine booted up today and there was NO radio ROM number present in the second boot screen) I'm getting a bit nervous here.

2) What is your take on the power consumption of this ROM. A few people said this and all other WM6 ROM's drain the battery pretty quickly. I've NOT had that problem with your ROM, and I'm curious what difference there is in the core that may be the culprit.

3) How hard is it to release a standard 12MB page pool version of the vanilla ROM alongside the 4MB version? I don't necessarily need the extra program memory and would like to have something to judge against. If we knew how to change to 12MB, that would be nice


Hi, I can take a crack at question 2...

When I used the other WM6 Roms, I also experienced a more rapid power drain. However, it wasn't anything I couldn't live with (still lasted a day of normal use). I then discovered the registry tweak to enable disabling power to the SD card (somewhere on this site), and my power consumption slowed to a dribble.

I forget the actual key, but I checked for it in this Rom, and Faria has already enabled it! Thus, this Rom has very good power usage right off the bat. Like any new Rom, after flashing, you should let the battery run way down at least once to "reset" it, at least thats worked for me.

my wizard wifi went dead because the device was flashed more than 500 times,it almost impossible to damage hardware with software....
im afraid i dont know the cause of your temp wifi lost,as you know weird thing happen at random in this devices and Roms.

the power management has been tweaked by me....as far as i know the battery time...exels compared to other crossbow roms...without losing perfomance.

to change the page poll take me 20 seconds....i may consider releasing more than one flavors.

Confirmed that this works, looks like it mabe a UK Settings problem!!! You need to change it as above and then back and it works no problem!

Can anyone please tell me if this works with G4? I flashed the ROM and it stuck at the 3 color boot screen so I had to reflash the Wizard Love to get it back. I've done this twice and keep getting stuck at the bootloader screen

Try using a G4 update utility for the rom. Cause I did it on a G4 sometimes you can update successfully from the bootloader (colour bars) or when the devices is in windows mobile. Sometimes it goes smooth and sometimes not, but it works, just keep trying.

Faria's or anyone know how internet sharing works? I plug the usb and have connections but on internet sharing connect is grey unable to click. Cause i'm so used to Faria's wm5 3.3, when I activesync the wizard with pc both share internet from my pc DSL connections. So I can update pocketweather or anything that needs update but now all the programs seems to only work with wifi connections?

I cant get it to flash to this rom at all. I run the ROMupdateutility and it says that its not compatible or something like that. I noticed on the first post it said something about needing bootloader 2xxx but how do I know what bootloader I have and how do I upgrade if need be?

There is a software called PMRecorder in the ROM. The software only records calls from one side. Is there any way we can record duplex calls?

Just seems that people tend to just look for the dl link and completely forget about getting a 2.xx IPL/SPL (Tmobile 2.26 recommended)...
