my wizard wifi went dead because the device was flashed more than 500 times,it almost impossible to damage hardware with software....
im afraid i dont know the cause of your temp wifi lost,as you know weird thing happen at random in this devices and Roms.


This is the only ROM this had happened on, so I didn't want to take chances by not letting you know. Perhaps my device is getting a little flaky (after a couple of 3 foot drops that's probably the case).

What type of device do you have? Is it unlocked? I was unable to flash it to my G4 using the ShellTool utility at all. Once I got my G4 unlocked, it flashed fine using the normal ROM update utility.

With the 2.61 radio... everything was working fine at the beginning but after a day or so w/o restarting, when I receive a call, the ringtone would start then cut off... sorta sounded like someone pulling the source from the speakers right after the initial sound... flashed it back to 2.19 yesterday and working fine so far...

Faria, does this ROM have the new radio stack you used in 3.3?
Also, I mentioned previously about bluetooth not reconnecting automatically after a reset (worked fine in your 3.3)... Anybody else experiencing this?


I'll leave it on 2.19 for a few more days to see if it recurs. If it doesn't, I'll go back to 2.61 and see if it happens again...

THere is a thread in the Wizard Upgrading forum here were there is speculation about the 2.61 radio and issues that it has with WM6. They are working to come up with a solution to this. I have to say that 2.61 worked great on my stock Cingular 2.25 ROM, and on Faria's AKU 3.3. But Its been very flakey on all WM6 I've tried (MBE, Faria, and mUn). I'm sticking with 2.19 until they possibly port over the new radio stack that Faria put into AKU 3.3.

Hello. I got a question. 2 days ago i was running MB ROM and use Sbp Backup to make regular backups at my device. I decided to try faria's new rom (Which is great) and i was wondering:

a) If i do a full restore over this ROM with the backup i made when using MB ROM, do i "damage or corrupt" somehow the OS??

b) Shall i install all over again all my apps again ???

c) I just did full sbp restore and my device is working great, however i dont know if in the future i will have problems for overwriting system databases and registry.

I hope someone can give me an advice.

Hello there well i think i solved my install issue. I just installed something to main memory, uninstalled and reinstalled in storage card and now it was an ok install. Very strange bug. I hope i get rid of that because this rom is great.

I had same problem with Active Sync 4.5. that was too slow or didnot work with faria and other ROM makes.

My solution: on your wizard, choose Start/Settings/Connections, then open USB to PC and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality". That's all. Just for the case, before connectiong to PC open Active Sync on your PC and do File/Delete Mobile Device.

You can use Voice Command... It's already installed in this ROM... no more having to re-record all your voice tags. All you have to do is say "Call <Name>" or if the contact has more than one number.. "Call <name> at home" etc...
You might have to play with it a bit though to understand its voice patterns.
ie. It pronounces Fido as "fiddo"

I've tried Voice Command earlier. English is not my native language, as well as the names of my "contacts". In addition, majority of them are in two-names format and are spelled in English in wrong or unexpected manner. So it's easier for me to "teach" wizard to understand my voice pattern than vice versa.

Also disable Voice command on the settings menu and you will reclaim 1.5 MB of Ram.

You can achieve the same result by deleting the program files folder from your storage card prior to installation....at least it worked in my case!

Btw,I forgot to say that ActiveSync 4.5 works ok in my PC in work (I've tried it only with the faria 3.3) but not in my home laptop..

I have uninstalled ActiveSync 4.5 from my laptop and my mobile OS is faria 3.3 and I can't try it.

You think that this was the cause of the "turtle-like" speeds I had in my laptop?
In my laptop i notised that when a connection was first established between laptop & WM6 Wizard one of activesync drivers/processes started taking up 99% or CPU.. Maybe this helps ...

At easter when I have time I'll re-istall WM6.

The only annoying bit is the "sleep mode" which is not exactly sleeping - with no good reason my MDA wakes up and sometime stays in awake mode without going to sleep. And it becomes real issue as the phone touchs clothes and starts opening applications via Today, like task or calendar, and editing existing entries, so, screwing the info up. Also, this may be responsible for higher than expected battery drain. I tried to re-flash the ROM 3 times but always it is an issue.

Also, my Remote Desktop Mobile icon got lost in the Programs folder, so can anybody tell me which program the RDM shortlink in the "Programs" folder refers to - I tried to figure out via name, but no luck.

I recently started using custom ROMs with Most Beautiful. Before that I was using my operator's (Claro in Brazil) original ROM and Tmo (in order to get Blackberry services).

Pardon .Biz, but this ROM here is solid... Very stable and fast. Great job, Faria!!! Thank you for your great effort...

Makes me want to stick with this, If I can get BB Connect to work... By the way, if anyone here has already accomplished the BB hack in another thread, would you mind uploading the ROM to rapidshare or something? Thanks!

Faria, great ROM, I flashed my Wizard two days ago and everything is great, no problems at all, not even one. GREAT ROM!!!
I have one question: Does anyone know will, maybe, 4GB SDHC card work now on my Wizard (with WM6)? I want to buy a Transcend card (not fake eBay stuff)... And yes I know about some previous threads on this, those with serial number theory (HT605..., HT606... and so on), but I want to hear it from you guys, especially Faria. Has anyone tried this yet?

Here's the Green WM6 Theme and the Aero Theme (from mUn's ROM). While mUn's has the default theme, I don't see a .tsk for it so not sure how to pull that one out.

I have a G4 ( unlocked ) which has been running various Roms including MR Clean UK, Faria's 3.3v2 .MB etc

I want to use this new ROM,
BUT it stops on the coloured bands.
I have upped my IPL SPL so am now on 2.26 and also had WizardLove and T-mobile US to make sure everything is OK

Tried again same colour bands
I have rerun the unlocker to make sure I am unlocked

Any ideas?

Can we get Widcomm BT stack working on Faria's WM6 ROM? Lots of thread speak about superiority of Widcomm stack being better than MS's one. So, why not just use that stack as default? Is it too difficult to integrate in ROM?

Widcomm is working on my WM6 (M B edition) and It's working fine for A2DP... Also works in WM5 BTW..

I'm still wondering whether to try Faria's WM6 as MB edition is working fine for me, except for Wifi... still untested..

quick question re this rom. i installed omapclock not knowing that the preinstalled battery status did this as well.

she locked up with both installed then i removed omap and on wake up I get cannot execute windows\startup\omapclock.lnk

i assume since battery status is a part of the rom this is why i don't see this in the startup folder but i wonder where it is pointing to? i added omapclock back to a few folders and checked the battery status site and registry but no luck.

any ideas?

I'm getting a bit confused now, i just installed rom this using shelltool as my G4 is locked, it seems fine but when it first loaded up it said in 3 seconds it was going to customise, then installed loads of utils etc. then i got a choice of basic or corporate ?

Surley this can't all be included ?

Also i kept getting an ssdeamon error when it first loads up, so i removed it from startup, not sure what it does ?

I was curious myself so I tried it out with the same 2 roms.

Everything worked and ran fine just like you said, the only thing is MB & The Real WM6 have different programs....the programs from the previous rom will carry. As far as issues, you shouldn't have any....Again, it worked for me ok.

All these WM6 roms are very similar....to continue to use your backup after flashing .... is a great idea.

I concur. I've tried both 2.61 and 2.25 and I've had problems with both. I just downgraded to 2.19 and I'll stay there until the problems with 2.61 can be worked out.

Sometimes having the newest isn't always the best thing. :)

I've been running this ROM since it was released and everything is working great with the following exceptions:

1. Push eMail Notification on Standby - Like others have mentioned, I'm not getting the vibrate notification when new push email comes in while the device is on standby. Checking the vibrate option in Start->Settings->Sounds & Notifications enables vibrate when the device is on, but has no effect on the standby notification. I'd call this a bug with all of the WM6 ROMs and not specific to this one.
2. Voicemail Notification - This could be related to the radio ROM I was using (2.25 Cingular), but I received a number of voicemail messages that I received no notification on. I've downgraded to the 2.19 T-Mo Radio ROM to see if things work better. I'll post an update since I know that radio ROMs after 2.19.11 on WM6 are having issues.

Other than that, everything looks and works great. Thanks again for all of your hard work on this and your other ROMs Faria, it's very much appreciated! :)

Well been using this ROM for few days now seems like a great ROM.

I have few problems, but mostly the same as other people.

THe settings revert back after soft-reset:

THe ringtone, The Word suggestions, The EDGE disconnect/timer. Thats what I noticed so far. Otherways works great :)

Installation goes fine, everything looks good. I configure GPRS and MMS settings, then install the certificate for my Exchange server, then I sync.

The first time I installed the rom, I ended up with three separate instances of 3 or 4 emails on the device (ie it keep pulling the same mails from Exchange). Eventually Activesync went into meltdown and refused to do anything.

Today, during my second attempt at the rom, I had a similar problem. Initially Activesync told me that it couldn't sync some calendar entries, and died. From that point on it refused to sync, regardless of whether I reset the device or not. I did a "clear storage" reset, reconfigured everything, and tried again. The device performed one Exchange sync, and refused to do anything else.

I'm about to flash back to another rom, but thought I'd raise this here to see if anyone else had experienced it. My experience with this rom is a total contrast to the majority of reactions in this thread, and I'd really like to get it working.

Im using mail2web exchange service and it syncs fine, I didnt do the calendar, but mail comes over just fine, no doubles here. Check your exchanges evenlog if your the server admin.

Follow the steps ... 1 by 1 ... line for line ... be patient ... it's worth doing it right once!

If it powers up ... it can be fixed!

did you do the hard reset by pressing conn. man. , voice dial and soft reset? because i made the mistake by pressing the device off first. I had the same problem the first time...

Tinkered a bit more with my phone today and turns out it was caused by Voice Command. If you have the "Announce Incoming Calls" option selected, the ringtone gets played on your headset. When the headset disconnects or call ends, the phone will play the "cut ringtone" sound.

Question now is, is it possible to have the incoming call announced AND the ringtone playing from the handset? I don't always have my headset on so calls are easily missed because of this.

This is the same problem I had when I tried on my locked G4. So I just paid to get it unlocked and the ROM installed fine. I was probably going to get it unlocked sooner or later anyway. :)

It seems to work great with goodlink! Here's the recipe for success:

- First, you must run the goodlink backup and store it on your SD card
- Take out your SD card
- Install the rom
- Let it install the extended rom apps, load your carrier settings, and reboot
- Make sure your GPRS settings are working
- Insert your SD card and you should be prompted to restore goodlink

I am having problems getting Oggsync to sync with my google cal on this rom...is anyone else having this problem? It keeps giving me a generic "Connection Error."

I think that it might have something to do with M$ .Net v2.0 they say to install it first but it will not install...I assume because this rom already has .NET v2.0 installed.

The cab they offer from their site (http://oggsync.com) is named NETCFv2.wce5.armv4i.cab

I was curious myself so I tried it out with the same 2 roms.

Everything worked and ran fine just like you said, the only thing is MB & The Real WM6 have different programs....the programs from the previous rom will carry. As far as issues, you shouldn't have any....Again, it worked for me ok.

All these WM6 roms are very similar....to continue to use your backup after flashing .... is a great idea.

Hi there. Well i havent had any troubles at all. I just realized that OS system files are written in ROM so no matter what you do you cannot overwrite them, so the full restore wont touch those files.

:) This is goood.

Use spb backup, do a full backup, flash to another wm6 OS and restore. 1hour tops and you are trying the new rom with all your stuff there.

In Settings>System>Regional Settings I have set it to Norwegian, and in the "Region" tab the "Short Date:" displays 3.19.07 (mars 19). How do I change it too show 19.3.07?
If you look in the "date" tab... it should be dd.mm.yy (at least it looks that way on my device :-)

The problem is my activesync connection gets booted every time i get to the final update rom stage. My MDA is sim and CID unlocked. Hi,

I am surprised that people seem to be having issues with this ROM. I have tried both MBE and Underground and have found this to be by far the most stable and complete version.

We all use our Wizards differently however so I guess this is why some people are having more problems than others.

I use mine as follows:-

A diary. I use TodayAgenda daily and have found it to be about the best PDA application I have ever used. I don't think I could live without this.

A Phone. Works perfectly with the T-mobile UK Radio ROM. I have had problems with all the others. Some of the others appear to give a higher signal strength but are IMHO not as reliable. I'm on the T-mobile UK network so probably not surprising.

Sat Nav. Works perfectly with TomTom V6. I use a Sirf III GPS bluetooth receiver. I experience no lag and have never had a problem. Again used daily.

email. Used to check my email but note that I don't use push email.


That's about it really. Internet access, MMS, WiFi all work as they should but I rarely use these facilities.

I find battery life outstanding but note that I always have WiFi Bluetooth and Infrared switched off and use the CPU scaler. The exception is Bluetooth for the TomTom receiver. Fortuneately TomTom automatically turns on bluetooth when the application is launched and turns it off on exit. This does not impact battery life as I have the Wizard in a powered holder in the car.

I use the CPU scaler function in BatteryStatus. I have it set at 87MHz minmum and 260MHz maximum. 87MHz appears to be the lowest I can go before the phone starts to become unstable. I can go higher than 260MHz but this is high enough for TomTom.

I haven't made any changes to the registry apart from turning the caps lock notification on. Easily acheived using the included Registry Wizard.

In conclusion. Thank you "faria" for all your work in making the Wizard a truely excellent tool. I am due an upgraded phone soon. Looks like I will have to follow you and get the HERMES!

My device rebooted and it was automatically configuring my device ... when it says \windows\auto-config.bat not found...

And it still seems like i have my old ROM installed?

Use Total Commander to search for sddaemon and then delete the link that it finds - you don't need it

Everything all good mostly now that I got a few things worked out on this build.

But...still having the Bluetooth issue.

Setup bluetooth device in the settings, that's fine. But, it drops off as the hands-free device after a short time.

I have to keep going back into the Settings, press and hold the bluetooth device, get the context menu, and select Set as Handsfree. There is no check mark next to it already. If you select the device and it takes you to the Bluetooth setup next screen, the Check Box for Handfree is always checked and I just Save the config again.

Then, if I am lucky, my bluetooth device will beep in my ear letting you know the wizard now is mated with it, then I can go into the phone and it starts working. Sometimes I then have have to then get a phone connection, then go Menu and Turn of Handsfree, so a two step process to get the thing working again.

It is a serious nuisance. Especially when you get a call, and you got the bluetooth headset on, and you answer the phone and they can't hear you/you can't hear them, then you are scrambling to go to the bluetooth setting, hit the handsfree setting, the jump back to the phone and hopefully the headset is working before they hangup.

Never had this issue with my TMobile cooked rom WM5, headset would stay mated all the time, never had any issues until using this build.

Anybody else having this issue? I'm using a Plantronics Voyager 510+ Bluetooth headset.

I was on the MB Edition WM6, but never got far enough to test the Bluetooth and see if it would drop on that cooked ROM before I switched and flashed Faria build.

I think it might just be tweaks that Faria has made to the ROM to make programs close properly when hitting X instead of minimizing, but now my phone won't send media messages unless I sit in the messaging program until it's gone. Usually, I hit send, then press X and either use my phone for something else or put it in standby, and it still sends the message. But now, pressing x quits the message program and stops the message from being sent.

Not a major issue I know, and the rest of the ROM is brilliant so far.

That statement is not totally true, every once in a while i still get lock ups, I have a problem in the office where I lose signal and then I have issues where Edge wont reconnect once I regain a signal.

I have tried all the radio roms except 2.61.11 any luck with this radio version.

You could also hit the "red phone key", it minimizes the program.

Yup did that. each of teh 4 times i have attempted to load this rome got the black screen hit the sed button. See the HTC screen. the the tmob screen and stuck there.

well i had this rom running for about 3 days i think. tried a few workarounds for the gprs/edge drops. called t-mobile cs to get the correct settings for MMS/Web/Data. still could not get connected at all. i could recieve txt messages and voice calls but i could not do picture messages or web browsing at all. each time it would try to connect to gprs or edge i got a notice saying that "answering machine failed to connect to *.voicestream.com" and no connection. substitue * for wap, internet2, internet3 as those were the settings the cs rep told me to use. i had stock tmobile update on phone before upgrading to the real thing. not sure what else to try so i went back to tmobile stock. all is well now. really liked this rom though but lack of connection was a showstopper for me (i use gmail and gcalender sync apps).

Hello m8's.

Well i just figured out that the problem for installing new apps on the storage card doesnt have anything to do with the OS with any ROM.

The problem is only in the storage card. What you need to do is either use a sd memory card adapter or use WM5torage, activate it and plus your device. Then in a command window on your PC type:

chkdsk /f x:

where x is the letter of your card adapter / or device via WM5torage. It will fix allocation errors on your storage card so you can install apps without any problem.

Remember that using any defrag utility on your storage card will "speed up" your storage's card trasfer rate.

I know many people know this but i hope this tip works cool for people that doesnt know. :)

I have used numerous roms and when i want to minimize an application, i just hit the hangup button. But with faria's rom, wm5 or wm6, if I'm connected via GPRS, it disconnects me instead of minimizing the application. Usually from other roms, I have to hold the hangup button longer to disconnect GPRS. Do you know the fix?

There is a BatteryStatus 1.04.201 Beta 3 now out. It fixed a lockup problem I had. Also I found that by turning on the CPUscaler and just setting a min value (I use 149 Mhz) seemed to help a lot too (plus my battery is lasting even longer now (and it was already doing very well).

Downgrading to 2.26 first is generally recommended. Also, you don't need Activesync to flash a rom so I'm not too sure what you mean by that... Note that the rom WILL HANG at ~99%.. It's normal... wait about 5mins (longer if your computer is doing other things) and it will complete.
You will also need Activesync 4.5 for future synching w/ this ROM.

You have to have your phone connected via USB, but activesync itself doesn't have to be working (although that is preferable if you are upgrading from an official ROM like TMobile 2.26). If you are willing to risk flashing a custom rom when activesync isn't working (I don't recommend this as you need to figure out why that isn't working with an official rom before moving on IMO) then you have to put your phone in the bootloader screen (turn it off, and hold the camera button down while you turn it on). Once you have the rainbow screen and it shows USB in the lower left above the left soft key you can now flash the phone (even though activesync isn't working).

Again, I don't recommend doing that procedure unless you are trying to get back to an official ROM (ie: something happened when doing a custom rom and you are trying to get back to an offical base before doing another upgrade).

My MMS works, but I have the issue (which I've had on all WM6 ROMs) where pictures I receive are scaled down to thumbnail size (I can't receive a full size pic).

yes i know...the one in 3.3 was pacaged by me...the one in the crossbow was done by microsoft;) it cames as default.....

yea. the csr pointed me there as well. no avail. the error message was odd. not exact words but something to effect that the answering machine was not receiving. i couldn't believe it myself till i kept seeing it over and over :confused: . anyone else see that?

Btw,I forgot to say that ActiveSync 4.5 works ok in my PC in work (I've tried it only with the faria 3.3) but not in my home laptop..

I have uninstalled ActiveSync 4.5 from my laptop and my mobile OS is faria 3.3 and I can't try it.

You think that this was the cause of the "turtle-like" speeds I had in my laptop?
In my laptop i notised that when a connection was first established between laptop & WM6 Wizard one of activesync drivers/processes started taking up 99% or CPU.. Maybe this helps ...

At easter when I have time I'll re-istall WM6.

Hi all i want to tell you guys something! with this rom alarm clock doesnt function good. if you set alarm in clock and disable or change it it doesnt stop alarm at all it keeps screaming in the morning 6 oclock :-) so who ever did this rom it looks nice and runs perfect but with this bug you dont want to use it couse now i have to wake up every weekday at 6:10 am :_) faria who ever you are, YOU ARE DAMN GOOD man! its a nice boot screen and other things also are nice but you have to find and fix this alarm clock problem boy. besides this my pictures doesnt work if you click on it. (so I use third party software anyway)

I only have two problems with it :

Firstly, smartkey seems to having trouble at startup... After closing the error message everything seems fine, but it's quite annoying. (NOTE Smartkey is on memory card, not in \windows\ directory). Is this related to the signed cad installation fix ?

Secondly, i can't get accentued letters working. Changed sym.txt and also tried to rename it sym.0409.txt (reboot after every changes) but not solved. Did not found any reference in registry.. Did someone succeed ?

I have one question: Does anyone know will, maybe, 4GB SDHC card work now on my Wizard (with WM6)? I want to buy a Transcend card (not fake eBay stuff)... im investigating the caps notify issue......but im very busy this weekend soo....try everything you can.... i will let you know if i find the solution..... the dam thing was appering last week in a test rom.....

This has probably been sorted and everyone told about it, but I just noticed the caps notify thing not working on my Wizard so I investigated. The enableindicator DWORD in the registry is in HKLM/Control Panel/Keybd but it should be in HKCU/Control Panel/Keybd.

I think that's what's causing the problem - the key's there, just not in the right there!

I did have to install using shelltool due to using a G4 CID locked wizard, however it would be a little more helpful if you also posted the seperate extended rom upgrade here which i found in post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1172768&highlight=extended+rom. The only problem ive found so far is with the included HTC X closer utility. If you send a sms or mms and close messaging, the HTC utility also closes messaging possibly before the message has been sent. this means that the message will only be sent if messaging is opened up again. I had the same problem with SPB Pocket Plus, and the only work around for this was to include poutlook.exe and tmail.exe as exception. as the HTC closer utility doesnt appear to support exceptions, this wouldnt be possible.

Faria how's work going on the vanilla ROM?
im afraid very slow but close to finish,....this is due to the astronomical amount of PMS and emails im receiving.....this leaves no time at all to work in the rom.

Hi all i want to tell you guys something! with this rom alarm clock doesnt function good. if you set alarm in clock and disable or change it it doesnt stop alarm at all it keeps screaming in the morning 6 oclock :-) so who ever did this rom it looks nice and runs perfect but with this bug you dont want to use it couse now i have to wake up every weekday at 6:10 am :_) faria who ever you are, YOU ARE DAMN GOOD man! its a nice boot screen and other things also are nice but you have to find and fix this alarm clock problem boy. besides this my pictures doesnt work if you click on it. (so I use third party software anyway)

So I decided to do the Faria WM6 upgrade and now I have the one you see belopw .. but not without some false starts, so I thought I might tell my story so that any other noobs will have a reference point ... most important ...
DON'T CUT CORNERS
I'm a smart guy, and computer savvy (it's my job - I code and run systems) so I thought I could miss out a step or two .. like "why should I downgrade to the original OEM ROM when I already have a nice one in there" ... WRONG ... I don't know the reason, but it failed every time I tried UNTIL I reinstalled the original.

After installing the original I tried Faria's exe file - WRONG ... It loaded the ext. ROM, but the OS was still the old WM5-NL version ... with the new ext-ROM.

Then I used shelltool to install the OS .. and waited, and waited, but because I had already read this topic a zillion times, I waited, I didn't panic .. and fially it went all the way, botted up and waited a long time .. so I waited ... and now it's all fine.

Finally I installed Radio only ROM 2.19.11 ...

Why did I bother to tell this story ?? .. because I want anyone else who is trying this to realise ... before you ask any questions ... ITS ALL IN THE THREAD - Read it now .. then read it again, then work out why all those people who got it wrong did get it wrong .. then read it all again ...

THEN, and only then - flash and enjoy.

BTW - it looks great ..

I'm off now to re-install tom-tom and spb-plus .. It looks like most of the rest of my favourites are already there ... see ya's all later.

There is a BatteryStatus 1.04.201 Beta 3 now out. It fixed a lockup problem I had. Also I found that by turning on the CPUscaler and just setting a min value (I use 149 Mhz) seemed to help a lot too (plus my battery is lasting even longer now (and it was already doing very well).

Either the new version of Battery Status and or turning on CPUscaler and setting it to 143mhz(low) seems to have fixed all my lockup problems, the strange thing is I am also now getting a signal in places I never used to. My phone rang in the elevator this morning (unheard of).

There seems to be a direct correlation between signal strength and overclocking, at 260mhz my signal strength is 2 bars at 143mhz I have a full signal.

Speed Dialer Cab dowload isnt working

I just went to connect to a Wifi network - which is not something I do everyday - and when I turn it on (either via Comm Manager or phone alarm) it spins for a while and then stops without connecting.

I tested Wifi when I installed the ROM, and I remember it was working because I had to deselect the proxy setting (and I checked and it is still deselected, but that was turning the wifi on, but not allowing it to connect, now it just won't turn on)

I was browsing the mun ROM thread and it seems that some people reported the same issue there so it may not be a Faria ROM specific issue.

Anyone have any thoughts on what this could be? I am sure it is probably something simple that I am forgetting to do.

i think its actually in the extended rom which doesnt install if you use shelltool. you have to get the extended rom seperate. see this post for the extended rom of farias os, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1172768&highlight=extended+rom

Guys, I would like to inform that I installed the goodlink after upgrading to WM6.0. I did a backup going into goodlink menu before the ROM upgrade. After the new ROM installation, it automatically asked for a restore. The restore went smooth and I was up and running immediately. :D :D Let me know if anyone is faced with any issues that i didn't encounter

Okay, first, I msut say thank you again, and I LOVE this ROM. I have hit a snag though. In my voicemail, once I dail in, it does not register any keystrokes (press 1 to listen to your messages) Not sure what the deal is. I flashed my wifes phone in the same manner, hers works fine. Any help here?

WOW! :confused: This world is really funny! How is it still not working? Most times I had faced this issue, I could fix it by using that CAB and MMS Composer. Maybe you should try version 3.5.1.17. Molski has got this one on his ROM and it works fine!
BTW, even I have folder and settings, I still cannot send MMS. :( I just receive them! :cool:

Oh yes, one more thing: Registry Wizard screws up my setting for "Always On GPRS" on my Cingular 8125. When I enable the setting and select a profile and then reboot, as soon as it tries to connect it uses the "Cingular CSD" profile, which is useless. I find that in the Connections page for my profile it has changed the default connection from the proper connection to "Auto Pick". It is actually trying to dial a phone number. I can fix it by changing it from Auto Pick to my configured GPRS connection, but the Registry Wizard does not work, at least for that option.

There is supposed to be a new release of Registry Wizard compatible with Wm6 in the near future, I wouldnt suggest using any settings in it at this time. I have seen it cause problems with 3rd party internet streaming programs. Havent been able to narrow it down to the setting yet.

Hi Brian,
Just set HTC X to end by tapping and holding "X". That way a regular tap will just hide the program as usual. Or disable it altogether and use whatever utility you like.

People that see this rom and the other wm6 wifi turn on sometimes or when you click the wifi icon it spins and doesn't load and need to click again before it goes on. If you overclock commmanager in Omap Apps with Batterystatus, that would solve your problem cause it did for me. And load everytime and fast, I think it just need that extra speed to boost it. Works perfectly for me. And for all those that have problems with wm6 and thinks wm5 is pretty complete, I used to think that way until I use faria wm6 and search the forum for all the solutions. Everything works fine, just like his 3.3 solid as a rock dunno why people have all these wierd problems with installing it, I think it's due to there third party programs, or thier settings not the rom. Faria's answer questions over questions things that are repeat in the forums and not related to the rom. I give that guy great credit.

This is my first post here, but I read and re-read everything, before I started this reply.
Ok, let's get to the point.
I have a Qtek 9100 ( Wizard ). I have done everything to install this FARIA ROM. Success !! WM6 is installed and it used to work perfectly. Until a few hours ago. I tried to open the Windows Live MSG. I was expecting to try to connect via GPRS to the internet ... instead, he tried to connect via WIFI connection. The phone just freezes , and there was nothing that I could do. I have reset it, Hard Reset it, nothing. After the Hard Reset, the phone was stuck on the "Tap here to align ... screen" :confused: 2 hours later, the phone entered to the stand by mode. On wake up, I was able to re-align the screen. Ok, i was thinking that the problems are gone, but after the Office installation, the phone just rebooted, and I am now stuck on the " Enter Pin " Screen. :mad:
At any time, the green led for the wifi connection is flashing.
Anyone have any Ideas about reviving this wonderful phone ? I think that if i will be ale to deactivate the Wifi connection, the phone will work as it should.
Please help me ... I'm getting mad ... :cool:

This is my first post here, but I read and re-read everything, before I started this reply.


Hi rokata, since uve already read this before, all u have to do is get ur phone to the bootloader screen (tri-color screen) and then flash the rom from there (I am assuming this is a G3 wizard we're talkin about).
In case u didnt know, the blinking green light on the right is phone connection, the blinking green light on the left is wifi, blinking blue is bluetooth.

Might want to re-read his posting... The phone has two green leds To Summarize: Left side has two leds; Blue = Bluetooth, Green = Wifi Right side has one green led = Phone..

Reflashing would most likely be the best solution. To get into bootloader, you should be depressing the camera button and the reset button (small hole by the camera button), not the power button. The bootloader should show in 2-3 seconds.

2. Hold Camera button
3. With Camera button still depressed, press the Reset button. You should now be on the rainbow screen

You are absolutely correct, i was just making sure you werent confusing the phone led for the wifi. Its really odd that your phone boots up with wifi on...

Id reccomend, taking out your battery, wait for 10 seconds, put it back in and then booting into bootloader.

The mA value doesn't seem to update either. I reinstalled the battery status app once and that solved the problem for a little while, but now it's stuck at 99% again, after half a day of standby, a 3 minute phonecall and some calendarviewing...

I had experience upgrading to MBE. now trying Faria WM6 with shelltool upon hard reset stuck at IPL/SPL screen.

Then repaired using Love2.26 and phone is up and running.

Tried again with Faria WM6 same problem again and repaired using Love2.26 again.

Tried another time again same problem and repaired using Love2.26 then to MBE.

One more issue I've noticed: I get no notifications for incoming e-mails, whether or not my 8125 is on or off.

Mine does that too...but they do seem to show up if I get a SMS msg...it will say one new text msg and 3 new emails but not as they arive...I wonder why

I originally had IPL/SPL 2.16.0001 and the same GSM/OS as you (but from Vodafone, and in Dutch) and as I said in the post (3 pages back) - after three attempts at being a smartass, I tried it the right way and followed the instructions TO THE LETTER ... Revert to your original ROM - no other - only the original - then use shelltool to flash, then install radio 2.19.11

What version of BatteryStatus are you using? There is now a 1.04.201 Beta 3 out, and it fixed a few issues I've had. My Battery meter moves down and doesn't appear stuck.

Is your phone a g3 or g4? Faria himself put together a post on people having this exact problem. You may want to do a little research on this. I personally have a g4 and paid to have it unlocked before I could get this rom to take. I tried the shell tool twice and it froze at 96%. I believe because of the ext rom. Once I paid the $ to unlock the phone my life is so much easier now

Just did a reinstall of that version and now it seems to work..
I'll just keep the .cab file to reinstall on the SD-card for now :D

any1 encounter this problem? In the POWER setting, i set my phone 2turn itself off if idle more than 5mins (setting->power->advanced->). With this setting, I cannot receive incoming calls if I don't use the phone more than 30mins+. I call my phone, it rings but I didn't get incoming call notification and after so many rang, it went to VM.

I am having a very similiar issue with battery status. It never seems to update while the CPU usage updates like it should.

For example, just now I plugged my G4 into the USB connection on my PC and it went from 81% to 100% on the battery after only a few minutes. I unplugged the device and after about 10 minutes it still reads 100% with the power drain reading 727mW.

I tried uninstalling the BatteryStatus TD-Plugin and it won't uninstall. I go to Remove Programs highlight it and select Remove, then click Yes when I'm asked if I'm sure I want to remove it and nothing happens. It stays in the list no matter how many times I try to remove it.

Make sure that your phone is sending DTMF tones. Various menu systems operate by the tones your phone sends when you press the various keys. If your phone is not sending those tones, the menu system you called won't "hear" you. :)

I have noticed that when rebooting the G4 I don't see the GSM version on the startup screen like before. I see SPL, IPL, an empty line where GSM used to be, and then OS.

Any ideas?

Doesn't really matter, my Wizard had this issue even when I was using the official Dopod ROM.. the phone works no matter... Even in WM6 it is the same, sometimes its there, sometimes its not... but phone works fine..

Same here, after installing some programs and tweak, I still cant figure out what prog is causing it not to boot past the black screen. It just stays black on mine and if you tap on the screen, you can here the stylus taps. This will be the second times its happened. In the process of installing prog by prog to see if I can figure it out.

I've had the same issue with my G3 device Dave. I posted back on p. 50-something. I also had a wifi issue where it just wouldn't work until I soft reset twice. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Hi!

Did you unlock your device first? If you did, try a hard reset. If didn't work, than put the device into the bootloader mode by following this procedure and reflash again! It should work by now!
