One thing I just remembered, I have been changing back and forth between all the differant ROM's this week and just realized there was one part during the step by step process that I have seen alot of people talking about, it is this..............

"I get a "Cannot execute Repllog.exe" error midway during install, but ignore it"

I have seen that a statement a bunch of times in both quesitons and solutions, well "IGNORE IT" means just that...

DO NOT TOUCH THE PHONE

DO NOT CLICK ON THE OK BUTTON

GET UP FROM THE CHAIR AND GO GET A SANDWICH, OR SOMETHING TO DRINK

Like they say over and over in the instructions..

I did ignore it by clicking on the OK button 2 or 3 times and it NEVER DID WORK, and then the last time I just 'IGNORED IT" and about 30 min later I got the END MESSAGE and it was good to go.

I have been using the faria WM6 ROM now for about 1 week now. I have not had any problems at all and love it thanks for all your hard work.
I do have 1 Question when i down load from the internet how do i save it to my storage card instead of the Phone MEM .I dont seem to get the choice of where to save.

I have been on an odyssey of rom flashing for the past few months, going through all the WM6 roms out there. I have learned a lot, and flashing gets easier and faster every time I do it. Just today I came back to the "Real Thing" because I was reviewing the list of added in programs, and the list dropped things, and I realized that my list of preferred "add ins" had evolved to match very closely with what is already here! In my opinion, with the exception of missing DRM, this is pretty much an optimal WM6 rom! Along with others before me, I'd just like to thank Faria for the enormous, thoughtful, effort he has gifted to us.

installed Faria WM6 on my PDA and so far so good. except 2 problems:

1- when the device is OFF by pressing the power button, it comes back up after a few seconds

2- the baterry is running out to fast.

the best thing:

i dont understand JACK what those things on my signature mean :)

I just reflashed my T-Mobile MDA with the carrier's 2.26 upgrade and then reflashed with Faria's Real Thing to try to diagnose a funny behavior. When I'm using an internet application the phone makes a GPRS connection. When that application drops the connection my GPRS connection icon switches to disconnected. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but it is a nice feature for some apps. I'm using an IMAP client that connects to the server and then after syncing it disconnects, but should be leaving the connection open to receive new mail similar to how Direct Push works. The client is the newly released FlexMail 2007 Rev2. It may be something funny with the way they're signaling the OS about their connections.

Does anyone know of any hacks to keep the GPRS connection active until it's manually disconnected other than the registry hack for GPRS always on? So far the only workarounds are to have the Windows Live application sync to my hotmail account so I always have a connection with FlexMail or to manually go to the connections and manually initiate the GPRS connection first. Sometimes I do want to be off GPRS if I'm at a WiFi hotspot or cabled to my computer.

Today I upgraded to the Faria 'real thing' rom but I experienced a weird problem, when I try to change my ring type (at Sounds & Notifications) to anything besides ring and press ok, nothing happens. Sometimes the whole thing even jamms and I need to restart. Are there more people around who experience the same problem or did I do something wrong?

I came from a T-Mobile 2.26 rom.

It have tried several different roms, and radio versions and I still cannot connect to gprs or wifi.:confused:

I get an ip and everything seems ok - and occasionally, when i first connect I get one page, then no more internet.:mad:

I have changed the security settings on my router, deleted and setup the wifi connection settings, and even called t-mobile support (and i hate to do that):(

do you guys think my radio is dead? should i exchange this or is there something else that i should check?

i have just downloaded smart1_wm6_pp8mbs ... today and tried loading it on my imate kjam IPL - 3.08 SPL - 3.08 GSM - 02.69.11 OS - 10.1.0.811 (while trying to install there was an error on the installation it also said if it hangs for 30 mins please reset.... i have done the same but the phone hangs up at the start not proceding to the main window..... do you think the phone as bricked ..... please please help out :

I have installed this ROM on my MDA Vario (NL). Although I am happy about it I have two (probably related) problems:

- when I receive a call, my phone does not ring
- when I set it to vibrate (using the volume slider on the today screen) it will vibrate
- when going into the options screen of the phone application (to change ringtone, vibrate options etc) I cannot click ok.

I can click it (I see it 'select'), but the screen does not go away.
The phone is set to ring in the screen though, and when I click 'play ringtone' I do hear the ringtone.

As I am not at home until tomorrowevening, I am not willing to try a hard reset of the device, but I was wondering if someone else ever experienced this as well.

Also I would like to know if this is the best ROM around, or if I should try a different one.

Just to add: my rom versions are: 2.18.0.0 WWE (02/14/06) Radio 2.25.11

ex. rom Faria V5.0
IPL & SPL 2.26

I also experienced bluetooth problems (other party could not hear me, I could hear them), but I haven't tried to reproduce this.

Hello, My T-Mobile MDA (just reflashed with the Faria Crossbow WM6) is not pairing with any of my bluetooth headsets. When I initiate a pairing, the devices are found and a request for a pass code comes up. I enter the pass code that I know is correct and then I'm thold that the MDA cannot connect to the device or that the passcode is incorrect. Has anybody else seen this?

Have you unlocked your G3/4 device?

Try Flashing back your Providers original romthen scour the forum for unlocking of G3/4 devices.

It's not dead yet........

You have a G4 (based on your IPL/SPL) and you can't just go flashing roms or you will brick your phone. Read and follow this:

This seems to be a super smooth upgrade. I have only been using it for 5 hours or so, but the install went exactly as intended. My battery seems to be draining a bit slower. Reception seems to be better. It is DEFINITELY MUCH FASTER. I was using the newest upgrade directly from Cingular before this. I downgraded to Button 1.05, ran unlocker, re downgraded to Button 1.05, went to T-Mobile (which made me laugh seeing TMobile on a Cingular device) and then upgraded to Faria's ROM. So far I am extremely happy.

Yeah, I still chuckle at this step myself. Although when a rom forgets to put in splash screens, I quickly dislike looking at the T-Mobile logo on reboots, so learned to make my own Splash Only roms to cover that up ;)

Congrats on the smooth upgrade, and enjoy the better experience you will get with this over the stock roms.

I do have a serious problem here.

Ive got a G4 and followed the instructions very closely.
After installing the 2 cab-files in the main memory I rebooted, turned on flightmode and installed Faria's ROM with the shelltool.
All steps went fine.

However the phone shows the aku 3.3 rom but is not proceding, it just stays there.
I now people are anoyed by other asking about this problem.
That because in most cases instructions were not folowed.

Unfortunately in my case I DID follow the instructions but come across the same problem.
My question now is: HOW TO RECOVER FROM THIS.

Since it seems that the battery is not being charged at this stage, I only have limit time to try (I took out the battery for the moment).
I need urgently help, please help.

I think your best bet will be to start with a factory Rom. Then continue with the shell tool method. This has always worked for me little longer but works. I tried going straight from NotTooSmarts Vanilla to the new Faria Vanilla with RK and crashed. Went back to the TMOB ROM 2.26 and works like a charm

I am having issues answering calls with this rom. At first I thought it was a radio problem so I changed from 2.25.11 to 2.19. That didn't fix it.

I'm not missing calls per se, but when I go to answer (either soft button or green button) it will basically divert to voicemail. I can't figure out what is going on here. Anyone else have the same problem?

Hello:

I need a little help here. I´d tried to flash Faria´s ROM in my Wizard, it run the RUU, the image is flashed to 100% and then reboot. Til here everything is O.K., then, after reboot, i get the following message:
\WINDOWS\AUTOCONFIG.EXE does not exist! and only the OK Button.
When I do the soft reset the old ROM is still there. I tried Hard reset, and the same thing happend. Can someone give me some help

I'm very happy with this ROM, but I am wondering if there is a cab somewhere that would add the Windows Update back into it. I have the ROM kitchen, but I am not able to cook one that I like as much as this one, with the cool background and features in it.

Any thoughts or reasons why I shouldn't add this feature into this ROM?

So, I've been tinkering around with my install methods, and have managed to do something pleasant for my uses. I have:
IPL and SPL: 2.25
GSM: 2.47.11 (same problem with 2.25, 2.61, & 2.40)
OS:2.10.0.0

All running with the Faria v5.0 rom. Totally loving it, but when I try to run my Cingular Xpress mail client, the phone informs me that I'm roaming. Thoughts?

Save it to your main memory (if you have room) and cut and paste to your storage card.

Faria... awesome rom as usual.... I have distributed it to a few places with my personal recommendations after using it. I love just about everything about it.

I am having only two problems and wanted to know if anyone knows what is causing it or how to fix it. The second day I had this rom, I had 77% battery when I went to sleep, and woke up to 10%. Normally I charge my phone every few days, so this was a huge drain. The phone was off when I found it (sleeping, not powered down) and no radios were on cept for the phone. I have only installled tarascon pocket pharmacopea (medical dictionary) to it since I installed it so whatever caused it is either something I did, or some program in the rom.

My second problem is that My gprs keeps connecting. Every time I disable it, it reconnects within 10 seconds. I have no email setup, no connections that should be used and as far as i know, no plugins that would require internet. I cannot tell what is causing it to seek internet connectivity.

Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your rom Faria, and thank everyone else for helping find and fix bugs :)

1. When you flash you phone, it messes up the battery plugin, so if you flashed it with 50%, it will say 100% after flash but will still have 50%, so you need to do is put it on charge. Once its full again, you should not have any problems.

That is very interesting, and something to keep in mind from now on, but My battery was at 100% when I flashed, and after 20 minutes of use on the new rom, I recharged it to 100% again while I slept that night. I think it might be related to my second problem, but I have no way of testing this.

Someone here needs to develop a program that logs battery usage and cpu usage together to find out what processes are causing battery drain. It could check every 30 seconds and show the process list, the %cpu of each process and the current battery drain. Then it could sort it to show the spikes with teh top offending process......

More after soft reset:

ring tone set back to defult mobile ring
word comletion set back to default

I upgraded to Faria's WM6 and it looks really cool. Thanks Faria. But from that moment, the date and time setting on my MDA Vario reverts back to 9th February 2006 whenever I reboot the PDA. Also, I am unable to synchronize my outlook emails at work which used to work before this upgrade. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

After reading this forum for a while and trying to get a handle on what to expect from this excellent ROM, I finally loaded it over the weekend. ( I downloaded it the day it was released!:) ) I have run into a few issues that I need a little help with. Is there going to be a wiki page for this ROM like the last?:confused:
1. Missed calls- I have not downgraded the radio as yet, but will tonight.
seems as this happens when the phone is in "sleep mode"?

2. Active sync - running 4.5. last night phone message said I needed 4.5
searched forum, deleted device, turned AS off on phone,
re-established device, worked fine.

3. Scroll bar in some apps stops working - IE: contacts
no clue about this one, could be me!

4. Auto Time Zone change not working - provider time used to update per
time zone I was in, not working now
start>settings>phone>time zones - box is checked
tried un-checking and soft reset then recheck, no change

5. ring tone through BT headset - not a problem! this does work, I think it
may be Voice Command that allows this, V5 did not. I like
this!

6. Battery life - not a problem! I run BT all day and talk about 4hrs per day
easily. Also use Wi-Fi a little. I do have to re-charge nightly,
but always have with every phone I've owned.

I had NO problems with the install. I did change to the T-Mobile ROM (from Faria v.5) prior to the upgrade to this one. I had no hang at 99%, at least no more than normal and the total install time was less than 20 minutes. Although I am by far no expert,:D I would say that install problems are because some do not read the instuctions contained in the forums. I spent HOURS reading before my first upgrade attempt and followed the Forums to the letter, in fact I printed them out first! I hope that I can one day learn how to do these ROMs and return the contribution that others have made.:)

I am having that exact same problem. It says autoconfig.exe is missing, and it looks and acts like WM5 still. I tried downloading the extended rom pack found on page 1 and noticed that autoconfig.exe is not in that pack either.

I have suddenly lost the "tray launch shortcuts" after resetting the device.

I only see the custom apps shortcuts there now, like O2 plus, sc.lnk and battery. Rest everything else is gone.

Can someone tell me where are the settings for the same and how can I get the same one back?

I figured out my problem; I followed the CID unlocking inscructions for a non 2.25 rom phone, and didn't realize that it didn't work. I downgraded the rom, CID unlocked it, then upgraded to this rom. Here's my new problem - Did anyone else notice that it still says WM5 in the rom? If this is a real WM6 release, why does it say its 5?
Because you still haven't CID Unlocked the phone. Did you follow EVERY SINGLE STEP??? You have to downgrade with the Button ROM, run LokiWiz twice, then you have to downgrade AGAIN so that both IPL AND SPL are 1.xx. Only after that is accomplished can you move back to an official 2.xx rom and truely be CID Unlocked.

A sure sign of a non-CID Unlocked phone is that after you flash a custom rom, the custom rom isn't really there (even though it appeared to work).

So please go back to this thread and do EVERY step and check that every step worked.

Any ideas how to get them back as they're quite handy? (have tried another couple of soft resets but didn't work)

interesting mine disappeared as well a few days ago... just havnt had the time to go figure out why.. but they havent been back since.. I also was not having as many droped calls or cant hang up issue and am having that now as well ... odd

Same thing here!! Spooky??? The icons disappeared and I am thinking if PHM Traylaunch will get them back.....Any gurus to shed light on this??

make sure the links in the folder /windows/startup/ are still present to the applications you want in you system tray after reset. You can paste the links to the applications in the startup folder with TotalCommander...

Same thing happened to me, You have to click & hold the battery icon in BatteryStatus and then click Tray Icons... but it usually takes doing this twice for mine to work... don't know why, but it does.

Okay, while we're on the topic of Battery Status, let me ask the experts a quick question:

I successfully unlocked my 8125 and loaded this ROM and love it. I also liked how you could use the CPU scaler in BS and save power and could only run overclocked all of the time. For a while, I could watch the CPU speed on the Today screen drop to the lowest setting I had chosen when it was just sitting idle. However, lately, that is not happening anymore and it is staying at a higher CPU speed all of the time.

All of this seemed to happen about the time I went from a 2.25 IPL/SPL to 3.08. I ended up downgrading it back to 2.25 (stock Cingular ROM), then back to Faria's rom, but it still does not work as it did before. Now, my battery life is greatly reduced.

I did find the thread that had regsistry tweaks to enable power management, etc, but those changes have not helped either. After spending most of the weekend searching for the cure, I decided to ask you guys.

Any thoughts on this? I know that it steps down some when on standby, but it is not working at all as it did before.

My default speed is set to 234, my minimum is set to 136 and boost is set to 260. This is how it was set before and it worked perfectly. I could be in a program, close it and go to the Today screen, then watch the CPU slow down.

Okay, while we're on the topic of Battery Status, let me ask the experts a quick question:

What version of BatteryStatus are you using? There are newer versions that seem to be more stable and fix issues that were in the version that I believe was released in this rom. The one I just put in my Crossbow Reloaded rom is v1.04.202 Beta 3 Build 0195. I've seen a marked improvement with battery life and reporting of battery usage with this version. I think I noticed this morning there is now another Build released (but I haven't tried that one).

So I'd suggest you upgrade your BatteryStatus and see if the problem goes away. It seems like I saw similar behavior on earlier builds of Beta 2 where it no longer went to min and stayed at 195Mhz or similar all of the time. I haven't seen that behavior since moving to the Beta 3 builds.

I was using the version that came with the ROM before.

I actually went the Beta 3 build before I saw your message. The funny thing is, I tried using that build this weekend without success, but it appears to be working just fine now.

Don't know if it will work for you guys but i turned off my wizard, removed the battery for a few seconds and then replaced and turned it back on. My apps have reappeared. Hurrah :)

I am going to try upgrading BatteryStatus tonight and see if the TrayIcons remain stable. Have you tried it out?

My tray icons work in the latest beta build of BatteryStatus (v1.04.202 beta3).

In addition, my battery life seems to be MUCH improved with this new version. Before this version, I was burning 10-15% battery in a few hours with little usage. Today, after 5 hours, I have used 2% of my battery, and that's with me checking for email every 15 minutes.

When I ran the cab for the new beta, it tells you that it will have to uninstall the previous version first. You have to click through three prompts, I believe, before it finishes, but it does the uninstall for you.

Voice Command doesn't use voice tags but does speech recognition. The one installed in this ROM is the US version so I know people with non-US accents may have issues using it.

To try it, press the upper right button on the side of your phone (the one on the side to the right of the IE button). You should hear a beep and see a mic on the top of your screen. Now just speak a command. Try these:

"What time is it?"

"Call Joe Blow" (replace Joe Blow with the name of a person in your contact list ;)

"What is my next appointment?"

"Open Total Commander"

Hope that helps. For me Voice Command is amazing and I can't use the phone without it. But I know many in other countries don't like it (except for the countries that have VC in their languages). I believe the "get ready to X-Plore" thread had links to some of the different language versions of VC (if you want to try a different one). Note, only the 1.6 version works with a Bluetooth headset. I think the UK one is still 1.5

But I guess the nicest feature on a forum such as this, is that you can find so much information and learn very much out of the problems other already had before you.
This makes it possible for the forum members to help many people at once, without having to repeat the same information and the same tips/tricks hundred times...

I won't even comment about 3 exact same posts over 45 mins... But I will comment that unless I'm mistaken, the Qtek s200 is NOT a Wizard device, so you really need to be looking and posting in the correct forum. Don't even try to flash a rom on your phone until you know for sure that rom is made for your device. Even when you are sure, unless you understand what is at stake, what your options are, and how to recover if things go bad, you shouldn't proceed. You also need to read, read, and read... There are guides here and in the wiki for all of the different devices to help you learn how to do this. But its up to you to get yourself informed first, or you may find yourself with an expensive paperweight.

I am sorry to say that I was forced to to re-install the OEM T-mobile ROM as this one was just too unstable for my needs. This device is my work phone and I must have complete reliability. I do thank those of you who contributed to this project for a great idea. Many of the applications were very usefull and I would like to install the cabs in the T-Mo rom. i have already installed the latest version of battery status and omap clock and would like to install the x-button closure app and the memory icon on the tray. I have bid on ebay for MS-VoiceCMD. I truly loved this ROM and had hoped it would suit my needs. I will continue to search these forums for ideas and maybe even try cooking a ROM of my own one day! If anyone could point me in the direction of the above mention apps, I would be greatful. I searched the ftp and the forums last night for hours, but could not seem to locate them.

under the regional settings, make sure that you have the lower case hh:mm:ss and not HH:MM:SS, took me a few minutes to get that one too.

So far the phone itself works really well, making calls, receiving calls, text messages.

There are issues with the WiFi and the cellular GPRS internet. Neither one of these works very well. I have a lot of trouble with the WAP settings for T-Mobile and connecting to the wireless networks at home or work.

It needs some kind of task manager like Magic Button, which was unstable on this release or the task manager Dell had on my Axim.

If you don't mind intermittent internet access this is a pretty good ROM for the 8125 running on T-Mobile. If Internet access is important then leave this ROM alone. The WiFi is way to screwy.

Any one know of a stable WM6 ROM for the 8125 running T-Mobile?

My Crossbow Reloaded v1.5 is stable, built off of the Faria Vanilla base and then with apps similar to what is in this build. I'm typing this over WiFi on my phone (no connect issues). For me, this is (so far) the most stable WM6 rom I've been on. The Faria Vanilla is a good base and made this possible.

please dont rip me for asking this. i am a g4 noob, i had a g3 and flashed it and many friends g3 wizards but i had a crash with mine during an ipl flash and its dead. i had someone give me a g4 and i liked this rom, will this work with a g4 or do i need to edit it to remove any thing first

It should work fine for G4, but I think earlier posts indicated it wasn't a smooth process (go back and read the first 4 or 5 pages as I recall this came out shortly after the release). [...EDIT...] I just looked and its around page 15 that some of the G4 questions start about issues with shelltool.

A soft reset doesn't require setting your phone back up. You can either turn your phone completely off, or use the stylus to press the button inside the reset hole on the right side of the phone.

I used the SoftkeyApplet and no change - just have to locate it in the registry.
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys

112 is the left softkey
113 is the right softkey

Just set the Open to point to a valid app. Then set the default entry to be what you want to show up above the softkey.

This is all SoftKeyAppletEx does, so if that didn't work, doing the registry won't make a difference either. Make sure the app you are pointing to is really there.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that I would toggle off and on flight mode and do several soft resets (so far no luck in correcting) and if in a day or two it did not fix; I would be forced to do a hard reset (hard living without being able to erase voicemail).

Thanks for the location - worked by fixing it. When I used the software it created a value pointing to HTCCalendar instead of just Calendar. Not sure why, but happy it is fixed.

I just want to thank Faria for this sweeeeeeet WM6 ROM. It runs great on my wizard. Also thanks to Dr. P and vippie for the guide to unlock CID.

Also, just a reminder. If you get the message autoconfig.exe missing, that means your phone is not CID unlock. so go search for it.

DotFred's TaskManager dosen't auto start. This looks like two microchips side by side, two grey 3-d rectangles with gold strips on the sides.

To clarify it's like a short cut that gets you to Start->Settings->System->Memory->Running Programs in one tap.

This ROM allows ringtones and VC to be heard through the Bluetooth headset.
Can anyone tell me what the registry edit settings are to allow this?. Also, I belive the above referanced short cut (memory) can be added using Phm tray launcher. I have not tried it as yet, so I am not completely sure.

I am a n00b and I tried to search all over for an answer, but can not find it. I flashed the faria WM6 ROM to my t-mobile mda successfully. Everything runs great except windows live has trouble connecting. Does anyone have a solution or can you point me to one?

Remove the password on your wizard (start -> system -> settings -> lock), if you use that, the device will keep on turing on by itself, this problems seems to be there in all WM6 rom's I tested so far...only solution so far is to not use a password.

PocketPlus 3 is compatible with WM6, no problems so far, make sure it is installed on build in memory, doesn't work very well on storage card.

PocketPlus 3 is compatible with WM6, no problems so far, make sure it is installed on build in memory, doesn't work very well on storage card.

Have the same setup (AS 4.5, Outlook 2003) as you but w/o the problems... One thing I would suggest is setup your regional settings and set your Home & Visiting Times to the same time zone prior to syncing... Turning off Time synchro and Auto change time zone and clock might also make a difference...

I think the time was still weird after syncing once but they went back to normal right after a reset...

Just to say thanks for your hints, tried step by step, but did not work. - I didn't have internet access for a while and will now try the updated version. Hope this problem is history now...

soooooooo i ran the ROM on my g4 and it "installed" in 2 minutes flat which didnt seem right. so after hard rebooting the phone it hits the t-mobile splash screen with the ipl and such and wont go further. even worse, active sync can't find it... someone help, please. at this point the basic t-mobile software update is sounding like a good idea!

Hey.

What you can do is flash to the latest operator rom available, in your case the t-mobile one. When the update fails it's probably due to the fact your phone is still CID Locked. You can unload if, for a small amount of $$ at imeicheck.co.uk if i'm not mistaken. Otherwise you have to look in the forums, the site is mentioned somewhere in there.

hi everyone,

first of all, i want to thank you faria for this awesome rom! ive been playing with it for a day and it seems great except for 2 issues:

1. sometimes when i soft reset with USB connected, it freezes at the second screen that says Windows Mobile

2. which radio version should i be using? ive tried..
faria 02.69.11
cingular 2.25.11
tmobile NL 2.19.11
tmobile 2.24.10

i have been getting these from the xda ftp so if anyone can point me where to get others, then please do so.

It specifically says in the first post that you can't run this rom (or any WM6 rom for that matter) with an IPL AND SPL of 2.xx or higher. So until you fix that, there is no telling what problems you are going to have.

You ill need to do the Lokiwiz to do the CID unlock (read the stickies) then upgrade to an official rom like the T-Mobile 2.26 rom. That will put your IPL/SPL at 2.xx. Then you can flash this rom and I'll lay odds your locking up issues will be gone.

As for which radio, it depends on what network you are on. If you are on Cingular then you pretty much have to use teh T-Mobile 2.19 UK rom (never tried the 2.19 NL one) or you will miss calls and SMS messages. Other networks have success with newer radios, so you just have to test them (but 2.19 UK seems to work for about everyone (but doesn't get a strong signal like others).

After i installed CB-AIRAF.exe (faria's link in this thread) windows mobile six does not recognize my minisD card on my MDA Wizard.

I tried the same card in my sprint ppc6700 and it was recognized right away.

my phone always was able to read the card before i upgraded to this latest edition from faria.

any ideas?

Yes, you are flashing an official rom to mainly upgrade the IPL/SPL (think of it like your BIOS on your PC). But in addition you are also laying down a stable base rom to work off of. You will wind up with the T-Mobile 2.25 Radio in doing this too.

If you are with Cingular and you are going to run a WM6, then you should only run the T-Mobile 2.19 UK radio (if you are with another carrier, you'll just have to try to find what works for you). On WM5 the Cingular 2.25 radio was considered a good radio.

You can't backup your programs and system stuff on WM5 and restore onto WM6 (for that matter, you can't do this from one WM6 rom to a different WM6 rom). You can use a program like PIM Backup to save off your call logs, sms, mms, and stuff like that and restore onto WM6, but you will need to reinstall your progams and stuff (sorry, one of the hazards of flashing a new rom). I keep most of my key cab files on my SD card so I can easily put them back on my phone after a new flash.

Hey folks!

This rom is fantastic. I have owned several PPC (hp, dell) but the phone editon is new to me and man have I been missing out (8125 G3). But great work on this rom. This is the 3rd WM6 rom I have tried and it looks like it will stay a while, may be a whole month ;). I initally had WiFi issues but a reflash later it was all cleared up.

ok, so hats off to the developers of these great roms.
I have been playing with my phone for about 15 hours with yesterday and today, and my wife starting to hate me but what can I say I am a tech head and love messing with technology. Now for the question at hand... I have played with many of the features and so far I am very impressed but I have a few isues to work out. First it was my cingular GPRS setting that were wipped on the flash, this has been resolved with a GPRS cab i got from another post. Now I have a wi-fi problem, everytime I turn on wi-fi and my phone goes on standby from not using it it shuts wi-fi off and when I turn back on from standby I have to wait for the wi-fi to reconnect everytime. Another problem conected with the wi-fi is that when the phone comes back from standby I get the following error "cannot execute\windows\nrdwakeup.exe" and if I try to access the phone seting it says the "phone is not ready please retry in 15 seconds" or something like that. I Also get this message if I try to open sim manager. Also if anyone can tell me how speed up my internet cause its slow as dirt right now and I just flashed the Cingular 2.25.11 Radio to see if it improves and no luck.

I know this is a lot but any help would be great!

I did search the topic, but nothing useful found. And there is no Wiki on this ROM either (

I installed this ROM several days ago and some things drive me crazy :)

Still the ROM is great. And If I can fix these several Issues I'll be completely HAPPY =)

1) how to DISABLE SyncTime? It syncs every 12 hours (I think) and changes my time to ~ 14 april, + 12h. I have my morning ringer ring at 7 in the evening, and I don't get up at all in the morning!!! T_T

2) how to LOCk the keypad? The in-built lock.. how should I say.. Locks MOST of the keys, unlike the old versions. I can have my phone in the pocket, with the headphones on, and if someone calls me, it's really easy to hang-up the call accidentally, 'cause even with the locked keys, the "red" button works!! WTF, Microsoft? )))) Same thing with Voice Command button. Well, this is not a huge issue already, but still an issue, I guess. (

3) Sometimes the screen turns on for no reason at all. For example if the phone connects to GPRS to get mail, it turns on the screen )))

These are probably the main issues.. Everything else can be lived with )

I'll be happy if someone helps )

P.S. I just moved from the previous Faria WM5 AKU3.3 ROM.. Everything I said here, worked perfectly good in there (

At work, I have no signal from T-Mobile. Upon leaving work, i would receive my 4 or 5 SMS messages throughout the day. Now I only receive messages when I have a signal and lose all the others. Any ideas.

Welcome to the wonderful world of ROM flashing. To get WM6 on your device, you are going to need to check out a few places here.

First, check out the wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Wizard) here.

Then, more specifically you'll need a CID unlocked phone and can do that with the instructions here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435) (G3) or here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480) (G4). You will learn more about G3 and G4 versions of your device as you read. Here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284292) is where you can learn which device you have.

Then, go here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=356) to see and decide which WM6 version would be best for you.

Take your time with looking and learning and you'll have a lot more fun with your phone. :D

1) sms problem, it only occurs when my sms is gonna be more than 2 seperated sms, after I have exceeded 1 sms it is stated (2 messages), now the issue: after I have exceeded 2 sms it is shown (5 messages) ??? that wouldnt be a problem, but sms drafted like this never reach the addressee!

2) i am using the RK version of Faria's WM6, but nevertheless i have switched the regional settings to German, but dates e.g. in the file explorer etc. are still in the wrong format 5.31.07 instead of 31.5.07

3) I have been trying to install an individual keyboard layout for a couple of hours. Well, I read that the msim.96.dll.0409.mui has to be replaced but there is not such a file (yes, i can see even all hidden files etc.) - therefore I simply copied the file in the directory but assumingly nothing has changed anything. The only files i've got are msim.96.dll and msim.dll - and of course they are in the ROM, means no overwriting or deleting possible. Probably I gotta add anything to the registry to refer the keyboard to the new file msim.96.dll.0409.mui

Maybe (2) and (3) are linked?

First of all i have to say hi to this forum. I've been using it for a while, but this is my first post :)
Second: Faria u're the man... WM6 ROM rocks! thanks for the effort.

Now to my problem: I can't use SIm contacts :confused: . Can't find anything to set them up so that they will appear in the "Contacts". Does anyone have a clue how to "see" them without copying them to the Contacts.

edit: Second problem i have encountered is with my bluetooth handsfree device (Nokia BH-200). On WM5 official ROM it worked fine without any problems but lately i can't seem to get it working. When i turn it on and turn on BT on my qtek it is OK but the connection "breaks" in a while and i have to go all over again. Does anyone have similiar problems?

I have a MDA G3 UNLOCKED(SIM & SUPERCID). I was previously Running X's Rom. When I Upgraded to this ROM All was well until the Upgrade.... I get a

I've flashed many romz and Never ever had this Problem ? ? ? Any Help ?

I love this rom is fast and great. however I can't send or receive mms text. I downloaded the cab to fix this and still I shows that i have mms text coming in but 0% downloaded and It just sits there. I am running radio version 2.21 from t-mobile.

I'm definitely missing a LOT of calls with Faria. It seems like it's calls from different area codes than my phone that aren't getting through. Just had a full mailbox of people trying to interview me, and since I've had Faria, about a week, have only been notified of 1 voicemail.

Throwing the 2.19 radio on now.

Actually I see that this already uses 2.19.. I guess 2.61 it is..

2.19UK isn't flawless for Cingular/AT&T, I have had plenty of missed calls and SMS with it.

I am trying to sync google calender with it, have tried several programs with it but all of them says that i need to install .net cf version 2 but when i try to install that on my wizard it says upgraded version is already installed. Can some one please help me with it.

Wasn't 2.26 doing better on Cingular US?

Because i'm not really sure 2.19 is a US radio.
I think it works great in UK, DE and NL

I know that i'm not ever going to put any other radio than 2.19 on my NL G1.

I see in other post a rom with the new Touchflo files (Cube and new other files), it's possible to add Htc Touchflo Cube funtionality in this rom?

Yes there is a thread where you can download packages to include into Faria's WM6 Crossbow Kitchen. Or install onto The Crossbow RT. But i would not advice that, and many others as almost any of these new apps will slow down the device to a stand still unless you cook it into the rom yourself.

In the wiki there is a 2.47.11 radio, I have been using since I flashed to a wm 6 rom. I tried 2.19 and it was terrible, so I tried the 2.47.11 radio. I have had no missed calls, sms and mms. Wakes like it is suppose too.....

USB device not recognzied. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it."

I am running the rom and radio listed here

This is the message I get when connecting my 8125 to my computer.....worked fine yesterday

I tried re-installing as4.5....rebooting both....no dice

I tried the suggestion that HTC provided but it did not work for me.

Thank you for your inquiry

I see how this can be frustrating, especially since you've had to reinstall Activesync on your computer time and time again. The drivers for this device are actually a part of the Activesync installation.

There are a few things that we can do to resolve this issue. What I would recommend is first on the handheld go to Start, from there select Programs, from there select the Activesync application. Once the application is opened go to Menu, then select Options. Once the Options screen opens up you should see any pre-existing Activesync connections. Please select any connections that you see and delete them.

Once that has been completed on your handheld please go to Start, then select Programs, from there select Accessories. From the following set of options select USB to PC. Once this is open if you see that Serial is selected please change it to RNDIS. If you see that RNDIS is selected please change it to Serial.

After this has been done we will need to uninstall the Activesync software one final time. One thing to note is after uninstalling the software you would also need to delete the associated folders. This can be done by going to the My Computer icon on your desktop, from there you would select Local Drive C:, then select the Programs Files folder. Once this folder is open look for a folder that reads Microsoft Activesync. Once your located it please delete it. Also empty it from your Recycling Bin.

Once you've done that please download and install Activesync 4.5. This can be downloaded by going to www.pocketpc.com. From this site please type in Activesync 4.5 in the search windows on the top right hand side of the page. The first search result should be the download.

After you have installed this software on your computer you should be fine.

Also remember to check www.htcwiki.com for troubleshooting information in the future when having issues in the future.

I had the same problem yesterday.. all I did was restart the desktop.. and then soft reset the 8125 then waited a few mins and tried again.. and it worked fine..

I updated to the 2.19 uk radio rom (I have a US Tmobile MDA/Wizard), haven't had any problems (i think web speed is better).

i still have issues with not receiving calls while GPRS is active, but that is a known issue with this release of faria's wm6
This is a known issue with T-Mobile service. ATT is set up to have the phone call take priority--T-Mobile does not.

Unless you are willing to do this yourself, you may be waiting a LONG time. I'm not sure if Faria is doing anything else with the Wizard after this release was done.

Just take this rom, throw it into the extract area of the Core Kitchen and pull it apart. Unfortunately, Faria did tricks with this rom (as I seem to recall) so it won't come out in a nice clean set of OEM and SYS folders but instead in one single SYS folder, so it will take work to pull it apart. I seem to recall I extracted this rom after it came out, saw how much work it would take to do anything with it, so I walked away from it and stayed with the InGeNeTiCs version which I liked better anyway...

Faria seems to have put all files on the one dsm file. This means everything is incorportated into one folder titled "By Faria ;)". Its not that hard to reverse, just use intuition and corresponding dsm files from another rom. I rebuilt faria's rom into packages so I could reheat it but I fully concur with mfrazzz, i prefer working with the suspect InGeNeTiCs build.

Damn I love this ROM!!! All that I want, nothing I don't, nice and stable and I can finally use my Nextlink Spider. A2DP is nothing short of AWESOME!

Oh, I did have to reinstall BatteryStatus again, since I couldn't select the Options page after the upgrade. But that's all...

That's my 2 day experience so far :)

I runned the program and it worked but the moment the customization screen came on the was an error that said there was no auto config for my cell phone...do u think u kno what the problem is...my cell phone is the cingular 8125

Hello I have a CID locked G4 HTC Wizard(T-Mobile MDA) and am trying to flash this rom to my wizard. When I use the RUU I get an error at 99% and have to reflash the original rom provided by T-Mobile and then when I use shelltool(I installed enablerapi.cab and also cert_spcs.cab and restarted the device like instructed to do), I get stuck on the boot screen and this is what I get.

IPL: 2.26.0001
SPL: 2.26.0001
GSM: 02.25.11
OS: 2.18.0.0

If anyone has an idea of a way to circumvent this issue, please help me because I really want to install this rom.

Know issues and recommendations;

No performance tweaks needed in my opinion
I recommend over clocking the rom [battery-status] to 247 MHz instead of applying performance tweaks ,performance tweaks take away ram…….were over clocking comes at very little loss of battery especially if you use the auto scale function.
THIS rom has no parts from any current wm6 rom,this is a real WWE wizard rom ,all the parts needed to make it as a full rom were sourced from my 3.3.
Battery status cannot be configured from today options control panel…….but you can configure it by pressing and holding the battery icon in battery-status today plug in.

the rom may be bit slower because i did not applied any performance tweaks....plus the rom is fully loaded so we cant compare to other roms.....i mean this roms has everything working.....its like comparing a loaded truck to an empty one..
the device may crash when it reboots for the first time at the welcome screen if you don't tap it straight away....just reset the device with the stylus and it will be fine. this is because there is apps loading in the background.
a vanilha version will be released soon.

Hey, nice ROM. Good job. Only problem I have so far is that the Tray Launcher with the Battery Status won't stay in the tray. They disappear and I have to reactivate the Tray Icons and I have to do it twice. Other than that it seems pretty good. Running Radio Rom 2.19.

Here's an update. I removed BatteryStatus and installed the latest. That seems to have fixed the problem. Good signal, fairly good speed. I would say that this one is pretty good. Thanks.

Ok I am still having a problem installing this rom. I have tried everything under the sun short of CID unlocking my device.

I am using a CID locked G4 HTC Wizard, QTEK 9100, T-Mobile MDA, whatever you want to call it.

I really really want to install this rom but just cant seem to get it to work.

Somebody, anybody, please help me. I'm getting desperate.

hi , this is agreat rom and also super fast

the problem i have is that it does connect to the grps and the only way to connect is to do a soft reset and then immediately connect to the gprs once disconnected then again the device has to be soft reset

any solution would be highly appriciated

With this rom I can't syncronise the calendar of Outlook with the calendar of my ppc. I only can syncronise the contacts.

I get the wrong date error and the sync calander problem too.

I found the date corrects itself if you turn off the sunctime app (take of daylight saving) but every reboot it turns itself back on.

this effects both outlook (push email via exchange, and pop3) and sms stuff

What's sunctime app? How do i turn it off?

What do i have to do to sync the calendar? It's very important for me.

I mean sync time, its in the accessories part I think.

I could not get the calander to sync, well I did with a load of messing about but it crashed the rom, and made the cpu hit 100% constanty.

I think its great rom!

I have problem.

I tried to flash nbd 8.3 to faria rom ( one with aku 3.3 and one with aku4)
And in both cases i get stucked at 99%. It didnt work several times.
So its that, cause is my g4 phone cid-locked?? I dont know if it is.

Plese, tell me, cause i would like to have a newer AKU.

Because you still haven't CID Unlocked the phone. Did you follow EVERY SINGLE STEP??? You have to downgrade with the Button ROM, run LokiWiz twice, then you have to downgrade AGAIN so that both IPL AND SPL are 1.xx. Only after that is accomplished can you move back to an official 2.xx rom and truely be CID Unlocked.

A sure sign of a non-CID Unlocked phone is that after you flash a custom rom, the custom rom isn't really there (even though it appeared to work).

So please go back to this thread and do EVERY step and check that every step worked.
