hello everyone,
I have been using Faria on my XDA for some time now, tried three different radio roms: 2.40.11, 2.47.11, 2.69.11. However all of them have some communication problems, missed calls, missed SMSs, the subway problem which was mentioned here before.

I know it's hard to perfectly match the radio rom to the provider's services, but I was just wondering if any of you guys use FIDO (Rogers) networks and with which radio versions?

Hi, I tried a lot of times to have crossbow in my qtek 9100, first time frozen at 99% of conclusion, then I had to reload wizard love rom and then once again, after trying upload .nbk with shell_tools... Putting back on the love rom and then restoring the factor rom. My first playing with this doesn't show me confortable to continue unless someone could help me to find out what can be happening here.

I finally managed to flash the rom for the first time late last night. I'm greatful to have WM6 faria crossbow :)

I think I noticed a couple of bugs today though:

1) Once a call is connected, the numeric pad does not work:
When I dial in to check voicemail, to delete the voicemail, I would need to press the numeric pad 7 but none of the numbers on the phone number pad work. I hear the number tone but nothing seems to transmit back the instruction for the deletion of the voicemail, or to replay it etc.

2) Call will not hang up:
Sometimes when I am finished with the call, I press the End button and it will not end the call. I hear it clicking and see it change color so I know I am pressing the button but it does not execute the End of the call.

3) sddaemon.exe cannot be opened.
On every soft reset, an error box pops up stating sddaemon.exe cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found.

4) Autorun OEM:
When I try running the Autorun.exe OEM, it starts installing Extended_ROM \Phonelight_skin_tmo_us_1124. it says it does not exist.

5) Speed Dialer from 3.3:
The hypertext link for the Speed Dialer from 3.3 "http://forum.xda-developers.com/faria-speed-dialer.cab" The page cannot be found.

Hope this info is helpful. Not sure if there is a newer version, I am new to this, just wanted to share my findings (perhaps I installed it wrong).

this rom is hella old, not saying it's no good, just stating there have been quite a bit of updating/editing since this was last edited back 3/14/07. I would suggest trying a newer build

I love Farias roms because they are so easy to set up on networks other than just Cingular and us Tmobile,

I was curious if there were any of his network settings set up in a cab. form, or a version of his cab. thats built into the ext. rom.

I guess I could maybe just reflash back to Faria's rom and extract the settings one by one but was just curious if anyone has already done so. Im not a noob and have searched and searched but havent come up with anything.

any help would be greatly appreciated and would be awsome to add them to the Wiki

nice to c that u are happy with faria's rom,but as it's a pretty old cooked rom and faria is not cooking any more of wizard roms,.he has moved onto Hermis section,although we all miss him and his good work,hope he'll make a come to wizard section soon.
but,meanwhile,i'll suggest u why dont u try some of the newer roms cooked,i assure u that u'll see a major performance and speed difference than this,just try out like :- Xm6r3,NBD9.1,TNT5.0 and the latest TNT Professional + HTC Home.:D

G4 huh! How come u know it's a G4,cuz u have not posted any details of ur PDA,what we need to know is the IP/SPL..? Plz post ur PDA IPL/SPL..? here.
Is ur Pda IPL/SPL something like 2.26 or 2.26.0001 ?

Anyway if u say that it's G4,than Lokiwiz02b is useless,u cannot unlock a G4 device with Lokiwiz02b.only G3 devices can unlocked with lokiwiz.
But for G4 devices there's a different method 1.SoftSPL & 2.Hard SPL to unlock and upgrade,plz follow the thread below for complete guidance and method,hope it'll help u to upgrade.But if u still feel any problem,u can pm me anytime,good luck :)

I flashed this rom into my Wizard and everything runs perfectly.

But I have a littel bug that are annoying me! When I try to sync the mobile with the computer 3 odd things happen:

1 - Mobile date is set to 21th August
2 - Calendar cannot sync, giving error messages both in computer and mobile (saying that sync cannot be completed but with no causes)
3 - Contacts with birthday set, that add an appointment in calendar, are not add to mobile. I think this error is related with the above error.

Any ideias about this?

Always post vital data of your phone along with your question enabling others to verify the status of your phone.Post IPL/SPL...? OS version...? Make of the Phone...? Carrier...? SIM/CID unlocked or not ?only after verify the status of your phone some one can help and advise you accurately.let me advise you that to upgrade to any wm6 custom build roms,your phones requires SIM/CID unlock,if you have gone through this SIM/CID unlock procedure,then it's ok,you can upgrade to wm6,otherwise first read and understand how to sim/cid unlock your device,only than think of upgrading.

hmmmm,another example of not reading and understanding the method of upgrading :( that's why it has been advised hundreds of time to read,read and read and fully understand the procedure of unlocking and upgrading.
your phone is CID locked and you flashed a custom build rom,so got a bad flash, consider yourself a lucky man, you didn't brick your phone,as it goes into bootloader mode (multicolored screen).
Now to recover,download the official carrier's rom from the official web site and flash it it while in bootloader mode,it'll start up the phone,once it's back to it's default status,than read the thread about 'unlocking' the phone,do it only then upgrade to any wm6 custom rom ,to unlock your device read the thread below :)

I have a lot of troubles with teh internet conection via wlan, cause teh first time i navigate, nothing was wrong, but then nothing works even accuweather, windows live, and interent explorer, i had a conection established with wi-fi but no internet, it sucks! and a little trouble... no IR.

i have reed a lot of threads about faria's rom, it seems that the rom needs some things that i haven't, like aku 3.3 a radio version etc etc.

Oh i have touchflo with this rom nbd 7.5 de jpmche.

Do you know if i can put a new rom that you said its better like nbd 9.x or this pro htc home etc where can i found it.

Hi everybody.

I`ve been triyng to update several time to wm6 with mary ROM`s. In the begginning my problem was that the installation in the wizard stops with the message \windows\autoconfig.exe does not exist! but I understand that my device was lockcid... I unlocked, with the lokiwiz02b, installed the tmobile 2.26 but when I try to install the WM6, the update stops al 99% in the ROM update utility. I was looking for an answer but I can`t find it. Can anyone help me please??

You need to flash the original rom. The Device in that condition can accept only the original rom if it is Cid locked.

But I tried a couple of times again: I entered bootloader (hold camera button and soft reset, hold the button until rgb appears), plugged in usb and go! It gave me error messages two or threetimes, I didn't give up and finally there you go it works! Hell knows whats going on inside that chip, but we have to rule it! Remember to charge your battery well up before!

It is always your own responsibility, but I didn't know when I flashed my HTC wizard, I just gave it a go. The software must recognize if your device is invalid. If you are able to flash it then you're fine.

i copied my old call log (too long one !!!!) from a windows 2003 se magician to wizard with WM6 it copied sucessfully but when i make my first call the phone deletes most of call history leaving only the last 10 days call log

I tried to update my Cingular 8125 with the ROM now I the phone is only displaying the 3 color screen.

The IPL and SPL are both at 3.08.

Can someone help me out?

I found the fix for my phone I was able to install the ROM by holding down the Camera button while I ran the Wizard Button ROM install.

I have deperately tried to flash my mda vario G4 (cid locked) to wm6.
ipl/Spl 2.21.0001 gsm 02.25.11 os 2.26.10.2

I have tried soft spl and hard spl, win xp just giving me app error concerning cecopy.exe. And I have tried to flash with ruu and shelltool with no result. I have also tried lokiwiz02b and use wizard service tool, not sure if any help of those either.

I have flash it now to wizard love rom. Now i have succeed to farest with this faria rom, it starts to download, but then stops with error: autoconfig.exe does not exist. Does that mean it is still locked ? What should I do now ?
I have also tried to tried flash back to t-mobiles offical rom with no luck, reports error 294 vender id.

Well,as you say its a G4,its advisable to first learn how to upgrade to any wm6 roms. A G4 phone cannot be CID unlocked like a G3 phone and upgraded.There's a different method to upgrade,Read and fully understand the methods 'HardSPL' and 'SoftSPL' as stickies in the G4 forum.

What is the error? If you ask for help, you need to provide more information. You provide the SPL is 2.22.0001 so your device is g4 - did you CID unlock it? You need to CID unlock your phone (superCID) in order to flash any rom.

If you are new to the whole rom flashing thing I recommend you read:

Note: CID Unlocking is not the same is SIM unlocking.

I have a qtek s200 with english wm5. Originally my device had wm5 greek version because i bought it from Greece, but i sent it for service in the Uk and they put the english version. my phone numbers are:

SPL 2.20.0001
GSM 2.19.11
OS 2.20.7.34
i've searched a lot but i'm confused with all these roms and upgrades.
I would ike to know: 1)if my phone can be upgraded, 2)if yes which versions are best for my device and 3)some lworking links for those files.

Faria has stopped making wizard Roms and has stopped answering this thread and this a very old rom,now there are latest and newer wm6 and wm6.1 roms,its better you upgrade to the latest roms.

hello I tried to upgrade my SDA and it exited at 2 percent. tried the recover wizard. but it did not do anything.

Now the phone is showing the 3 color display, I cannot do anything anymore. If I run the upgrade software again it does not detect my phone anymore :( (probably because it shows the 3 color display)

what can I do? :( I cannot use the phone anymore

Sorry about this, I have searched the first 15 pages of this thread but simply don't have the time to scour the remaining 144!

I am completely new to flashing ROMs etc, so much so that when I read about cooking them I got the pots and pans out! :)

This is the first time I have tried to flash a new rom to my wizard, and, I have to say, this ROM of FARIA's appeared idiot proof to install... and thats saying something coming from me!

However, on completing the install the device reset as expected and appeared exactly the same as before. It still tells me I am running WM5.0 and nothing appears to have changed.

Is this right or am I missing something here?

I've been unable to connect to my corporate network using this ROM.

The setup is WPA/TKIP/PEAP with root certificates installed on the PDA.

The wifi connection manager just keeps prompting me for the password.

When using the SNN diamond ROM I can connect but there is a but in WM6.1 that keeps sending the same email multiple times so I downgraded from WM6 to WM6.0.

Has anyone run into this?

and the other one is like 2.54
but ive got the wrong wm6 installed, this one is english and i must have netherlands.
i also want to download the t-mobile update that the ipl goes up to 2.54

i have an vista and an xp pc so can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

While I will agree that this was a great ROM of its time, it is very aged now and I suggest that you take a look at some the newer 6.1 ROMS.

This ROM is giving me a hard time, first of all it brings up a sddaemon.exe error everytime I start up, and I cannot under any circumstance connect to my phone with ActiveSync. I tried re-installing, I even tried connecting to it in Vista with the WMDC to no avail. I know it's the ROM because before I would be able to connect through ActiveSync without a problem.

Now I can't even flash a better ROM to my phone, unless there is another way to flash ROMS besides USB.

You can reflash from bootloader mode. Hold camera button, reset hole. That'll get you into bootloader and connect, flash.

as i can see, you are using a VISTA basedPC, perhaps you sholud try using a XP based PC

But when I'm in bootloader mode the RUU won't connect to the PDA since an ActiveSync connection is not established. I do my flashing on XP anyways but even trying to connect on Vista doesn't work.

It still gives me invalid update tool :( even though now it's connecting to ActiveSync... this is so frustrating

Know issues and recommendations;

No performance tweaks needed in my opinion
I recommend over clocking the rom [battery-status] to 247 MHz instead of applying performance tweaks ,performance tweaks take away ram…….were over clocking comes at very little loss of battery especially if you use the auto scale function.
THIS rom has no parts from any current wm6 rom,this is a real WWE wizard rom ,all the parts needed to make it as a full rom were sourced from my 3.3.
Battery status cannot be configured from today options control panel…….but you can configure it by pressing and holding the battery icon in battery-status today plug in.

the rom may be bit slower because i did not applied any performance tweaks....plus the rom is fully loaded so we cant compare to other roms.....i mean this roms has everything working.....its like comparing a loaded truck to an empty one..
the device may crash when it reboots for the first time at the welcome screen if you don't tap it straight away....just reset the device with the stylus and it will be fine. this is because there is apps loading in the background.
a vanilha version will be released soon.

YOU MUST HAVE A BOOTLOADE VERSION 2XXX OR ABOVE...

as you can see you have a boot loader 1xxx you must upgrade to 2xxx or above!
now you need to flash the official rom from you device,best it would be an aku2 official rom, then upgrade the bootloader and radio,after that you can flash the rom.

sorry mate,it was my laptop I dont know what hapened but crashed somhow,after all reinstaling XP was the ultimate solution,I think some drivers did not like,now it s okay Ive reinstaled wm5 and then again cid unlock,and voila!good software but I thinck Ill port back wm 5 I dunno why sound on the phone its blurry like.sorry again!

AS you know currently Imate site is not available to download the required rom. So I thing it will be easy to download rom from HTC site, if there is any HTC pocket pc same like i-mate Jamin.
