Know issues and recommendations;

No performance tweaks needed in my opinion
I recommend over clocking the rom [battery-status] to 247 MHz instead of applying performance tweaks ,performance tweaks take away ram…….were over clocking comes at very little loss of battery especially if you use the auto scale function.
THIS rom has no parts from any current wm6 rom,this is a real WWE wizard rom ,all the parts needed to make it as a full rom were sourced from my 3.3.
Battery status cannot be configured from today options control panel…….but you can configure it by pressing and holding the battery icon in battery-status today plug in.

the rom may be bit slower because i did not applied any performance tweaks....plus the rom is fully loaded so we cant compare to other roms.....i mean this roms has everything working.....its like comparing a loaded truck to an empty one..
the device may crash when it reboots for the first time at the welcome screen if you don't tap it straight away....just reset the device with the stylus and it will be fine. this is because there is apps loading in the background.
a vanilha version will be released soon.

The issue you are havings is a known issue. The flash utility looks for ActiveSync, and since Vista does not use ActiveSync but its own mess, you wont be able to flash with Vista.

Ok before Faria gets slammed with posts about the flash freezing at 99%.... this is normal. All ROM's (Even releases by HTC or your carrier) have a point when it looks frozen but its not.

Also one thing I have seen is that people expect these things to be perfect OOB (out of box), this is never the case. There will always be a few little kinks and if you read the forum you will either find the answer in this post or another. So read before you post.

On another note, faria I love this release. So far no issues seen, but i will run the phone hardcore as i usually do to see if there are any issues. Thanks again for all your hardwork in putting this release out.

Some people who where trying to update to WM6 on Smartphones like Dash had a problem with "Invalid Code ID"... (me as well).

The procedure to solve the prob was to use the "Unlocker" program provided by some companies, disconnect cable when it asked for a file, close the program and continue to flash with "modded files" (the modded files were specific to the "vendor ID" prob).

Whe you run the unlocker, ActiveSync disconnects, at least looks so.
In this case my "noobish" mind could think the unlocker is actually handling by itself the connection... In this case, using this procedure, it should be possible to run the upgrade even from Vista.

On the other hand, the unlocker might just disconnect ActiveSync but still be using MS drivers, which are probably different in Vista.

Maybe I'm not used to think and I'm just saying nonsense.:)

Adobe LE Reader is included according to the realease note on post #2. Same thing as Adobe Reader but lighter.

I've always installed this version of Contacts backup on any newly upgraded ROM and it has worked 100% in reading the files since I noticed too some ROMS have different versions of Contact Backup

i guess you have a backup of the old version of contacts backup.

solution;
copy the old contacts backup app to the rom [ my documents]....reboot...now run it, you can restore the old format backups now.;)

after that backup with the new one...and you set for the future.

today agenda and the new battery-status take longer to load now hence the delay when rebooting and the delay in the reaction of the tap...just after rebbothing.... but after that it should be fine.

Every piece will. I havent had a problem and ive installed the full resco and the full SPB set. No issues so far

Is anyone receiving smaller than normal picture messages? I've only encounted this problem with the crossbow roms. When receiving, the pictures are tiny (160x120) and downsized to smaller than 15kb.

Try this for yourself to see if you are getting the same problem. Take a picture and note its file size. Send it to yourself, and you may notice that the pictures are A LOT smaller than the original file.

Also make sure that your MMS settings under photo resolution say "640x480" or "original"

Please PM me if you are getting the same problem.

Programers: Are you getting the same problem and is there a fix for this?

P.S. on occassion when it says MMS downloading, i will see the full file size of the picture it is downloading. When the download is finished, the screen blinks and then it becomes less than 15kb.... this makes MMS a lil pointless if we cant get proper picture messages.

Any particular reason why my little "G," by the signal strength bars, no longer stays active all the time?

On all the previous ROMs I've tried, it always stayed active. Now, I have to go into the Comm Mgr and click the Push Email icon...the little "G" comes back for a little while (presumably as long as the sync takes place), and then goes away.

Any ideas?

Any particular reason why my little "G," by the signal strength bars, no longer stays active all the time?

On all the previous ROMs I've tried, it always stayed active. Now, I have to go into the Comm Mgr and click the Push Email icon...the little "G" comes back for a little while (presumably as long as the sync takes place), and then goes away.

Any ideas?

Ya i was sick of this too! so i made myself a cab file that does it all for me!!! If you give me the details you want any other settings i will make one for you to use each time you hard reset. I have it set owner, power time, backlight time, turn start button click off, set font size!!! Just let me know if you would like something like this and i will be happy to help. (I would normal say work it out, but as so many poeple are helping, i would pass on my know how) Or if you would like i can just tell you where to look!

WinCE Cab Manager is the app i like to use. The only thing you need to do is go into your phone after all is said and done and search for those keys. then you basically add them into the WinCE Cab Manager and it does the rest. Pretty simple app to use. Thats why i like it. LOL.

I have tested both today. One big diffrence is that Faria's Rom works. On the RTM release, my commmanager froze. I couldnt exit the Windows Update application. and that was just the beginning. The device ran really slow and there seemed to be an issue with working in the registry with resco. hate to say it but copying a kernel over does not make the rom better or newer. just makes it more prone to issues. As I saw today.

mUn_aRTM_10.2.0.8_WWE is ported from the Hermes ROM, i.e. the ROM is not for wizard but has been fixed with the correct drivers for the Wizard. AFAK, the Hermes ROM is another WM6 beta ROM.

The Faria's ROM, according to him is not another beta ROM but the real, possibly final WM6 ROM for the Wizard.

Can't tell which one is better yet because they are released within 24 hours of each other.

Is anyone experiencing slow GPRS connections with this rom? I am using the 2.19 radio. Previously I was using the underground edition and connectivity was great. I also re-applied the radio after the flash but still slow speeds.

2.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Owner\Owner (should be a Binary entry) and export the reg key

4. You can import it and then just save it!!

If I may be so bold, where then do you stand on Registry Wizard (knowing that there is another version coming out soon) and this ROM? I have been using it since it came out since I like the ease of the GUI vs editing the keys individually.

OH and since I forgot to do so in an earlier post.... Thanks for yet another great contribution to the community!! When you release a ROM for the TyTN I will think about getting an 8525! yes the new registry wizard is coming out...and it is being designed with this rom in mind....

I only recently went to the Faria 3.3 and was pretty happy. For a few weeks now I have been wondering whether to bother going to WM6 or not. When I saw this and based on my previous experience of the 3.3 I decided to go for it.

So far so good but it is still early days.

It would be nice to see somewhere someone writing up why upgrade to WM6, as from what I can see so far there is not a huge difference - ofc I can simply be spoiled by the excellence of the Faria 3.3 package.

If you are refusing to spend some times to read, you will brick your device. Flashing the original ship ROM won't help you if it's dead.

You should read :mad: I am not saying that your phone is dead. I am saying that it will be dead because you don't even know the basic thing such as G3, G4... You will kill it by flashing the ROM without knowing anything about your device.

That was put in by the chef!!! If sets up your Settings. For example i am with t-mobile i pick UK T-Mobile and it sorts it out (but i dont cus i have my own cab file for everything)

Is anyone having problem using shell tool to flash this rom on a locked G4? Shell tool consistantly reports flash completed after only two minutes into the flash. I have attempted to flash it 8 times without success. I have no problem flashing the locked G4 to any other rom.

My push email works as it always has. When you look at the active sync on your phone does it show "connected" under microsoft exchange?

I'm assuming you have deleted your server settings and reentered them. Does your serve institute security settings on your phone? if so has it done it with this new rom? (gotta ask this) do you have the Push mail active on the comm manager?

Sounds like a registry tweak. The previous ROMs you were playing with had "gprs always on"


The setting can be found in the WM5 tweaks wiki which is linked on the Wizard wiki.

First off, thank you Faria for once again providing a great product. Two issues I have noticed.

1. My caps notify symbol isnt working. It's loaded in the startup folder so I am not sure what the issue is. Any suggestions? Is there a cab file I could install over top of what is already there to correct this?

2. Wifi through a wireless router will intermittently stop working and I have to disconnect and reconnect for it to start working again. I have never had this problem before so I think my Wifi radio is working properly.

These are the only two issues I have been able to find and I gave my G4 unlocked wizard a good test run.

I have been using the rom for couple hours. So far seems good. But the battery life was going down too fast. But I tried removing 3-4 programs from the start up and now it seems ok. I tryied the MB and Mun's Rom, and think that Faria's Rom is the most stable for be so far.

I've noticed that most of this Roms have 3rd party apps for backing up contacts, sms, etc. I searched the web, and found a wonderful app that can backup all of these at once and restore to any kind of OS. It syncronizes with the PC. I made back up from the WM5 and restored it to the WM6. So, the program is Jeyo Mobile Companion. And it will prevent the cooked ROM from all of these tons of apps.

Another thing I wanted to ask is the back up of programs. Is there any program that will be able to backup your programs of i.e. WM5 and restore them to WM6, or the reverse thing.

If not, then is it possible do restore from i.e. WM6 to WM6 but a different rom.

I don't think Jeyo is freeware, so I doubt you'll see it on any cooked rom. You can't restore WM5 image on WM6 that's a one way ticket to hard reset-ville. WM6 to WM6 is probably not possible since I tried restoring a WM5 from another WM5 with the same AKU and still had to hardreset.

Yes, it isn't, but there are ways to make it free :) BY the way it is a PC apps, so it can't be cooked in a rom.

Do any of you guys use claunch? It is a today launcher. I got used to it, but it seems to have problems with the Crossbow. It often doesn't start up after a soft reset. The probebility is like 40 to 60 that it won't start up. I thought maybe I could fix the problem by putting a shortcut to the startup menu, but I couldn't find the .exe file. The only way to manipulate it is to go to start->setting->today->items. And that is the only place where I could find the claunch. And there is no folder in the Program files too. Do you know how I can get to the .exe file and make a shortcut in the strat up folder?

I have a little bit of an issue. I was flashing farias rom to my wizard and at 67% my computer restarted (no relation to the rom.) I reset my phone and the three colored screen comes up and my phone stays on that screen. I tried to reflash my rom and there is a error message about my rom update utility before it even starts.

I downloaded the last official rom from the T-mobile USA website and tried to flash that rom, but I got an error that reads "The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between your PC and the PDA phone." The connection is fine and my computer even makes a sound that it recognizes the connection. Is the regular Battery Status installed or the extended version?

Looking at the "About" tab, it says v1.04.200 beta2 which looks like the version number of extended. I have used Extended beta2 on AKU3 but I don't remember if it should say explicitly "BatteryStatus Extended". The performance on this rom seems different from what I'm accustomed to. Two main things I notice are:
1. CPU usage icon and reception icon are reversed (reception info used to be displayed w/ RAM info but now it's displayed w/ ROM info)
2. Adding applications to Application based overclocking is inconsistent. The "Add to list" appears randomly.


Or maybe it's just an incompatibility with Crossbow?

Any ideas?Well, your phone has to be unlocked and CID unlocked. Depending on your phone there are a couple of ways to accomplish that. You must do that FIRST. Once you are all unlocked you can ONLY upgrade to this new ROM from an existing 2.xx ROM (usually a service provider's official ROM).

All these instructions are in the stickies and wikis.

when i done flashed i come to Clock & Time zone setting my default is -5 Indiana i change to -6 Cent. America. now everytime i soft-reset or restart, setting->clock my time zone will back to default -5 Indiana even tho i change it -6 Cent. America.

Be glad button's rom doesn't flash. "newer updater" sounds like you have a G4. Flashing button's on a G4 will brick you're device. Flash wizard_love and you will be fine. Read read read!

this rom is missing core player which faria had in the previous version thats kinda sad for me since it was the bset app which plays all kind of media any way every thing else works great can cand body send me the cab file alone for the core player which faria had in the previous version.

No, it's not that. I left it for a while and then it comes up saying it can't be finished, etc. I have unlocked/cid unlocked i'm on spl/ipl 2.26 or whatever it is lol and all should be fine but it just sticks at 99% and i'm stuck reflashing back to the latest rom from tmobile

I tested my Push email with notifications for new email set to only vibrate and it did not work. Sorry

Add me to the list of people for whom push mail with Vibrate does not notify if the device is in Standby. If the device is on, it works just fine, but when in standby - nothing. I just get the notification next time I turn on my device. Looks like we're back to the 1.18 behavior that came with the original Cingular ROM I had. :-(

Any chance this is actually a registry setting somewhere or are these sorts of things buried deeper in the code? I never saw a "fix" for the earlier WM5 ROMs, just that the later ones worked.

I'm currently running the latest Faria's AKU 3.3 ROM on my CID unlocked G3, can I install this ROM straight or I'm better downgrading to T-Mobile 2.26 and then Faria's WM6 ROM? I unlocked mi Wizard following the steps described in the Wiki (Button ROM, Lokiwiz 0.2b, Button ROM to get IPL/SLP 1.X and then T-Mobile 2.26 and then Faria's AKU 3.3).

Did CID unlock thru imei.check.co.uk and still i am seeing 2.25.0001 extension, Is this normal??
I flashed it to this WM6 Faria ROM and its working properly. Just few questions though,

1) Getting ERROR at startup, "sddaemon.exe cannot be opened" , i think its startup manager file, how to rectify that ?? I tried Hard Reset.

2) There's Cingular Logo cab file which gets installed, i think its for the logo in dialer, i dont want it, how to remove that logo ? Previously on cingular ROM when i did hard reset the logo was gone, here even after doing it for 2 times the logo remains.

3) sdddialer also not working

Can't wait for the vanilla version of this ROM... I'd rather install any programs I need/want than remove ones I don't!

There were a couple of issues in previous wm6 releases that I just wondered if they'd been resolved by Faria:

1) Auto-fill of names in messaging when typing in the "to" field
2) Windows Live messenger only connecting over GPRS even when wi-fi is enabled
3) I think it's what it's supposed to do, but it's annoying - is there a way to stop Windows Live adding all your contacts to your phone? I don't use my Wizard for e-mails or anything very often, so this is pretty useless, and just fills up my contacts list and then it takes longer to find the people I want to call.

1. My caps notify symbol isnt working. It's loaded in the startup folder so I am not sure what the issue is. Any suggestions? Is there a cab file I could install over top of what is already there to correct this?

2. Wifi through a wireless router will intermittently stop working and I have to disconnect and reconnect for it to start working again. I have never had this problem before so I think my Wifi radio is working properly.

These are the only two issues I have been able to find and I gave my G4 unlocked wizard a good test run.

i just copied a new sym.txt to the windows folder and set it as read only.
and there are 3 or 4 reg keys to change to your country code, wait a minute and then sr.

Ok, I cant fix the wifi deal, but you need to do a registry tweak to get the caps notify on.

I did the same thing at first (I am assuming you are central US and not central America) make sure you pick "Central US" and not "Central America". This fixed it for me. If you are in Central America, I'm sorry for assuming you meant US.

Mine does the same thing if I use setting->phone but if I use setting->sounds and notifications it stays with the new ring. I just have to remember if I go into phone settings to go back into sounds and notifications and reset it.

Yep, cool! That fixed it for me. Add the dword entry and then soft reset a minute later. Now get the dot and C indicator. Thanks for the reminder on that ;)

Flash an official ROM like the TMobile US 2.26 Ship ROM. You can find it via the Sticky in the Wizard Upgrading forum by Dr. P on how to CID Unlock. He has a link to the TMobile site to download it. That will get your IPL/SPL up to 2.26 (and your Radio to 2.25). Then you can flash this (or other ROMs).

BTW: Since you went back to the Button ROM, you WILL have to run lokiwiz again before doing the 2.x rom...

If you are a noob lol, make sure ur CID unlocked before you upgrade, i haven't had the chance to upgrade yet, so i can't say about the bootloader, but if it's .exe, i would have thought you wouldn't need it...just run the .exe file an away you go.

The tray at the bottom of the screen is from BatteryStatus. Click and hold on the batterystatus icon on the today screen and a popup menu will come up. Uncheck the line that says TrayIcons...

bt stereo behaves in different ways across hardware....try to use other settings in the bitpool....
i does work fine with Sony and Sony Ericsson headsets.

Minor issue (and one I won't normally run into), but if I go into SMS, select a message, and then choose Objects (left soft key), there is no way to close out the object view windows. I have to use Magic Button's to click and hold on the MMS icon and then choose close. Clicking on the X doesn't close the window. Not sure if this is an Arcsoft issue, Magic Button issue, or
