It's a silly question to the gurus of this board, but I'm a complete intellectual infant on this subject. and I didn't find it in the FAQs.

1. Can a Cingular 8525 be flashed with a Hermes rom?
2. Are there any extra steps to take if I want to flash the HTC version?
3. I'm closer to power user than a novice user, but I'm also of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school. With that in mind, are there any can't-live-without adjustments to be made (freeing up more memory the chiefest among them).

Your answers are perfectly fine as yes/no, if one word answers will do!

Upgrading FAQ #2 (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeFAQ#Q2)

2. Are there any extra steps to take if I want to flash the HTC version?

read Hermes Registry (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry), scroll down until you see... "When applying a non-cingular ROM to an 8525 its default keyboard is different than the 8525"

3. I'm closer to power user than a novice user, but I'm also of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school. With that in mind, are there any can't-live-without adjustments to be made (freeing up more memory the chiefest among them).

Read and you'll find :)
