I keep following this posts, hoping that you 3 can get to the finish line, get a working ROM and write a tutorial about it.

I wish I had time to investigate this subject, but "unfortunately"(or not...) my 2 little devils make time fly away..

I hope that the experts can give you a hand...

During summer break I want to try my own build, based on a good ROM and taken use of the available space in ROM to install some apps that are not usually upgraded.

Cheers

Hi,

Your grate,

I'm doing the hard way as well, flashed many times to try.
Not further than bootscreen
All weekend I'm searching how?
Did you manage to rebuild the kitchen and flash your new rom?

Would be grate

Cheers, Leo :)

do it the hard way (the way i did :( )
just search for the dsm/rgu guid provided by helmi in his original kitchen against the dump....
the are mostly files like ....xxxx_409
(BTW i think LOC is Localization)
or if you can wait i will post the list of files for the loc and os tomorrow (too tired today....spent the entire day searching the files )

Hi,

-Packages.sof
-initflashfiles.dat
-boot.rgu
-cabarc.exe

-OS
-LOC

Still it would be great if somebody has an answer to this, so that we can use another nk.nba in the KITCHEN.

What is CreateOS.exe doing?

Midget_1990

im just compressing it :)

the reason you are having trouble is that helmi's kitchen uses bepe's old kitchen tools, and this new build is for his new kitchen :)

Hi again Midget,

Downloaded and extracted the kitchen in C:\DEV UNI.

-BuildOS.exe, starts with an error

Do you know why?

Midget_1990
13th May 2007, 07:08 PM
you need .net frameworks 1 and 2

Laurentius26
13th May 2007, 07:48 PM
Checked Controlpanel\Software, both frameworks I have already.
Updated my computer to the latest security patches and restarted
Extracted the DEV_UNI.exe again to C:\DEV_UNI
Started BuildOS.exe

Error :(

I want to start a new thread for you, but first I want to see it work.

Is the directory ok? c:\dev_uni?
Must be isn't, it extracts this way?

I'm using winxp pro.

you need .net frameworks 1 and 2

OK, I start a new thread, maybe others can help :D

Midget_1990

does it get an error when you try to compile the rom or when you open the exe?

what error?

Laurentius26
13th May 2007, 08:02 PM
When I try to compile the rom.

BuildOS.exe

error message is in Dutch but I try to explain.

It can't start because the configuration of the application isn't write.
Maybe reïnstalling the application will solve the problem.

Laurentius26

The error message is:

C:\DEV_UNI\BuildOS.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Same here on the failure; I've got .net 1.1 and 2.0 (and 3.0), should it be 1.0?

Could it be the Zip application you used to upload it to Rapidshare?

Midget_1990
13th May 2007, 09:08 PM
well the 1st one was 7-zip and via rapidshare

2nd was the zip bepe sent me via the forum, if they both dont work it cant he the file, maybe this is why bepe didnt release it...

Laurentius26
13th May 2007, 10:16 PM
Do you think so?

What if 7-zip destructed the OEM or SYS folder?
Also you got it working wright?

Maybe (I hope it's not to much to ask :o ), you can zip it one more time with winrar and post it to Rapidshare again?

Would be great :)

Universal, in this case, does not mean it will work with everything - It refers to the HTC Universal, so unless your device is a rebranded Universal (eg Dopod 900, O2 Exec, IMate Jasjar, etc) this Kitchen will not work (or at least will not work without major modification and hacks)

I have hosted the files for helmi_c's kitchen here:

When unzip HelmiUniWm6KitchenR0.rar into c:\dev, there is a nk.nba in c:\dev\rom directory.

I run CreateOs.exe follow by CreateRom.bat, it produce nk.nba in c:\dev\temp directory.

But when I make a binary compare (fc.exe) of the above 2 files, it is different.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

Resurrecting a very old thread.... :o

Did anyone ever resolve the 'loc/packages.sof is corrupt' error as soon as CreateOS is run?

I'm on XP Pro (so not the incompatible Vista), have .NET Frameworks 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0, and am using a downloaded rar that worked fine in the past.

Humph! :(

Arrrrg, doesn't work on two Laptops using XP pro and home.

I wonder if a recent Windows update is conflicting?
