Hard-SPL and ROM Backups

Hi,

Am I correct in thinking that the Hard-SPL will not replace the IPL or Radio Parts of a ROM? If so, is it possible to flash a dumped OS image with the Hard-SPL installed and then re-flash the original SPL? The reason I ask is that I'd like to be able to create a backup of my ROM and as I understand things this didn't used to be possible.

yeah... but why exactly do you think it's necessary to go back to a retail SPL?

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to be able to reinstall the retail SPL in case I need to return it for a warranty repair at some point in the future.

I assume it's still not possible to dump the IPL and SPL from the device?
